  1. hmm weird, they do it on a dyno. shouldnt get coked up unless somethings wrong anyway!
  2. a de-coke is taking off the head and cleaning it...... check ya timming
  3. try taking the handbrake off!! f250s waaaaaaaay out grunt hiluxs! the currant model hilux loooks good, in sr5 form, must have the colour coded bumpers though. the demand was for bigger hiluxs, also more power.... but they still don't tow enough
  4. mechanical=clutch pack :D you must mean torsen.....
  5. they will eb a few around, not common though, hardcore importing didnt start till the mid to late 80s
  6. they have their uses.... and if you can't keep one in a lane then you shouldnt be driving! they even fit our piss ant roads! and whos doesnt want to drive a big f**k off v10 :D i drove a dodge ram with the 5.7 magnum... very cool
  7. tough? the previous model never looked tough! f250, now thats tough!
  8. yeah reworking it can be done, if ya know what ya doing, and so far iv only heard of the blutop being done. the thing is toyota dotn make their ecus with data stored on chips.. its all part of the circuit boards, so you can't write a new chip and swap them
  9. you can forget about rechipping ANY toyota ecu.... piggy back yes, rebuild, if ya good. but chipping in the normal sense can't be done with them
  10. yup they are both race cars too, but you could do it road legal. and there is nothing wrong with fwd levins, iv got a JDM 20v ae101, and it would totally own a ke70. but thats not really a fair comparison.... lets compare it to a wrx then... oh owned again! :kiwi: fwd>rwd and 4wd untill you get to silly power :D
  11. yeah easy to convert, just swing it around! don't bother with finding ae86 waterpumps etc, don't need them. and seeing as your gunna turbo it youll need a custom intake anyway, so no worries there.... as for parts, no problem at all. what do you want? and as jamie said, even a 7afe would be good, torque...... its what you need :P
  12. some ones jealous :P dry sumps are good :D
  13. we struck a wee prob with flirtys 4k.... the 2nd block we tried to use had been bored out.... to take mazda pistons! i wasnt there when it was measuered but the local machine shop reckon you coul dhave stucj ya finger through it in places! :P
  14. if i wasnt planning a move, the doing would be happening..... when comparing the ca18 to a 7age... remember the uses we're talking about here... a fairly decent build.... id still go the 7age, then again id still go 7age if i was offered an rb26!! :P
  15. over here, i can get you one for $20k nz. if you supply an ae101 shell, and a 2jzgte. let me know if your keen
  16. yeah but takumi races skylines! :P
  17. yup FA 4age, was looking at one the other day, they use different cam covers, and for that matter just about different everything, and they are limited to quite a bit lower than 12000rpm. more like 9500-10000 the guys running the TRS car we sponser all just came back from running atlantics in the states. oh and they would be unussable on the road!
  18. that would keep me happy :P mmm ultima, i want to have sex with that car
  19. :P
  20. thats funny.... that lookes like justin on the right... and a white ke70 in the background... those are definitly aussie sheep too... you can tell by the way they are standing still, they're used to it! hmm i think thats a shot from your family album! :D :P
  21. bahahahhahhaha! look! its a muppet ^ :D
  22. well the bypass is a boost controller..... i don't see why you could make one work on a switch to open earlier or later acording to what you want
  23. oh and NEVER EVER EVER EVER play with the coating on the 4agze pistons, is uber tricky ceramics and is very good at keeping heat in the combustion chamber and prevent the pistons from melting :D
  24. oh dear.... well hes wrong on a few points..... 20v has more valve area..... theres no real difference in the injector swap or making a plenum..... no problem tuning multi throttle turbos... HEAPS do it.... hd springs is totoal rubbish, there are hundreds if not thousands of 20v turbos in nz... many on stock OLD springs. iv NEVER heard of valve float being a problem. nor have i heard of any thermal problems on stock NON turbo cooling systems... and finally the valve cuts..... with that statement he proves hie 4age n00bnes... the 4agze pistons are MILES lower than 20v ones, the blacktop barely has any cut outs on pop top pistons, the 4agze has DISHED ones.... at the very worst it becomes an interferance engine, so don't snap a cam belt :D where is this guy? sounds like hes in the states.....
  25. thatll be casue they are often over looked, and kits are still not cheap outside of japan. very very popular on mustangs in the states (centrifugal type) huge power!
