  1. depends how they do it..... theres a class here called OSCA. Open Saloon Car Associaton basiclly run what ya brung.... a favorite of these were vauxhall vivas with 350 chevs in them. they handled very well. what you need to do though, is recess it into the firewall, move that weight back! look at your super saloon class.....
  2. can i co..... no better not
  3. nick, nick, nick..... its "please don't come again"
  4. the morgan plus 4 ran from the 30s, and is (or was until very recently) still being made. i guess they probably stopped for ww2 though, but the beetle wasnt started untill the end of the war..... yep the mustang smashed a few records... if you add all the camaros, firebirds, javlins etc etc (pony class cars) ever made, the mustang still out numbers them all. and its still going.... where all the others are dead
  5. a v6 is more compact then a inline 6... and the vg30 is still a POS
  6. nick! no! thay are such a POS
  7. the map 4agze runs a different pulley, not sure on the boost increase. yes still 9.4:1  doing the waterpump etc at the mo, after that, its dyno time
  8. the 20 series are horrible ont he road! you may not notice it so much there casue of your lack of real roads  but i had to drive a v6 wagon to chch (about 400kays) the flatdeck hilux i drove back was FAR FAR FAR more fun..... i certainly didnt notice any "punch" from the V6 in saying that, they seem to be a pretty good rep/family wagon. the old 21 series were truely horrible. the new ones are ugly, but are FUN to drive, the base model 2.4 manual is cool
  9. looks like we have similar plans.... I'm running an sc12 on a stock internaled ae92 bigport engine.... has aw11 s/c ecu etc, will be dynoing it with in a coupla months, so ill let ya know how it goes. after iv sorted the suspension il be looking at building another engine, and i had sc14 in mind too....
  10. yep same, i was skeptical untill i saw it, and learnt the guy who built was an ex TWR engine builder..... and it works. but bear in mine everything is this engine is designed to work at 8-10k rpm
  11. service crew member for richard mason (top contender in the NZRC) and will be running in the local car clubs autocross/grasskhana series
  12. 0.5mm is for 16v only. not sure of the raise in compression, i don't trust my maths that much. but if you want to work it out, the stock gasket is 1.2mm. both measurements are when torqued up. i have a mate with an n/a smallport that pushes out over 200hp, to do that they FILLED in a small port head.... the ports in a bigport are HUGE, thats a hell of a lot of airflow.... i know of plenty of 4agtes with over 250hp, and most if not all iknow of first hand use 20v or small port heads. thats not to say you can't make that power with a bigport.... one thing i do know is, the secret is compression, and you seem to be on to that :)
  13. keep telling yourself that, but if you want it to be true you may wanna rub a lamp at the same time :)
  14. another vote for the a12 here.... better than the equiv k series imo. they make heaps more grunt than they should! but they are both good.... its like a choice between that chick who plays marissa off the OC or katie holmes, either way youll be a happy man :)
  15. don't use a bigport, they are too big.... small port will be fine, as will 20v, i think the blacktop one is better for boost.. or is it the other way around? i forget. 85-9000 on stock ae101 rods will be fine, bit of a shotpeen and polish is all you will need. and ARP rodbolts. don't even think of not using those.... also a TRD 0.5mm head gasket should be used, will help raise the comp and will hold together better
  16. carrying on with that eh? i thought they were sticking the rotor back in it for racing? that went real well at the 4 and rotors for somethng that had just been slapped together... the 1uzfe is uber strong.....
  17. you will never convince a rotary fan. need evidence: count how many dead rotors there are.... but lets not get into that agin.... whatever you choose, 10s is serious cash
  18. come on, that sucked as a comeback :)
  19. thats what i ment :) aw poor winkys still blocked up
  20. didnt i have a figure of 15-20 before? :)
  21. and the niva is known for its reliability
  22. a 4agze will rev as high as a non s/c 4age, its the s/c and ecu that limits the revs... as they have the same rods and crank its not a mechanical limitation
  23. well all options would cost big bucks.... mate of mine has a ke70 that does 12.3 with a turbo 20v..... and thats got some serious power.... youd be looking at 400hp at least to do a 10... so unless you have 10k to spend on the engine......
  24. i new that before they were even going to make the latest 3... but its a good movie, better than the last 2. worth seeing
  25. haha nice one, but you obviosuly swapped around the characters.... :)
