  1. Has anyone here actually used a air/fuel meter for tuning? You do know that it is best to turn the o2 sensor on so it warms up before you use it...
  2. Gotta love when that happens.
  3. Red AE71 just pointed out that you most likely don't have an injector signal going to the 4 injectors, have you got an LED test light or a noid light handy to see if you have injector pulse? If this is the case then I refer back to my 1st post as a point to start looking, I have a 4age diagnostic manual I can scan if you run into trouble.
  4. Don't know what that has to do with it. Look at the dudes profiles that make it :( I think that was me tho I would of been talking about the OBD part of it not updating correctly to work on all cars, If this happens you need to make a backup on your computer and send it to innovate.
  5. Hey guys I went and seen my old boss Terry yesterday to get some spares and we were talking bout the race car and he has informed me that he along with John will be racing in the historics meeting at lakeside on the 7-8th of next month, I am keen too see John's car now since it has been rebuilt after this happend: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=22722 And for those that don't know this is Terry's car: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19199 I will be there to probably help out but it will be good to check out LS since I haven't been there for 20+ years.
  6. Pedders... Ask 4ages what he thinks of them, he wanted to throw them back into the window of the shop. Got king SL's in one of the secas and no other suspension mods and it handled pretty good, tyres were a let down as it would start to initiate a 4 wheel slide going too fast around round abouts.
  7. Exhaust tip clamp.
  8. You will find that most of that will be the price of the sensor itself, Lambda's that my old boss used to buy were 300 each...
  9. I should of put the innovate link up. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm2.php This one is not a gauge, It is a hand held unit that also works as an OBD-II scanner, We got ours as it had obd and could hook up to the dyno and display realtime, The innovate is a package in one, The techedge on the other hand only has a 3rd party system on the PC or you can buy optional gauge, we set it up with TEWBLOG but now run it with nissan consult.
  10. Currently using one from TechEdge which hooks up to the laptop and allows data logging, Fairly cheap, other options are the innovate which I don't know if you can log with the meter as I never tried as it was hooked up to the dyno or read live on onroad testing. The one that rb20_rolla has posted uses UEGO lambda which you can use on the techedge and on the innovate.
  11. You need to hook the heater hoses up, they are normally disconnected due to the core leaking. Which engine bay shot is your current one?
  12. I would be getting a wide band o2 sensor, there is no real point tuning a car without one due to the better accuracy over a narrow band.
  13. Have you got the fuel delivery feeding the right way? Check the cold start injector circuit, in failing that try another ecu (ke70dave has a spare one).
  14. Yeah but if I knew the name of them ages ago I would of bought some wouldn't I :bash:, I just never knew what they were, Was trying to explain them to my dad one day as he often picks up cars with lock nuts and no socket to undo them.
  15. I have everything I need apart from spare flex plate bolts to do the tidy up, List: Timing belt kit - Timing belt, Crank seal and tensioner pulley. Cam seals (do not come in kit) Brand new crank timing gear incase the one on it is stuck. Rear crank seal. Exhaust gasket. Also the other other day I pulled out of work and did a high rpm neutral drop which seen me doing a double legger surrounded by smoke and almost into the gutter across the road, I keep forgetting that it doesn't do single spinners :P
  16. I don't want or need 1 as I use 6 point sockets but I reckon they would be good for removing wheel lock nuts, I have tried to explain them to a few people over the last few years but never actually knew what they were.
  17. Farken legend, I have been looking for them for a while, I reckon they would come in handy for stuff like this.
  18. OT but have you seen multi fit sockets at all yet? They were on TV years ago and are a large socket with heaps of push in splines on the inside, basically when you put it on the bolt/nut it pushes the splines up where the top of the head is and the rest fit snugly around the outside of the head, It is just like one of them 3d pin art things. I cannot find them at all.
  19. shibby :P
  20. Ha, cheap kents
  21. I may not be in SA but I may be some help with AE82/6 series since I use a Toyota dealership in the states and my old workplace.
  22. Matt where you looking at getting the balance bar from? Boettcher race parts normally have them in stock fairly cheap.
  23. "Why weld the top when you can't see it" Let's just say I got over the 'don't worry about going the extra mile to make the customer happy' attitude that was present, money in the hand is what it was mostly about, new boss is nothing like that.
