  1. sorry but the tail lights are destroyed by the previous owner and the driveshaft I need for myself now I got the enginebay in the ke70 painted.. started to fit all the parts again I did also modify the clutch pedal using te72 pedalbox with ae86 pedal giving me 1-2mm clearance between the brake booster and clutch pump, I had a big problem with the clutch pedal before on my previous setup.. also did reinforce the firewall with a 2mm plate around the clutch pump.. I've also started to sort out the suspension... more info later before the engine goes in I also have to make new brake lines for the front and rear for wilwood adjusting valve and hydraulic handbrake also got new lights
  2. now I've bought another car LOL it's a te72 liftback :) it's imported from USA in 1982.. the car from '80 so I guess it has a very funny diff ratio that is 100% unusable it got a 3T engine with T50 gearbox, the engine doesn't run, and I haven't really checked out what's wrong with it yet, but it seems that it doesn't have compression.. anyway.. 3T engines wasn't a option here in norway so it's very rare.. so I'm thinking about maybe building a 3T-G and bore it to 2liter instead of the 4A-GE turbo.. the car was owned by a 13year old kid that DESTROYED it ;) so I'm just going to remove all the parts that's worth saving then send the car to the wreckers so I get my money back it also had some nice wheels that I'm going to clean up.. does anyone know the name on them?? here's a picture of the ugly car
  3. I've got the TE71 now.. the deal was that I was getting the chassis, and another guy here wanted the 2T-B, gearbox, rear axle and front suspension so I changed the engine and suspension for him as part of the price for the car well anyway, I got a few ke70 spare rear axles, so I mounted one of them and I also got a front suspension that was in very good condition with only 2 months old new calipers, brake discs and pads, and wheel bearings that I mounted on the TE71.. I also changed to the 2T-G engine I had in my KE70 but I don't have a picture of it yet the plan is to build a 4A-GE turbo engine, and I have gathered most of the parts: turbomanifold, t25 turbo, rods, but I'm missing GZE pistons, GZE injectors and a fuel management.. I'm most likely going to use the VEMS ECU as you can see the rear wheel arches has alot of rust so they need to be changed, and I'm also going to paint the car.. keeping it clean and oldschool! I've also bought a 1981 hilux 4wd with the 18R engine very cheap.. the engine isn't running very well so I have to change that first I adjusted the valves, bought new rotor and distributor cap and changed the spark plugs and guess what I found??? probably the part missing has destroyed the piston or valve so the engine is only running og 3 cylinders.. :P luckely I know a guy that has a few 18R engine so I will buy one from him for cheap my KE70 getting seamwelded at the moment and when I'm done with that I'm changing back to the 4A-GE!! the AE86 is untouched, same with the 4x4 project and the flares
  4. the 4k engine is now tested on ethanol! E85 ( 85% ethanol ) it started after a while, but we had to adjust the carb to make it idle on it's own I guess it need some fine adjusting to make it run perfect :(
  5. yeah! not very much has happend to the car lately, except that I have changed to the 2T-G engine because our stupid laws here in norway about engine conversion etc but I will swap back to the 4A-GE as soon as I get it road legal with 2T-G/1600ccm in the owners book I was at the MOT test today but they found some stupid that doesn't exist like rims not legal which they are!(15x6,5"ET18) and the bumpers removed also stripped the car for spot welding, not finished with that yet I've also bought a AE86 shell that I'm going to build a rallycross car ( like rally around a gravel track with 5 cars competing against eachother ) using a 3S-GE engine that I also have bought, but I'm going to use a 4.gen altezza head + some cams and using some sort of cheap engine management aiming for 250hp+ possible hilux rear axle with LSD, shimmed, W5* gearbox that I will soon get, with coilovers etc I've also got or let's say will get since I've not paid or picked it up yet, a TE71 coupe shell that I'm going to use this as a daily driver, but I'm not 100% sure with what engine I'm going to use yet with the front spoiler that is on the car, fender mirrors, lowering it alittle + some 14 or 15" wheels from that era, maybe GT rear wing if I can get it I think that might be a cool car! and build the white ke70 even more as a hardcore track car
  6. hehe, I don't think so there isn't many ke70 left in norway, and most of them are 2 doors, I guess it's the same for denmark, sweden and finland too norway and sweden didn't get any ae86, but now it's popular to import them from denmark
  7. :( looks very good! I've noticed that there doesn't exist many red ke70's? so, what are the plans? 4A-GE? only te71 gt got t series with 9" drums, ke70 got 8"
  8. some used bucket seats made of kevlar( very lightweight ) FIA expired but we are not going to compete in any events that requires that.. fancy colors? :D who needs space for the gear level? removed some rust :( the box is a template of the fuel tank we're gonna make in aluminium abit wider than stock.. I THINK we need some flares, probably trd n2 flares? or maybe some "bolt-on" flares like the te27 has
  9. E85 is soon to come here in Norway and I'm thinking of converting my 4A-GE cheaper fuel and more hp here I come!! I'll also test how many % ethanol the 4k engine will run on just for fun! :)
  10. I don't remember the price, but they was cheap.. got both of them from ebay, the guy that sold them did use 4k engines in small racing boats I'll see if I can find some pictures of it later.. we are not gonna use the head gasket because it's 84mm bore.. alittle too much hehe I've never heard of that problem with copper gasket you're discribing before..
