  1. how many hp is the stock 4age clutch capable of?.. I have serious problems with slippage now.. 1st 2nd and 3th gear.. on high rpm ( 6-8k ) if I give full throttle the clutch will slipp..
  2. do not thighten the bolt too much.. I managed to break one of the flywheel bolts yesterday as I was changing the flywheel #¤% had to weld a new bolt to the rest to remove it from the crank, luckely it worked :P on my old 2T engine I managed to break one of the pressure plate bolts..
  3. happy birthday!:D
  4. it's a ke70, not te70, te70 don't exist in norway as far as I know. and the only corolla with T engines was the liftback model T18 don't paint it that color, choose any color but not panda.. hehe search for the picture and you will understand why. I think I saw it on a japanese webpage or something..
  5. I've seen a picture of a ke70 painted like that before.. didn't look any good at all very ugly
  6. I was gonna change the throwoutbearing this weekend, and then I checked the clutch.. so I have to ask.. does racing clutches like mine wear out faster than normal clutches? since I have to buy a new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.. I want something better.. trd 212mm sinter clutch.. I've read that the 212mm clutch and flywheel fit T50 gearboxes, but have anyone actually tested?
  7. it seems it's leaking out of the rubber where the yoke from the tailshaft goes in.. maybe also from the bellhousing.. but I guess it will hold together 1 month or so.. I just have to fill oil a couple times a week until I get the quaife gearbox fixed..
  8. I'm gonna buy or make some new bushes so I have some options: the cheapest option would be to make some new bushes out of nylon or buy some stock rubber bushes from toyota or buy some polyflex shit that is 30% stiffer.. etc.. I'm only upgrades bushes for the rear axle right now, I will take the front later.. I guess the polyflex shit that is really expenssive would be the best option, but how much better would it be than nylon bushes? have anyone tryed making theyr own bushes out of nylon? or something similar? noise, vibration etc wouldn't be a problem, all I want is less wheel hop... I can get nylon bushes for a sixpack of beer, but polyflex would cost me 20 times more..
  9. Haven't really done very much too the car the last weeks except changing the gearbox, to a 20 splines gearbox from my old 2T-B engine, which is also dying very soon :D it's really hard to change to 2nd and 4th gear, and it's leaking a bit oil, so I often have to refill oil.. I have removed some rust, and since they stolen my cd player I removed the antenna, looks much better without it.. I have also painted the car some more, and will do a proper paintjob this time I have also looked at a partcar that will go to the wreckers in 2 months, so I will buy it before then, that one has a nicer front than mine, since I crashed with a bus a while ago#¤% making fibreglass bonnet, fenders etc, and get some flares I'm also gonna buy lexan/plexi to use on the 3 rear windows which one does you prefer? I'm gonna lower the car this weekend, cutting rear springs won't be a problem since they are much stiffer than standard springs, and adjusting front springs.. I really need some flares! and ride height is higher than stock :D removed some rust:
  10. ae86 - ke70 seats fits eachother if you try really hard.. hehe
  11. this guy from denmark claims he have a 450hp 4agte, but I don't think that rwhp.. 450hp 4agte
  12. how do I fix this axle tramp thing.. I don't think there is anything wrong with my rear suspension? stiffer springs than standard ( not choped ) bilstein shocks that works well haven't mounted the sway-bar yet but that wouldn't affect this would it?
  13. progress is going slow it's raining else it's too damn hot to do any work! but I have started removing some rust and painting inside the car there is not much rust, but I want to remove all of it so it doesn't get any worse than it already are I have also mounted the damn nice red part between the cam covers and later I will get the cam covers powder painted black I think, ( not 100% sure about the color ) neat?:abuse: but I really have to do something about my wiring.. so damn ugly :jamie: I also need to secure my air filter alittle better.. it always jumps off when I'm doing a burnout.. the rear wheel are still jumping when I'm doing a stand still, is it suposed to do that? or is something really wrong.. got a bit better after I changed the gearbox mounts but it's still annoying.. if I do a skid on dry road there is no problems with this jumping rear wheels stupid thing :\ ?
  14. is it time to change plugs when they look like these? :jamie: they was in my spare 2T engine I have in my garage
  15. I'm not sure about that, but I will ask him when he gets back from his vacation.. but I guess you would not see soo much difference in a 4k or 4age, because that engine was highly modifyed that engine would cost him about 15k USD if he didn't get sponsored, so he only had to pay half the price.. and therefor the cost of spark plugs doesn't really mather much, since he buy new spark plugs for every race he drives.. ohh you should have heard the sound of that engine.. very angry;) can't even compare it to my 4age which also sounds a bit angry with my current exhaust setup
  16. a friend of mine tested different spark plugs on his volvo 240, b23 2399ccm rally car on dyno there was something like: cheap spark plugs 270 something rwhp ngk spark plugs about 4hp more than the cheap ones some kind of motorsport expensive plugs 7hp more than the cheap ones but the expensive plugs did cost 4 times the price of ngk plugs I don't remember the name, but I will ask him he actually have to change plugs when the engine is warm to get more hp out of it.. I'm using bosch plugs with 4 things instead of one in my 4age, the plugs are a bit old so I guess I should buy some new someday
  17. I guess I wont have any brake clearance problems with rims like those hahaha
  18. why would I want that? to make the gear level crash with the handbrake I haven't mounted yet? hehe the old 2T-B/T50 was a bit wrong, could be 2-3cm more to the back, but the gear level on the 4age/t50 mounted up perfect!
  19. holy shit add postage and that's almost as much as I have to pay for the whole gearbox :( any modifications needed to the transmision tunnel?
  20. I have some questions, maybe answered before, or maybe I should post this in general mechanical forum but since it's for this car I post it here.. W58 gearbox won't fit a 4AGE without new bellhousing, but is there any bellhousing out there at all? how many splines is the input / output shaft on that gearbox, should I use ae86 or ke70 tailshaft? or do I have to get a tailshaft from the W58 car? does this gearbox weight much more than a T50? or should I use another gearbox than the W58? alot of questions there.. but I'm just a little curious since there is a used W58 gearbox for sale pretty cheap here in norway.. the quaife gearbox cost more money to fix than buying that W58 gearbox.. and it's really horrible to drive in the city with.. the 1. gear is almost the same as a stock t50 2nd gear, try start your car with 4age that has absolutely no torque under 5000rpm in 2nd gear uphill! :(
  21. awesome what kind of engine are you gonna use? 4age? I'm just wondering, was the ae86 dash a direct bolt in, or did you need to make new bolt holes etc? what about the electrical plugs for tacho, speedometre etc, or haven't you done that yet?
  22. Happy Birthday :(
  23. nope.. doesn't drift! need freeflow filter and bigger exhaust! and maybe some stickers
  24. maybe? :) but I guess it's not as predictable as a locker!
  25. what are you really making here? something to put under the car? under the engine room? to protect the sump to not hit the ground or rocks?
