don't give up so easily on the 4y..... they are a good torquey motor, and not that different form a k series in diamensions. you may find the van box will work, toyota use the same gearboxs in some vans as some cars... like the w series... a bit of measuring and poking around in a wreckers yard is what you need to do

uuummm... no..... -7 is too much for anything! you need more front end grip, trust me try 3-4 max and see what happens... anymore and you will lose front end grip... not all cars alter camber that much when turning... and bodyroll does play a big part in it.. think about how things move....

you can run the 20v head on a 4agze shortblock with no problems. no need to waste $$$ on custom pistons etc. just stick it on and away you go. been done hundreds of times

right.. where do i start.... mikey, your in the states arent you? we use RON over here, you use PON. your 91 is equal to our 96. now, ae101 levins are designed for 100 RON octane fuel. NEVER NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE 91. i can only get 96 here, and have had to knock the static timming back to 8 deg on mine (on 100 its 10deg) so your prob will have been the knock sensor going nuts. fill it with 98. once you get rid of the 91 it should correct itself. the knocking noise you can hear could be the vvt pulley, they do fail.

its been running like that for a year or so now. 4ages can handle quite a bit of boost stock. i think youl ahve probs running 15psi in a sc12.... they start to become unreliable at around 12 i think..... the small port head is superior to the big port. youd have to be pushing some serious boost and power to make a bogport head work properly! i even know of a small port thats had the ports filled to give best results....

if you can find an import...... thing to remember with corollas is that ALL body shapes had all options..... cept for ae92 wagons. ae101 and ae111 wagons however did have all options, as in 4age and 6 speed etc. so getting back to the ae82..... yes the sedans had dics, they were the same as the hatchs brakes. but really your best mod would be to change the fluid and fit some decent front pads, if thats not enough, fit better tyres and back sure your suspension works ok. if you can lock uo ya wheels easy, then you don't need more braking power, you need more grip.... btw, my comments are based on a few different markets, i can't say if oz spec rollas had discs etc

when i asked about taking my levin to aus, i got quoted $2000 shipping, and $1000 agents fee.... that was within the last 2 months......

yes the little things can add up.... but you can still build a good car for under $10k. mates built a ta63 race/rally car, cost them $7500 from scratch. deals can be done :)