  11. the te27 TTE ( Toyota Team europe ) WRC/ Gr.B rally car they won the 1000 Lakes Rally in '75 actually had leaves AND equal length 4link arms! that's the first production rally car toyota used.. with the 151E engine ( 16v 2tg ) I'll post a picture of it later
  12. if you want to see how he welded that conrod and what tools he was using download this: macgyver.avi 5MB
  13. forgot to close the damn window %¤#¤&: radiator from audi 200 quattro did fit nicely: created battery box:
  14. stripping the car: air condition: alot of crap: seamwelding:
  15. haven't taken alot of pictures yet, is just gathering parts and stripping and seam welding the car at the moment also trying to figure out what centerdiff to use.. the tercel has something like front/rear 60/40.. but I want 60% at rear! I could might use the same setup as the 240 racecar: bmw centerdiff, vw golf frontdiff and volvo rear axle
  16. I'm still not finished with the bodykit / flares yet.. it takes VERY long time to do.. but stay tuned.. it will be finished before summer sometime else there isn't much work done to the car lately, but I'm going to sweden next weekend to get my dogshift gearbox repaired, as well transporting a new engine to my friend with a 4x4 240 turbo race car with 580wheel hp! I have also plans about building a new engine ( 4A-GE NA ).. aiming for 200hp+ as well a weight diagram to get the car down to 693kg excluded fuel and myself ( + 40-50kg, for the 10 point rollcage ) but I'm not sure about using 16v or 20v head..? 20v head cost less than shims under bucket for the 16v.. hehe :\ as well as some other projects.. can't tell you much yet.. but I can tell you this: 4x4 ke70 4agte, gze rods, piston, hks manifold, 3sgte turbo, etc.. tercel 4x4 front suspension and rear axle, this is going to be my new winter car :jamie: aiming for 300hp I don't think this has been done before? :D also me and a friend has also started a new starlet project: kp60 starlet, 3sgte engine, aiming for 500hp, but we will start with something more realistic untill we get to know the car.. ( about 300hp ) problems: sump is crashing with crossmember and steering rack.. so we decided to make it MID MOUNTED 3sgte with mr2 turbo rear suspension! :P hoping to get this car finished untill summer..
  17. nope, 84mm would be too much :P we're gonna use a 4k or 5k block with a 4k or 3k bigport head so.. 5k has dished pistons, that means we had to get new pistons.. any suggestion what we could use? 4age pistons if we bore it to 81mm? 1S pistons = 80.5mm bore or 4k block using 77mm bore with 1gge piston and conrods? currently looking at a 280 degrees camshaft.. want peak power at 7500 - 8000..
  18. they are for 3k/4k engine.. also got a head gasket from ebay but it seems it was for 84mm bore :P
  19. got the valve springs today.. not dual.. but triple :P
  20. Hello, we're going to build a 4k engine to use in a kp61 starlet. but since there is noone that sells cams for the 4k engine here in norway, I wondered about if any of you had a new / second hand cam I could buy? or a email adress to a shop that sells new cams in australia? we also need some valve springs to suit, I've read that it's possible to use springs from a chevy engine? but which of them should I start looking at? the engine is going to be around 100hp+, and we're using a weber 32/36... any suggestions? :( I also need a extractor / header, but I don't know if any of you can help because of the very little clearance due to the steering linkage.. :)
  21. what wheels are you going to use? volvo? or are you going to convert the axles to 4x114,3? :)
  22. it's going to look nice! I wish I got twin headlights! :\
  23. I've also spraypainted the dashboard black matt: and I've gathered a couple of extra lights to use: here's a few pictures of the TTE ta64 rally car: my ke70 will look very similar to this:
  24. here's some pictures of the progress: with 1000 hours work I might get finished :)
  25. no, I'm using ae86 arms, but they are 100% identical to ke70 arms..
