  2. no further progress on the beast?
  3. thatd probably be a lot easier haha. :hammer:
  4. I'm a noob, but your ignition or cam timing could be out, and check all the vacuum lines going to the tvis system, one of them could be blocked. my car has little bottom end power, but thats because it has bigger cams in it :hammer: could probably do with a head recondition/port polish and new rings...but thats money i don't have :lolcry: just checked the 4age manual. grab urself a vacuum guage and with a 3 way connecter put it between the vsv and the actuator (see pic). the guage should show that there is vacuum under approx 4350 (when tvis kicks in) and there should be no vacuum when tvis is on.
  5. Thanks Nick....i've been waiting a long time for a way to fix that retched problem!!!
  6. The stupid plastic dash bit above has cracked on my car, as well as many other ae82's i've seen, ive been to a heap of wreckers but they ALL seem to be cracked. does anyone have plans of doing a custom one up, because i (and I'm sure alot of other people) would be very interested in it. was thinking of putting a bit of brushed aluminium on there but realized the glare would kill my eyesight. its this bit here just for higher reference.
  7. how much does it cost to get something like this fixed (float or sender), or is it an easy DIY job? macca was telling me its a 2 man all day job
  8. the paint looks a little shotty, i made the wheels bigger, lowered it at the front and a tiny bit at the back. accidentaly painted over one of the badges...my bad
  9. I've been hearing (and feeling) a bit of a knock somewhere in the front of the car for about 2 weeks now, and finally decided to take a look today, and found that the front left wheel was loose and i could wobble it around a fair bit. My first thought was that the wheel nuts were loose, but this wasnt the case, the whole hub/strut was wobbling round, so i took the wheel off and discovered that where the hub connects to the tie rod is loose as can be seen below: So now i'm just wondering whether there is meant to be some sort of bush in there or is it stuffed. thanks in advance to whoever can help me as i am a noob at this sort of stuff Lammi
