  1. Considering a stock 4KC only makes ~60HP at the flywheel, and you've probably got ~80-90HP at the flywheel, you've got a very significant gain (40-50%) there.....
  2. GZEs swapped the alternator over to the exhaust side because of the supercharger
  3. Tell me about it. Cat knocked the keyboard tray off the computer desk the other night right before I was about to start cooking dinner.....of course I cancelled all cooking plans and spent the next half hour trying to pop little ball bearings back into the runners - did I stop when I got the bare minimum 4 back in? Of course not, I had to make sure that all 16 found their home properly so that it would slide smoothly
  4. I thought the slope of the back-end didn't quite look right...
  5. NB Coupe? Dem's rare-as
  6. I thought AFM came in _before_ Series II?
  7. Z3 Coupe/Smurf Hearse anyone?
  8. I've some reeaaally dodgy stuff in the workshops at work, such as the 60T overhead crane being used to hang a continuous miner gathering head (think a giant flat dozer blade/shovel with big rotating crab-arms on it) wedged against a plate welded to the floor whilst a forklift gets a running start to try and rip a busted cylinder out... Also, anytime you hear the word "Franna" around the workshop, just run. Something is always dodgy when a Franna is involved
  9. Upload all the things? That's at work, I'll run it again at home (I think home gets roughly the same download, waaay worse upload though
  10. That's because I don't like over-the-top HDR, especially on white cars (they tend to go grey and molten)
  11. New DSLR = new photos time... Taken out the front of the new western grandstand at NISC/Marathon/EnergyAustralia/Ausgrid/Hunter Stadium
  12. http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/handle.asp Punching/drilling the hole is legit, only stealing 1 or 2 things and then using the GPS/rego to rob the home is BS.
  13. Flycuts wouldn't have been ideal either...
  14. I assume you would be urnning 16v pistons as well?
  15. I just wish we had more tastefully modified AE10xs, period...
  16. Fairly sure you can run a silvertop with open trumpets if you use a blacktop ECU, MAP sensor and a few other things, cheaper/more reliable than aftermareket
  17. WMMH: got me one of those new-fangled photo-taker thingies D5100, 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses, Lowepro twin lens bag, two Hoya UV filters, 16gig class 10 SDHC card, and a 3 year extended warranty, signed sealed delivered and mine for $1k from Harvey Norman
  18. That's an old style HKS gear, the newer ones (which don't have the fugly blue) supposedly have fixed the problem
  19. Sure she didn't just think it was Alexis (which is a perfectly acceptable name, and is actually a classical Greek name albeit for a guy)?
  20. Find someone with a similar-vintage Toyota and try their key. I locked the keys in the KE55 at uni one day, tried all sorts of tricks that failed (I didn't want to break anything though) until the guy who owned the SV21 parked next to me went to leave, tried his key in the lock and it worked perfectly.... Most 80s lock barrels are so shagged by now that you can almost turn them with a screwdriver.
  21. Problem is that Toyodiy doesn't actually list the proper Australian-made AE101s/102s, so there is no guarantee that the numbers are right...
  22. You need to be careful with brakes though, since the Australian models were actually made here they thus sourced components from Australian suppliers, thus the discs and drums of an ADM model might be slightly different to that of a JDM one (like how Australian-made KE55/70s had a Girlock front brake caliper whereas the JDM ones had a Sumitomo? one)
  23. I'd take the opportunity to swap in rear discs, only the base Australian models (1.6 Csi) had rear drums so find a wrecked Conquest or higher and swap everything over
  24. My First HDR Image :P Got a tripod the other day (going on a cruise to NZ next week and I want to take some good deck shots of the sounds + harbours), decided to test it out in the uni carpark (I live a couple of blocks away) An OK effort I reckon, a little too soft/cold and the whites are a tiny bit washed out (didn't adjust picture position at all, plus the resize meant that resolution + some sharpness was lost) but not too bad, better that than the opposite of a heavily saturated, un-natural colour look, and it can only get better from here
