  1. You'll need the gearbox (T50) and engine crossmember out of an AE71. You'll also need at least part of the exhaust (4AC exits drivers side), and probably a few small other things, but not much.
  2. Hmm, have now lost my navigator so probably won't be doing this (since my mom's visiting too...) Oh well...
  3. Justin: Your car is amazingly "clean". Definately a great example of a KE70...
  4. I understood Teddy's post, but geez man, do you have to make it so hard for us??? *edit* okay, maybe I'm old, grey and boring, but I just find it really difficult to understand a lot of the things you say, Teddy. Maybe it's the spieling mistkes, maybe its the lack of structure and punctuation or something...
  5. I've personally only ever been to Ipswitch Kart Hire. I like it there. I'm free most evenings/nights. I work weekdays.
  6. I am.
  7. Teddy: I think all crew members (driver/nav) need club membership. CAMS licence is included in the entry.
  8. Just called them up, YES you do need a club membership, YES if you've never held a competion licence then the entry fee includes the licence (dammit why can't they make it cheaper for people who already have licences...)
  9. Simon is still here in Brisbane (AFAIK). Well, at least last time I spoke to him he was in Brisbane... He drove down to Adelaide recently to compete in some drift event of some sort, something organised by JMS. Rumour has it he came in 4th place (he can actually drive???) That car no longer looks exactly like that. Has lost the silly vinyl, now has the mandatory "drift-spec" black bonnet. Also has "drift" suspension (that I don't agree with at all as far as the theory of the setup goes), TRD LSD etc...
  10. Umm... Nick. Read No 7 lately? You've never held a competition licence. Therefore you don't need a CAMS licence, it is included in the entry fee (well that's what I read from it anyway). It is normal for the Nav to pay half of the entry fee (from what I know), therefore it will set you back a whole $30 to enter this event... I don't even think you actually need to join a club... Give BSCC a call. They'll be able to tell you for sure, but I can assure you this is motorsport at it's bare cheapest. Ever.
  11. Hey look a Pedders swaybar :D And hey what's with Justin building Grimwolge's car? Oh well, at least it'll get done right this time :D *poke poke* :D
  12. Enamel would be even worse I would think. I know I painted one of my fuel filter brackets with black enamel (even with etch primer) and when I bent it to fit the fuel filter it just cracked and flaked... I think that's why they powdercoat springs instead of just painting them...
  13. Umm, I might be wrong, but most paint isn't designed to flex very much (even acrylics) so wouldn't the paint on the springs just flake and crack and stuff after awhile?
  14. I'm personally usually not a fan of off-horizontal horizons... But that's just me. On that note I like #4.
  15. Mmm, wiring...
  16. Why would you need a 24-12V converter??? It would be worth your while to look around the wreckers for a factory setup. Buying new components (whether of factory setup or aftermarket) will never be cheap.
  17. Geez you're keen. Looks pretty good, keep it up.
  18. Go karts are always good fun. I think my workmate Ev is itching for one soon :) Hmm... wonder if White Car will be ready for Skidpan in April... Probably a bad idea hey, putting a "brand new" car on the pan before even getting a chance to iron out any bugs... :D
  19. I will be (well plan to anyway) "streeting" my "race car", for now anyway until I can re-afford to own two cars at once...
  20. Mine will turn 6 months soon... ... and as of yesterday I can now make "brrm brrm" sounds so it's all good! :D
  21. Hmm yes mine have that clear coating too, which is also starting to yellow and crack here and there. I also have bright shine, it's pretty good stuff. Have also heard that Autosol is very good :D
  22. Haha, mine won't be done for... maybe 2 or 3 months...
  23. Northern NSW. About an hour and a bit from Brisbane if I'm not mistaken. I've been there a few times, it's like driving from Brisbane to Gympie...
  24. Argh, looks like I can't do this anymore, mum is here that weekend... *hmm, wonder if I can leave her for a few hours... It's only for the morning right? :D*
  25. Redatto: Looks like someone's gone "hmm, I wonder if we can fit all of this (points to very large pile of metal) into that (points at redatto)" :D
