4k/5k units. Use the search button. Read the FAQ. It's a well covered topic.

Read the rules. Also, you'll notice that this forum doesn't have the typical amount of cockheads and retards that most others do. Sorry, I punched that response in quick without reading. They are hard to find and expensive to buy (400+) and getting rebuild kits etc seems to involve mixing and matching bits from multiple kits.

Click this link This is a pic of mine. You can see the two ball joints screw into the manifolds. Mine doesn't have the shaft in there at the moment. The throttle linkage, the brass one, you can see connecting down between the 2 carbs. TP

What's with all the closet kidnap-van owners?

Not in SA. You get a logbook which allows 90 days per year of driving, you need to fill it out (Date, Destination, signature) before driving and carry it in the vehicle at all times. I'm a member of the Sporting Car Club of SA, membership for under 28s is very cheap. The car you own probably won't be a concern either.

I can't stand the thought of any rolla with a piece of fibro snot hanging off its nose BUT My mate builds his 2L sport sedans using the same basic principles, nothing quite as wicked as a Widebody Datsun 1600 race car.

Or more likely they haven't told their insurer about their modifications (ie turbos).

my bets on that 3rd wire with the blue connector on it runs to the fusebox!
-
Chase the other wire mate, the wire to the bolt is a bloody earth wire (ie negative). I'm guessing, through my powers of deduction that the other wire goes to a....... Positive power source!

lol wtf? Spell properly or you'll have the mods on your back. There's a number of threads discussing cam grinds, basically you should be able to send your cam off for a grind for about 100 bucks. You're grind will change the tune you run. My dellorto setup is going for a tune up on friday. It's in a daily, twin sidedrafts. Factory downdrafts are hard to find and can be expensive to setup.

I'm with you Trev, I wouldn't piss on a silvia to put out a fire but the economics stack up well in the nissans favour.

AAMI are the underwriters for Just Car I reckon. I don't know if Shannons or JC will do 3rd fire and theft, I think I tried years ago and they didnt. I insured my Bluebird, engineered with CA18 turbo through Vigil Car Insurance, they seemed quite good, I paid about 800 a year. 21 years old. I've had Just Car and Shannons. Both were about 50 bucks different at 1200-1300 bucks on a 1978 911, unmodified, under 25 driver with 7 years clean record (bar 3 speeding fines). Shannons won't touch a dirty slammed messed up K-sev with falcon springs and a bad tune if that's what you're thinking. Just car will. I went Just Car with my 911 because Shannons were going to need convincing I was an enthusiast. As soon as I was 25, I got rid of JC. Basically, I have no doubt that getting a claim paid out by JC would be a very trying thing. The excesses are massive, you're not covered forr theft without an approved car alarm installed (need receipts) and they had no option for monthly payment, agreed value or "weekend" use only. Shannons offer heaps more options and chance to reduce rates, flexible premium options and basically I'm confident that a claim will be dealt with fairly. Just Car didn't give me that confidence. As for price, good luck. I'd include it in your budget for your 5000 buck car if I were you, it will be a big chunk of that cost......

5k spent on a 4age conversion into a ke/ae still won't handle as well or have as much grunt as a 3000-5000 dollar S13. I hate S13s but the writing is on the wall.

What Your Spending Your Krudd Bonus On
philbey replied to trav_555's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Verbatim from the ATO: How much will be paid? $900 bonus will be paid if you have a taxable income up to and including $80,000 $600 bonus will be paid if you have a taxable income exceeding $80,000 but not exceeding $90,000 $250 bonus will be paid if you have a taxable income exceeding $90,000 but not exceeding $100,000 AND (eligible if) -you have lodged or will lodge your 2007-08 income tax return before 30 June 2009 or if you have been granted a deferred date by the Tax Office before Wednesday 18 February 2009 and you lodge your return by the deferred date Now this will piss all you moralists off - I got a shock (albeit a pleasant one) when I just read the details to discover I am eligible for a payout as it's based on FY08 income. But the tax I pay this FY09 will be close to my gross from last year? I earn decent money, but I don't spend much of it on the commercial market: I buy shit for my cars and I'll probably use this bonus to pickup bits for my bike or future rod project, but 90% of the money I spend is on the "black" market stuff; ie shit that doesn't stimulate the economy like Ebay, swapmeets, second hand items that have no influence on GDP, Employment or even going bax into the federal coffers. (Oh, there is the odd item from Motor Traders norwood) If it doesn't go there, It'll probably go into my bank to earn me some more money, or I might buy some more shares. So basically - I currently earn good money, have no dependents, I rarely buy retail and I'll most likely just stash it in a manner that makes me richer in the long term without bolstering the economy. I am a case example of government handouts getting thrown about inappropriatel -
Gloss black. Any car looks good in a good coat of gloss black.

The S13 is the better idea. You could buy 1000 dollar AE71 and spend 4000 on it and you still wont have the power or the handling of the S13.
-
True felix, but I figured running quad carbs he wasn't really focusing on those two aspects, haha!
-
Just scored a tank for it on Ebay, probaby paid too much but these have a nice profile. I might section the tank by an inch or two if its a bit fat on the bike. I'm a bit of a fan of the twin fillers, but a single offset filler isn't bad either..... Probably paid a bit much, but I'll see what it's like when I get it before I get buyer remorse.

That's a good point about the piston skirt on the 3k, I will add that to the FAQ - Should be mentioned in the "Build a tough K series" article but that's locked for editing. EDIT - Added it to the Blocks article with the info on bore sizes.

Hmmm Lots Of Choice On Tv At The Mo

And the reality is that the channel that doesn't show it will be on the bottom of the ratings list. -
Hmmm Lots Of Choice On Tv At The Mo

At least it's a bit more relevant for the broader australian population. Unlike the Pope's funeral which also covered 5 channels. -
What's the "please delete" all about? ???

Wow that's good. Sounds like they're quite a bit shorter overall than a set of twin dells/webers! Definitely interested to see how you go with this setup! I would say you wont have vacuum ports. I'd just piss off the vac advance anyway and run mechanical advance only. You should be running a better cam to take advantage of your carbs, so if I were you I'd get the dizzy recurved to suit the new cam and no vac advance.

Greenmac, that was API as well. I will check my invoice if you want, PM me if you are interested so as not to get off topic. kiahn, FYI I think someone was selling molded clear covers for GE's. What sort of CNC do you have and would you be intersted in making bits for Rollaclub members?
