  1. Especially since modern WRC cars have the navigator positioned so low that they can't actually see out the window (and therefore can't visually anticipate accidents, they have to "feel" them)
  2. http://www.mrpltd.co.nz/product/269/corolla-ae82-2f-ae92.html
  3. Probably due to the number that get sold for fleet/hire/novated lease purposes, which has always been one of the big problems with Falcon/Commodore resale (that and they release a "limited edition" model every second week with more kit for the same money as a base model, which instantly de-values all the standard ones already sold)
  4. Server issues I think
  5. Isn't that just called a 7K? :P
  6. Bumpers are also designed to be first point-of-contact in a pedestrian impact - they are at a height to hit around the knee area and ensure that the pedestrian lands on the bonnet rather than getting dragged under the car. No bumpers would most likely mean hip-level contact which is much worse. Plus, there are a lot of sharp edges exposed when you take bumpers off
  7. Had some time to kill after Cara got admitted to hospital so went down to Newcastle Beach and the Ocean Baths to catch some afternoon shadow (makes photos of water sooo much easier when you're not fighting glare) And some scenic shots whilst I was there too
  8. Stumpy would work better, plus if instead of cutting the bow of the key off you just trim it to the same width as the blade, that way it gives you extra length which can be sunk into a drilled-out screwdriver handle and set with epoxy etc, much stronger that way. Also good idea to put a tiny eyelet in the end so you can still attach keyrings etc
  9. Except it doesn't seem to match any of the standard AE10x exhaust heat shields...
  10. Latest mods, and probably final for a long time (not my photos) ZZT231/RS200/IS200 pedals (only installed brake and clutch so far, accelerator requires a tiny bit of work, probably just buy a second pedal arm and do it outside the car) Keylight ring (pictured with additional downlighting, which I don't have)
  11. Doesn't look like a standard AE10x exhaust heat shield
  12. It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times...
  13. Ahh that makes a bit more sense now...
  14. Nah it'll be the same (as long as it's a sedan), I've got an AE102R too (that picture is off an overseas one as it has seperate tail and brake lights rather than our combined ones, just means the wiring is a little different and one globe holder is blanked off on ours) Pictures would tell a thousand words, I'll have a look at mine when I leave work (carpet is always pulled away on my passenger side as I need it to get to the petrol flap butterfly)
  15. These clips (the two on the right that look like little bullets?
  16. Do you mean the bullet clips that hold the light into the body of the car? If so, then you just need brute force, make sure you're pulling/pushing the light directly away from the car (ie straight back), not to the sides, otherwise they can bend and snap. Once you get them off the first time it makes subsequent efforts much easier (both from learning and from the clips coming out easier). Another option is maybe giving the studs inside the boot a bit of a love tap, but nothing too hard as you don't want to crack the plastic rear housing (if the clips bend/break then the studs and nuts are the only thing holding the light in)
  17. Conspiracy or debunk website? I love debunk websites almost as much as I hate conspiracy theory ones.
  18. AE101 Levin/Trueno coilovers fit AE111 (Levin/Trueno), it is essentially the same chassis. Since they're not superstrut they'll also fit the Australian-delivered AE101/102/112 as well
  19. So Cara's up in Townsville for the week so I've been having the pleasure of driving Lexi every day...decided I'd reward her with a bath and some happy snaps
  20. I think the funniest thing is the L-plate in the front and back windscreens...
  21. Also, don't drive water the morning after/during the night, drink Gatorade. Electrolytes are going to be waaay out from too much pissing and not enough food, plus the sugar gives you some much needed energy and taste, and it's flat so you don't have fizzy bubbles upsetting your stomach. I don't drink anywhere near as often as I used to, and when I do I don't drink as much - must be due to this weird 3-0 thing that I'm counting down the days to.
  22. Latest JayDeeEmm accessory: Doesn't seem to have memory so if it was running before you turn the car off it doesn't turn back on automatically when you restart (apparently it has some kind of learning function so maybe it just needs time)
