Yeah it'll make things all nice, easy and clean looking but i wouldn't get overly worried if their not the same. If their not the same the easiest thing to do with connectors is pull the switch out, its a bitch of a job but it can be done (from memory its a 25mm but don't quote me) without having to pull the g'box out. Just make sure you clean all the crap from around the switch first before diving in between the firewall the carby, exhaust and back of the motor. Next on the step is test it to make sure it works. A pair of those 2-way connectors are good for the job. Don't be worried about wire orientation its just a simple on/off switch.

Where to start Kids spent the day at each others throats - i truly know why some parents of the animal kingdom eat their young. Amber gets home from work and her telstra mobile has been disconnected. So off we went back over to the hated telstra shop. 10-15 minutes of sitting around watching one of the staff dancing, yes phucking dancing, to the music videos on the tv we finely got some service only to get told that there's no record of her number..... but they'll be able to do a trace on her account number. I had to race back home to find an old telstra bill...... Raced back and got every single red light on the way back (good ol' murphy at work). Handed the account number over.... "Oh, your phone number had been suspended.... I think it was cause Rob had his number disconnected....." Got home and Amber did her thing with reporting her work to centrelink. I went to do the same thing with lodging my dole form on the net only to get blocked out cause of the stupid security questions. So i filled in the paper one that i had, drove over to centrelink to hand it in and ask about my centrelink page and that i've been blocked out. The old lady proceeded to give me question after question on why i couldn't remember the security questions.... She didn't like it when i turned around and told her that for one answer i forgot to put in the spaces between the words and for two other questions the answers were the same but for one reason or another the correct answer for them was wrong.... My new phone has no games on it..... And it seams like i can't get a game or an application onto it. Tried both direct from the net and indirect from the computer..... no go... Sucks At least i have true sat nav on it :D

Ae86 Bolt On Front Brake Kits Fit Ke30 Sedan
towe001 replied to ninja-philbo's topic in General Mechanical
I think this would be the page your after http://www.hoppers.com.au/complete%20leaflet%20FEB%202007/page_028.html Would have to send them an email asking what type of strut the kit would need. Personally i think the 290mm rotor would be better suited to the corona strut then what it would be on a ke strut or the ae86. But my idea would be to step away from the Hopper Stoppers and bend more to the hi-lux 4 spot-calipers (i believe its rn106) bolted on to the corona struts. Either way you go it'll still be a mix and match of strut, caliper and rotor. I think it was said before but you'll also be looking at upgrading the master cylinder -
The seals from the '30 will fit the '55. There was some talk about the ones off ebay a while back, you'll just have to have a search in the "Automotive Discussion" section due to mixed options of them. On the gearbox. Those quick connectors you can get from the local auto shop are ideal for the wiring to the g'box. Pretty well much the only wiring you'll be needing on the g'box is the reversing switch. The reverse switch wiring should come from under the master cylinder along the firewall to the g'box, just two wires ending in a plug or something. The other wiring that goes to the g'box is for a switch or two for the carby to do with the emissions control which the ke70 g'box doesn't have. There's no sweat with connecting the wires to the reversing switch on the g'box its just a switch - basically power in, power out. But since i only have an early '30 someone with a '55 might have a better idea on the plugs etc.

Did you do a trial fit before welding ?

Ae86 Bolt On Front Brake Kits Fit Ke30 Sedan

SEARCH damn it Edit - not having a dig at you Dave or anything. Just a shot across the bow on this thread. Bolt in. All you'll need is the steering arms from the ae86 and the bearing plate from the ke30. I'm not sure about the ae86 springs - if their wider or seating in a different place on the strut tubes. Unless your planning on longer control arms the tie rods and their tubes will be ke3x/5x Ball joints are the same across the board. Another choice would be Corona struts especially since your wanting bigger brake. The springs will have to swapped over to the ke3x/5x but since your planning on coil-overs that wouldn't be a problem. Wheel bearings are the same across the board on the corolla - ke20 thought to the ae86. But the corona uses different ones. I guess the "mix-and-match" of the parts will be the brakes. Four spot hi-lux calipers on the corona struts.... -
I'm a house bitch now :) It was the same when i was working at a resort on the sunshine coast. The boss pulled a radio out but we had to keep working. But on that note, the resort was the worst for things like that. New years night, while every man and his dog was out watching the fireworks etc etc i was arms up in a crap load of work and not allowed to step outside to watch and scream "Happy new years"
-
I like the idea of the Melbourne cup. But i just don't get the idea of "The race that stops a nation." Last year at work, sure the boss brought a radio out but i still had to work my arse off. We couldn't stop for those few minutes and crowd around the radio. Think its a bit stupid when they say its the race that stops a nation when its only Melbourne that gets the public holiday.

