  1. I'm actually a manager for a major IT company.. I'm not one of the nerds. :o I had promised pics today, but I've only just gotten the wagon back. Stripped of 90% of the interior. For now I'm going to be running standardish suspension. Leaves flipped, and lowered (not cut) springs in the front. I'll address each chokepoint as we go along. Bought myself an engine crane, so the 4K will be coming out the next few nights.
  2. Five fractures in my right hand, one in my left. I've gotten very good at one handed typing. (I work in IT)
  3. My VR has been converted to an 8, so I have a basically brand new V6 radiator. I'll try using it with the 4G54. See how things go.
  4. Been out of this for a while. Thought I better update. Got the donor engine and box sorted. Rebuilding it currently. I've been spending more money on my Commodore recently, so the rolla has taken a seat on the sideline. That and I stacked my motorbike and broke both my hands/wrists and knee. I'll have pics soon. And Jarrad, we should catch up for sure. I heard you caught up with Dave? Black Supra/Tan KE70 sedan? Regarding the leaf suspension, I've been looking at options for that. A mate insists he can convert it to Commodore rear springs, whilst keeping the rolla diff. I doubt it, but it will be interesting to see.
  5. The clock in my KE70 works fine.. most accurate clock I have actually.
  6. For unregistered track use, I don't believe it would be necessary. At this stage, I'm only interested in doing the occasional Wednesday night drift at Calder, and it won't be an issue there. If the two gemini's with supercharged V6's, and welded diffs were allowed in, I figure something as tame as this won't be a problem. @ ROL-110: Could I get MSN details for him?
  7. Damn. Drift it is then. Meh, I just want to do it to see if I can, and not have to worry about engineering.
  8. It's not way too small. I do have a T3/4 hybrid here as well, but it'll be slightly too big for it. Boost delivery would be crappy on anything below a 3 litre. I can get my hands on a potato pretty cheap, so I might look into that. As for the kind of track work, at this stage I'm not too sure, but probably circuit, and the occasional Wednesday night "Tokyo Drift" wannabe session.
  9. Well, looks like I'm in a position where I can let another car fall on the wayside. The danger wagon is hitting the track. :jamie: My engine of choice? Most likely a 4G54. 2.6 Astron, from a Mitsubishi Sigma that I'm getting off a mate. 5 speed box to go with it. I've seen 300rwkw plus being pushed out of these motors, so I figure I can build a reliable 200rwkw engine. Planning to run a GT20 with around 0.70A/R. I'll keep this thread open to give everyone a run down as I go through it all.
  10. I say go the V6, but I'm bias. And who says you can't get a V6 to rev? haha. Maybe not 9k plus, but you can get up there
  11. By my calculations your chassis has only done 483,000km's.. You can't just steal high km engines, put them in, and then claim your car has done that many k's! :P The danger wagon has just clocked over 320,000.
  12. Unlimited people? The wagon has no back seats at the moment, I reckon I could get 15+ people in the car.
  13. +10 points for a triple post. Tonight I got a little crazy, and decided to do some weight reduction in preperation for the drifts tomorrow (Hilarity event, not trying to look good). Rear seat, boot carpet and underlay, rear window washer bottle, and spare = 58.8kg. Or the equivalent of adding 8.9rwhp. Going to take it for a drive now, see if that makes any difference. Edit: Ok, took it for a drive, put all 4 tyres to 38 psi. Definitely feels a bit smoother and quicker in acceleration, as well as consistently chirping second now. Bit slippier in corners, but still nothing to write home about. Definitely worth the 20 minutes work though.
  14. Ok, picked up the new gearbox. No clutch, but it does have the throw out bearing in it, which doesn't have too much play. Should I worry about putting a whole new clutch in?
  15. My local Sims sell whole cars. I've had mates that have bought a few. Last one was a worked VN V6 5 speed. We drifted it for a while before marshal's said that it was too rusty. Thing was mental. Not bad for $800.
  16. If it's all done, you're not far off your 2 year prediction.. nice one.
  17. I just got an email from my mother, saying that some guy was buzzing around my car at home. When my sister confronted him with my dobermanns in tow, he asked if I wanted to sell it. My car is 2 hours hard and fast ride on my motorbike away, and I'm really freaked out that it's going to go missing before I get home at 8. Attention is BAD. VERY BAD. EDIT: This is my Commodore btw, which motor alone is worth 12k. :lolcry:
  18. Will do tonight, I have to resize some first. :lolcry: In other news, I just picked up a new K50 and clutch for $50. Woot.
  19. I'm probably sorely mistaken, but aren't GT17's ball bearing? Or am I getting my terminology mixed?
  20. I've always loved my Toyotas, I just got carried away with a Holden. My dream cars a Supra, believe it or not. The Commodore is a VR, 4.2 litre stroker with twin T3/4 turbos. Backed by a T5 manual (which is barely holding on). Rebuilt the whole car ground up, and its still barely finished (motor is back out for further strengthening). Was running 14psi, but after the strengthen, will be running 25psi daily, netting hopefully 600-650rwhp.
  21. I'd love to say it's cosmetic.. But it's not :lolcry: And it may be a commonwhore, but at least if you throw money at it, it will put out. :lolcry:
  22. I'll be there. Whether spectating or trying to kill my stock KE70 is yet to be determined.
  23. The motor is on 320,000km, but still seems strong, no smoke, not too noisy (except the damn bearing). Even chirps second. Just feels completely gutless after driving my other car: (Not really on LPG) But, knowing how crazy I am with cars, it will probably end up with a 4AGZE-U with a turbo. Just tossing up whether I should bother to cut the rust out of it, and respray the car, as it's pretty straight and clean already.
  24. Wow, it's like mine, but 200% more pimp.
