  6. *mistyy eyed* those were the days :angrybird:
  7. its a pity you can't put any version of the same block family in then..... 4age! oh well the 2tg can be made to put out some power. only thing on those is the timming chain parts can be dear.
  8. waynes world! waynes world! party time! excellent! :angrybird:
  9. actually, if you say it how its spelt... you sound like an aussie! :angrybird:
  10. that japanese porsche and ferrari one..... whoa..... it doesnt look like he got out....
  11. you have to replace it.... around $250 delivered in oz i think
  12. hmm i think you should go see ya local toyota mechanic.. I'm in nelson i can supply all parts. vvt kicks in at around 4k. see here: how to test vvt
  13. well 20vs do make a lot of engine noise, but they arnt diesels!!!
  14. no thats correct, if it was the other side itd be view :)
  15. well I'm know 2tg expert, but damn that looks so much like one.....
  16. well i do have a silvertop 20v lying in my garage, and i bought an engine stand yesterday.... you work it out :) am using a gt legacy cooler, got it for $100 inc radiator, heat exchanger and pump :)
  17. well thought it was about time i posted some details of my new project.... AW11 MR2 its an 86 n/a version thats had an ae92 bigport (9.4:1) engine fitted with aw11 s/c gear. still runs the stock box which has closer ratios than the s/c box so with the extra power from the compression and the closer ratios, this thing leaves stock superchargers for dead :) am awaiting TRD shocks from japan, then there will be TRD springs. also water to air intercooler and a l/h vent for pod filter intake. the sound deadnign has been removed and with the loud exhaust, i keep imagining I'm in a group B car :)
  18. its a 2t-g or 3t-g both older than the 4age and not as good :)
  19. mmmm pink bits. that noise could be the vvt pulley. quite common for them to fail. i can find you b/t head and pistons. your looking at $500ishnz plus freight. as for an ecu, links are very very good, but if theres no supplier near you, choose something else. find something with backup you can easily acsess. no you wont need the a link to run the blacktop bits, but it will help to get the best from it
  20. :) can you say death trap! :)
  21. oops, made a typo, you want black top PISTONS. not rods, they are weaker. 20vs have shim under bucket, they 16v shim over. there are shim/bucket one piece parts available. yes stock cap is fine, if your having overheating probs check the system, ie is your rad ok?
  22. hey i saw em all! they get better as the go....
  23. haha ok the main differences are: compression 11 vs 11.5 (think thats it) combustion chamber design rods, b/t are lighter and weaker s/t has afm, b/t has map. vvt: not much difference, but a few degrees the best combo is: silvertop with b/t pistons and head etc running link. youll get plenty of grunt like that 4AGES DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT HAVE LIFTERS. the cranks are the same
  24. whats a heap of crap? vl commodores? or that post?
  25. its funny cause its true
