Also if you read his thread the engine is quite substantially modified, I dunno why people compare stock engines to modded ones, do all the same things to a bigport 4age and the K motor won't stand a chance and remember back in the BTCC days the bigport 4age's used to make <200hp in N/A form.
I am with sam on this one, even my rwd carbied 4age, it didn't cost me anymore then 3k to do and that was with 1000 bucks worth of brand new toyota jdm parts, 45mm webers, intake manifold, rwd underdrive pulleys and ignition system.
HAHAHAHA, You have no idea of what i have done then have you and there is still no proof of flutter damaging turbo's.
Take a look at a JETT Racing 1200 ute pass, The rpm deflects approx 500rpm when shifting:
BTW this is another turbo auto I am currently working on:
No BOV's or intercooler, straight turbo to manifold running on methanol.
And I used to build turbo systems for nissan's and helped build the shop car where I used to work which had over 600hp at the wheels.
Trev's Custom Fabrication - Signature Performance
What does the auto changing gears have to do with a bov, A bov only vents when the throttle is closed and a properly setup turbo auto will overdrive the auto so it is basically not changing engine speeds, listen to turbo drag cars that run 2 speed powerglides and you will notice that they sound like there is no gear change.
Maybe do some research perhaps...
It really is quite easy, you only compress the spring for a portion of a second and it works good on heavy duty valve springs, you can use it single handed on vg30 heads.
There is a one handed item on the market that my cousin has, It will remove and insert collets with ease, I will get some info on it when I go to work, It really only takes about 30 seconds to remove valve springs from a 12 valve head.
