Haha! Not the first time it has happened either. Many of these new euro/jap FWD turbo hotties have massive plastic engine covers and heats shields making the turbo almost non-existent to somebody who doesn't know their stuff too well. (eg. most coppers)
Really upsetting news mate. How much is a wolf? How was she driving before she broke down. When you have her running again make sure to take a vid.
Cheers. Matt.
P.S you have really nice legs for a bloke :bash:
Great to see she's coming along nicely mate. You should get some new moulded black carpets. Make the interior look shmick once it is all back in.
Matt.
Welcome mate! Yes, being a p-plater sucks because it means i can't drive my dad's clubsport legally any more :) But, good luck with finding the car you are after, and if it's a corolla of some sort even better.
Cheers.
Matt.
yeah no updates except that we fitted wider rear tyre on the back with a slightly higher profile. She now doesn't rev as high at 100-110 clicks! Yes, i got the license yesterday (minus the sense!). Sorry but as i told leigh, I won't be able to make it on sunday as i have too much schoolwork and assessments next week. :) Need the time to get back up on top of things.
Cheers.
Matt.
Welcome Splatty. Put up the vx in the for sale section and good luck with the sale. There is a 4 runner gettin parted out at the moment by 'ROLLA'BOY's' brother. If that is of any help.
Matt.
Hello and on behalf of everyone here WELCOME.
You speak english really well and your only 15 1/2 years old! Great to see you have not only one but two corollas. I don't think there are any other Finnish people on here so you are probably the first one!
Put up some pictures of your cars when you get the chance.
Matt.
We'll i used this concetina-type flexible tubing instead of silicone piping because that is what i had. This happened to be the corect fit for the stock 7k carby. With the hose clamp nicely tightened she fit nicely. So i think your silicone piping is too large in diameter. What you shoud do is make a stencil of your carby lip size and then match it up with the correct silicone pipe.
As for the high-torque starter my dad got it so i will have to get back to you on that one.
Matt.
Saw a red/orange faded ke30 parked in front of queen's park in Moonee Ponds. It's auto and has been parked there every day for the past week. Couple of dings here and there but not too bad. I'll see if i can get pics tomorrow.
My ke30 7K
Pros
Old and classic
Gets attention
Loud
Fun
Relibility
the list goes on.....
Cons
Old and classic
Gets attention
Loud
Gets a little warm in summer, read: no air-con
But it is a rolla therefore all it's cons are outweighed by infinite pros
I think the way the kr42 townace engine mounts bolt up to the sub-frame is completely different to that of a ke30. We used stock standard ke30 3k engine mounts without any major problems.
Check out these old threads for info that might be of use : http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=8712

Not sure about ke25's but on the ke30 standard engine mounts can be used. The sump will definately have to be modified to clear the crossmember.
Also 3k, 4k and 5k heads wont bolt up because the 7k block is wider than these.
Good luck.
Matt.
