The "omg Guess What Happened Today" Thread
towe001 replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Warning signs may include freeze-ups, in which the screen has strange, spontaneous graphical problems in the middle of gameplay, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, the sound is frozen and changed to a strange, static-like sound, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the general hardware failure occurs, or not at all. Just because your Xbox freezes once in awhile does not mean that the error will follow. When the error does occur, the user attempts to turn the console on and the three red lights are seen and the console will not function. -

Have a look at the top rear corner of the door. The gasket seal is more then likely fallen apart with age or around the same area but with what the glass runs on. The car is just like anything and anybody else - just needs some sweet sweet lovin every so often usually called maintenance  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Ring_of_Death#Causes More or less very poor ventilation causing the overheating and crap solder (cause of the greenies MS used no-lead solder) that couldn't handle the heat. There's a few things that can be done in fixing it, like this one http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_...x-clamp_fix.htm Ask Trev about that one.... Kinda hoping the one i get back has a lower version number (doubt it really) so that i'll be able to run linux on it :hmm: -

After a nice short term friendship of about 4-5 months with my xbox 360, it decided to have a dummy spit and throw the red ring of death at me. Gave Microsoft a call handed over my details to the girl who promptly told me that its out of warranty...... Like, what, its only about 6 months old and yes i still have the receipt to prove it... Also found out they don't really fix the system its just a swap with a refurbished unit. Just have to figure out where the damn receipt is -
Yeah yeah i know its done its fair share of "town biking"

Thats going to be an ever lasting scar for the poor guy. Lets hope it wasn't anybody he knew :P -
Not including the scenery nor the rego plates of the other traffic could have sworn you had been tooling the streets of Noosa

Have you checked the timing ? The idle jets could be crapped up. Not enough vacuum. Twin carbs need a higher vacuum then what a single does. It also comes down to whats been done to the motor as well - the idle jets just may not be pumping enough fuel to keep the motor alive so to say

We're having a fund raiser at work tomorrow for the fires and management is going to match dollar for dollar in what we raise  -
From memory there should be two wires on the positive side of the coil - one going through the ballast resistor (about 9v) and the other from the key (12v) which should only be powered when you "hit" the key and only one wire on the negative side which goes to the dizzy - unless you have a tacho hooked up which should be on the negative side as well

Grrrrr i hate you nar j/k

Melbourne's Worst Fires Since Ash Wednesday

All they need is the thing or item used (eg - match, bottle, etc) get the dna from it (and yes it can be done) and find the person that possibly used said item/s and match the dna from both..... When we had an arsonist setting fires near my parents house it was used to prove the person that did it. But now for the BUT. When these scumbags are found don't use their names don't talk about who they are or they can be let off on a technicality of their identity. Crap, i know, its what happened with the scumbag that lit the fires near my parents. It was proven without a doubt who did it but because some people couldn't hold back he got let off with only a slap on the wrist and asked where would he like to move to.... String 'em from a tree i say..... -

Whats grinding my gears My phuckin printers grinding my phuckin gears at the moment trying to get a 86 page PDF ebook printed like a normal book style (both sides of the page printed on) out has taken, oh lets see now, give take about 200 pages so far first try it went pretty good till i realised the page count was out....way way way out. Started at page 81 and the even page was 80, should have been 82 (I was printing from the front to the back and then the pages go back into the printer to be printed backwards). The damn thing skipped 82. By the time it got to the end of the even pages the odd pages page count was 31..... Second try - deciding for its self to print what ever pages it felt like printing and how many it would do of the same damn page..... Third try - some how the red ink tank ran dry.... the pages are black with a bit of blue at the bottom.... Forth - it figured it must re-print the page that it printed so it reversed the paper back it to itself and therefore jammed Fifth - it wanted to spread the page around, so one page became two sheets of paper which in turn became three sheets...... did it stop there.... oh no page 15 is spread over 5 sheets of paper..... sixth - its happy that i've printed out all the odd pages and now printing each even page on its own..... All this crap just for one bloody 86 page aquarium book that i found on an aquarium forum Good printer at other times except now when i want a print out of the book so that i've got something to read in bed not happy JAN

Arsonists, scumbag arsonists (aka firebugs) A new law should be brought in for this lot When caught a nice little trial and then string them up from a tree and set the tree alight Some trees would love the extra fertilizer and a bit extra fodder for the animals

Their a brace to stop the control arms from flexing under cornering etc. More or less work in the same fashion as a strut brace on the struts or a rear wheel drive cross member with its control arms. If your just going to be pushing the body around the yard i can't really see any problems with taking it off. When you fit them back up make sure the car is on level ground and fit up the ends on the firewall first then the where the control arms are, then tighten them all. From memory Whiteline has a brace that fits between the arms

I like the idea of the package but where are they getting it from is what should be asked.... From what i can understand of the last package we got, it put Australia from being in the black to us now in the red. What needs to be done isn't so much of a stimulus package but more of wage cut to each and every topcat (CEO, ones in the government etc etc). And just like us, if they want a wage rise its taken to the public (or the line workers in the case of a business CEO) and voted on. Just like what we'd have to do in taking our case to the "board" and tell them why we believe we're worth more...

Yeah its about all you can do is just fiddle and test. Try to do it with out the trim in place that way you'll be able to see whats happening. If the problem stops it'll be a good chance its the hole for the lock knob Try some WD40 or something on the lock knob and see how it goes. It was something that worked on my old '82 and after that i enlarged the hole a little.
