nice, but we still need some pictures :) if you live in usa, why do you want rhd?? what is pitman arms? and what is the difference between your te72 and a ke70? except the engine etc..
-
Did some more work today.. mounted the tailshaft, filled the gearbox with 1.5litre castrol synthetic gl3/4 oil but I'm unsure if the gearbox need 1.5 or 1.7litre.. the older ( ta22-t50 ) wants 1.7l and ae86-t50 wants 1.5l?? and mounted the new steering wheel :)
-
it worked for us, ( we was very hungry :) ) and I'm still alive! cheaper and better than buying a burger or something.. last time you was in a burger shop, did you notice that the guy worked there didn't wash his hands after visiting the toilet? or finding a rat tail in the kebab? :)

just look for something like this: and hope they didn't change the diff to a non LSD :)

Now I got my camera back, so I can upload some pictures! Before we lifted the engine out of the ae86.. Wiring loom.. Header.. After spraypainting.. Spraypainted muffler Engine lifted out.. Time to eat! ( we didn't have a knife ) ae86 rear axle with LSD.. Front suspension, quaife steering rack and coilovers.. Old 2t-b engine, leaking about 1litre oil per day, the starter is dead, and it burn very much oil when driving.. ke70 + 4age + ae86 front suspension with quaife steering and coilovers, ae86 rear axle with LSD, bilstein shocks front and rear = I'm not yet finished, I have not mounted the thailshaft and the fuel tank.. and I got my friend fixing my wiring for the ECU/EFI next week :D :D :D
-
yeah worked from friday 20:00 to 04:00, and from saturday 15:00 to sunday 22:00 without sleeping!
-
Now I've been working all weekend, and taken alot of pictures, but of course I forgot the camera, so I will post them later this week the ke70 has now: 4A-GE with 170hp T50 Coilovers with stiff springs and bilstein shocks at front Big brakes at front, with vented cross drilled discs ae86 discs brakes at rear Quaife quick ratio steering ( about Longer control arms ae86 rear axle with LSD ( it may need to be reconditioned sometime in the near future ) stiffer springs and bilstein shocks at rear.. The tailshaft is not yet mounted and the electrical system is untouched, so I will soon be finished with the conversion

okay hehe, ( mine is also left hand drive ) who wants spagetti for dinner? this is on the engine loom, connected to the main loom.. do I need this to run the engine? if so, what should I connect it to? or is it impossible to run the engine without the main loom? what is this? it's on the ECU.. do I need to connect it to make the engine run?
-
okay, maybe 'carpet' it, using some sort of carpet for subwoofer box, I think that will look great :) but as demuire said, change the whole loom.. I've just used 30 to 1 hour comparing the two cars. things like dash, lights, etc won't fit, because of different plugs.. what should I do about that? and changing the whole loom, is that the whole loom, including fuse boxes, etc? I think that's alot of work with no gain what so ever..? correct me if i'm wrong but I just don't see the point when acording to club4ag I can just connect the engine loom to the ecu, connect 3-5 cables from my old main loom to the ecu and that's it? wiring diagram also: do you have any ideas of where I could mount the ECU? it doesn't seem to be enough space where it is in the ae86.. maybe only put it in the glovebox?
-
yeah, great, I will move everything over to the ke70 does anybody know if the dashboard fits or could be fitted in a simple way? or do you guys just think it'll look stupid? ( I want builtin tachometer ) :)
-
hmm... I need to know exactly what to do with the EFI wiring thingy do I only need to connect everything from the engine to the EFI, and then connect + and ground to the third plug on the EFI? or is it more? if so, tell me now! :) else I will just scratch my head all weekend and not getting finished before monday
-
it's nothing wrong with the ae86 except it's 3 times more expenssive insurance than the ke70... the ke70 is also in much better shape than the ae86, ( rust ) and I have to pay waaaaaay to much money to get license plates on it, and I won't risk weld on the ke70 chassi number on the ae86... the ke70 is also a lighter car, so it will go faster :) I also think it's nice to have a real sleeper, instead of a car everybody want to steal..

