  1. So my pinion bolt was talked upto spec But the whole shaft has play in it. What would be the cause?

  3. Hey guys hope you can help me out here After I flipped my leaf springs back up the right way I started to get a whirling / wining noise coming from the rear. It's not a howling noise like a bad wheel bearing. It's more of a friction noise. It's hard to word it right sorry It's on deceleration under 60 but constant above 60 and the faster I go the louder it gets Being a wagon it sounds amplified and I can't stand to go on the highway. I got under the car and I could move the tail shaft a fair bit and I could move it back and forward. My uni joints are solid with no play. I have a ke35 diff if that helps QUESTION 2 My diff has moved over to the passenger side My back pass side wheel sticks out 30mm My drivers side wheel sticks out 18mm Why?
  4. I gave my plenum to a mate who's build was a lot further along then mine. So I'm plenumless atm I don't like the look of the stock ones they sit very high so if there is another one on the market just as good as the stock one I'd prefer it. I'm not running big power, just a cheeky 7-10 psi so I don't think a hell expensive plenum is necessary. But obviously don't want a homemade piece of crap either
  5. Sorry poorly constructed sentence I'm wanting an aftermarket plenum for my build and can't really find much on the market. I found the one I posted and was just after some feed back from people who had used them. What makes it not good ?

  7. Thanks mate I bought new rear sport shocks and it holds the back very well now only scrub hard in and out of a corner. I'll go for 50 profile tyres for the tears now

Hey guys Previous owner set the leaf springs to low for the wheels I'm running, they scrub hard I need to raise the back 1cm As far as I can see iv got 3 options 1 - new stiffened shocks as the ones in the car are flogged out (would this work) 2- lower profile tyre 3- new leafs or add another leaf to my existing ones What would you guys do ? Cheapest of corse Cheers for any input
  9. Man I love this thing It's making want my engine back from the machine shop so bad. What's the pod breathing on the intake side ?
  10. hahah cheers guys . on another note i tightned up the bolt on the steering box a little and put a new eccelerator cable in. Boy it made all the difference in the world. The steering is firm with out the car floating all over the road and no sticky spots in the accelerator. It was plesent to drive to say the least. I'm now considering keeping the 4k and building the 4 age for another project.

I absolutely hated the way it drove :( It was loose and floppy and totally gutless Although i am comparing it to my 500hp zed Never the less The hunt was on for a new heart for the beast. last night my girl and i were on our way to pick up my new engine. Woke up this morning and teared it all apart ready for the machine shop Monday morning. Here are some pics of the engine totally disassembled on one table.

  13. burnt out my bushings and replaced all front end bushes. i even received my bride material for a little sneaky something iv got planned
  14. So this was a fun job and the girl was happy that she could be involved with this one as she got to come to the fabric shop with me. yes you guessed right DOOR CARDS. Here are some pics

  16. A few bits i wasn't happy with so i tackled them before i forgot about them. rewired the thermos. bought a new belt and realized it was the wrong on so took it back and got the right one. New head light bulbs.
  17. Here is some shots of the polishing stages and tires. i decided to leave the spokes in a brushed alloy look for a bit of contrast

  19. Here is a few shots of the triple core and thermos going in A little bit needed to be trimmed off the bottom and i switched the thermo stat housing 180 degrees. I then realized i needed to make a new plate as the housing is slightly offset by a few mm. And custom piping was in order to make it work
  20. OK so its been a month and 8 days since i bought the car and i have been working between 10-13 hours a day on it with only 2 day off. I rewired the whole car again as a few plans changed. The underlay and carpet went down after relocating the battery behind the drivers seat. I'm not running back seats as iv decided to make a timber deck. Stock seats went in and threw some covers over them (for now anyway) All panels got finished off and put back on. While i was waiting my wheels, Boss kit, Stereo, radiator and other bits arrived. Leaving ne absolutly no time to relax i got stuck into it all. I refurbished the Work Equip 01 Wheels while i was waiting for odd bits to dry. 14x7.5 -4 all round with 185/60 rubber Here are some pics of how shes sitting today

  22. yeah mate pretty much working on it full time ATM. Should have all the interior put back together tomorrow and start prepping the doors, bonnet ect ect