Oh don't worry i have, this was the fourth time we'd gone in and told them to change the surname to the correct one. the only thing i like about telstra is the coverage.  i know the feeling. Two thirds of the drivers in this town are nothing more then sheep. Come up to a set of traffic lights on a dual lane road and one lane is full of cars. Never see it anywhere else. And on the subject of traffic lights, its a go thing to get into the habit of when the lights go green wait a few seconds or a few more cause you'll be pretty sure of some dumb arse blazing their stupid way through on a red.

I just keep watching this over and over to see if there was a tap or anything.... And there isn't one....
-
Thats what she was going to do. But her supervisor said the reason for doing the way she did, account number etc, is due to fraud and privacy laws or some crap like that. To have the number transferred over i had to prove i was the account holder..... But telstra didn't give a rats arse..... I could have closed your account, all i needed was your mobile number....
-
I wouldn't think so but according to my son my '30 is "Really really fast. Faster then mums car" '07 lancer  And mum hates it :laff:
-
Cheers Felix. I did cut a slot in the brackets but i didn't worry about taking a photo nor writing it up.

Nar. Been keeping an eye out. Saw it again this morning on Ruthven. But had a better look, beige two door ke30 with rear louvres

Thought it was pretty cool. My boy is more or less on to his green P's now

I've often wondered about that.... My latest bitch for the day is Telstra Phucking telstra or more correctly the telstra shop at a shopping centre here in town. My contract ended up a few months back and so i've been looking around for a new phone. Found the one i wanted but it was only through optus, who also had a better deal anyway. Went through all the crap to get my number ported over but then we found out i needed the account number as well so i walked over to the telstra shop and after about 15minutes waiting i finely got served went back to optus to get the sign up finished. Didn't work, the account number was wrong or so it seamed. Went back over to telstra about 10minutes standing around found out the account number was correct but the surname was wrong..... So back i went with the surname they used cause they wouldn't change the surname. Still wrong. So i've now got a new number.... Went back into telstra to get the old number disconnected and after about 20minutes of standing around got the service didn't even need identification to do it. But the one thing that really gets me about this shop is that on average there might be at least 14 staff members standing around with their fingers up their bums.

Got a couple of dvds from Civic earlier and just put "Worlds greatest dad" in......about 12 movie adds later...... Like bloody hell i only want to sit down and watch the damn movie not plug it in and toddle off and fall asleep....

We'll just be tripping out there. There was a few people out there on sunday. Not too sure at the moment but it'll most likely be before 12 on the day to claim the area we'd be wanting. Now the question - JiP will be sleeping in his car, yes ? And Doug will be crashing in his van like normal or or you going to have to tent it ?
-
Yep thats the one. You'll see a white concrete tank up on the hill beside the road if you go past the turn off, same side.

Step Seven - Bleeding the brake This is why the brakes have to be bleed. I like to put the container up higher then the caliper due to the bubbles wanting to travel up. About three full easy pumps on the brake pedal should do the trick. Just watch the fluid level in the brake reservoir and don't let it get too low. There are other methods to bleeding brakes, i just think this way is a bit easier. Go back over all the bolts and nuts for a double check to make sure their done up. Repeat on the other side.
-
Step Six - Fitting Basically from here its just in the reverse order. The only trouble you might run into is the slots in the upper spring seat and the slots cut into the shock absorber. It must be fitted correctly or you not be able to tighten the bearing plate nut. Slide shock absorber into the strut tube, fit the locking nut and make sure its tight (the shock absorber body can not move). When you go to fit the strut back into the car use the length of timber to push the control arm down to make sliding the strut into place easier. Note 1> have the bolts on the bearing plate lined up it'll make things a touch easier. Note 2> have at least one nut, don't worry to much about the washer till the bearing plate is in position and then do the other two with washers and go back to the first nut, for the inside bolt on the bearing plate at hands reach. Don't do up tight yet. Because you'll need the wiggle room to get the strut fitted onto the steering arm. The strut and steering arm have to be flat against each other for the bolts to be able to go through properly. And now tighten the nuts for the bearing plate. The next tricky bit is fitting the brake calipers. Make sure you reconnect the brake hose first and then fit the caliper over the rotor and onto the strut. Line up the top bolt hole first and then the bottom bolt. Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight.
-
Step Four - Springs Once out it'll look like this. Spring compressors - make sure their on opposite sides of the spring and tighten evenly. When the spring is loose and away from its upper spring seat you'll be able to take the middle nut off. If the shock absorber turns while your undoing the nut you'll have to hold the upper spring seat down, there's a slot where the shock absorber goes through. It'll help with stopping the shocky turning. After it's all done. May or may not have the boot/bump stop Step Five - Shock Absorber Removal Place the strut in a bench vice, or it can be done on the ground (bit harder but) Depending on the style of the locking nut will either be removed with a pin punch or the monkey wrench (unless you have the correct tool) Shown with both tools.

You did a better job of it then what i did Trev. Hmm cup holders its the one thing Amber is always bitching about whenever she's in in my thing. "Where am i going to put me drink ? There's no cup holder. The Lancer has one...." "Shove it between your legs...."