My 2T-B engine is seriously leaking oil, about 1 litre a day, the starter is dead, and many other problems so I've decided to move all the parts from the ae86 ( 170hp 4age, big front brakes, coilovers suspension, hydraulic handbrake, rear axle with limited slip and rollcage if it fits ) so therefore I have some questions that might already been answered, but I couldn't find it. ae86 parts, ke70 car engine, front suspension, steering components, crossmember = bolt on gearbox and gearbox crossmember = bolt on tailshaft = bolt on or does it need to be shortened? rear axle = bolt on fuel tank with built-in pump = same size, so I'll guess it will fit? anyone done this before? what should I do about the wiring to the fuel pump? fuel lines, return line and brake lines = I guess I could use my old brake lines at front, but what about the rear? And what about the fuel lines, my old wouldn't be thick enough I guess? and the EFI ( CRAP ), everything in the ae86 is working, so I just hope it isn't very much cables not from the engine that goes to the EFI is it? exhaust will fit without much trouble I guess.. I guess that is about all.. any comments, questions or ideas will be apriciated I originaly planed to be finished within a month or so, but now I'm really in a hurry because my 2T-B engine is dead :\, so I plan to atleast take everything out of the ae86 this weekend, maybe even be finished, I just don't know how many hours of work this will take me and yes, I will take pictures :)
-
uhm.. the black one is the same car as the white.. I repainted it.. The round lights I'm gonna fit again, but I'm gonna have 4 of them I think.. ( if I can afford two more) I came over a old old picture of the car, I almost forgot how used to look before hehe Picture

I want to get a LSD for my ke70, and I assume the ae86 rear axle with LSD will fit? is they the same length? I know the springs and shocks will fit, but do I need to alter the location of where they are mounted?
-
battery is allready in the boot my ae86 has alot negative camber, alot toe-out, quaife quick ratio steering and small sparco steering wheel, longer lower control arms, bilstein shocks, coilovers, unknown stiffness at the springs, ( maybe too stiff ) and it's great to drive, too hard on the steering wheel when driving slow.. maybe alittle unstable at speed but much better than my ke70 :moon: my ke70 is also alot lower at back than front, so weight balance would be better but is it true that if it's lower at the back the car accelerates quicker? and handles better if the car is lower at the front?
-
that is for the hood lock, you have to use those tabs if you have hood locks when driving on the road or rallying because the hood lock has sharp edges so you can cut someone if you hit them or something hehe
-
I'm not a expert on suspension setups so I'll just ask here to hear what you guys have to say to this ke70 2 door: slightly heavyer front because of the 2T-B engine, T50 gearbox and stock rear axle with welded locked diff removed all the sound deadening, carpets etc, that made the car less heavyer 205/50R15 tyres on alloy wheels lowered a bit at the front and alittle bit more at the back I want the car to slightly oversteer instead of understeering like it is now ( yes I know I should remove the locked diff or get a LSD ) the car is a daily driver, but I want to have some fun too :moon: so a fast streeter is the goal for this car.. slightly stiffer shocks both at front at the back slightly stiffer springs, almost the same stiffness at front and back? a few degrees toe-out? a few degrees negative camber? should I change the caster much? can caster be measured with "suspension shop-tools" ? :)
-
the blue car is sold allready :moon: so I guess I'll just have to search some more..
-
I actually painted my ke70 a while ago but didn't get any pictures before now
-
I have some dents at my right front fender, and I have come across this part car that's for sale but the lights, hood, fenders and front bumber is different, so I have to change it all if I'm gonna buy this ke70.. or should I just search and wait to I get the 'right' one? maybe new: current one:
-
I don't know how much for the brakes, it followed the car when I bought it.. expenssive I guess.. demiure: they are like brembo's only a different brand... have serious stopping power I guess I need new discs since mine are really f@$ked, and new pads for street use, since the racing pads I have on them need to be really hot to work at all..
-
if you have money enough you could buy bremsport calipers and big vented and cross drilled discs.. that is what I have on my ae86, I think the bremsport calipers are from a celica of some kind, and the mounts for the calipers are modified... really expenssive shit. but hey, it works great! ( only a couple of mm clearing for the wheels when I'm using 15" .. )

happy birthday!
