  1. Edit: Due the original post making absolutely no sense anymore.....
  2. now I really AM starting to feel old... :)
  3. The owner happened to be walking up to the car at the time....
  4. I already have them. They're down stairs... :)
  5. According to my profile, I believe I'm 95. Edit: Whoops, I'm 94. Can't count. Must be senility.
  6. And if they'd put the same woman in a Tarago (ex Car of the Year), she'd have done the same thing. It's crap like that that really annoys me. I watched as a woman hit a very parked and very stationary car yesterday whilst she was trying to reverse into a park at the Hypermarket. The ONLY thing it could be put down to was lack of talent. She was driving a Honda Prelude. I now demand a special license to drive Honda's, so that innocent Celica's can be parked in carparks without fear.
  7. Well, it looks like Datgirl and I are off for driving test's if it was up to you guys!! :) Modern 4wd's are very easy to drive. The brakes on the Paj, through necessity, are huge, and stops probably as well as the wifes AE101. It has ABS brakes & airbags, as do all new 4wd's these days. In a school zone where you are meant to be doing 40kph, braking distance differences would be negligable. Education is what is required, across the board.
  8. Tell me, should there be a special license to drive turbo'd cars because they have so much power? Should there be a special license for people with more than two sub woofers because they're so distracting? Are we going to make some one who own's a Subaru forester take this 4wd license test? Or a Suzuki Vitara? What about 2wd f100's? Why should someone who owns a 2wd Triton not have to take the test, but someone who has a 4wd one does?
  9. Wow. Got bumpstops and uber tiny wheels with dish?
  10. Jamie, I have about 30000 cams around here if you ever need another. 29th..... rings a bell......
  11. More driver education is required full stop. Some of the disgraces that I have seen recently do not bear mentioning, however, I will say that the general populace need to get THEIR act together before picking on 4WD owners. And I'm not just saying that because I own one. :) You can drive up to a 4.5 tonne truck before you require a truck license. The attitudes on other forums of " I'm 20 and can drift my car in the wet, thereby I'm a better driver than 99% of the country" fills me with vile hatred and makes me want to send Guido and the boys around post haste for some attitude re-adjustment. Bugger me, I'm 32, been driving for 15 years, and still learn something new all the time. Driver education across the board is the key. Don't just target one group. I have a ARB bullbar on my car due to the country miles I do, and the need to stop flying BBQ burners from attacking my car. I agree they shouldn't come standard, then we'd see a lot less Patrols with them. And remember, if you're out on the roads, KEEP LEFT! :)
  12. Aaahhhh, you see he originally posted this at 1800hrs on Sunday, and wanted to do it immediately...... *shrug* :)
  13. Because the person who beat your bid has a long history of withdrawing bids......
  14. What do I do? As little as humanly possible! :) Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Licensed on Boeing 737-300 to -900 Airframes and CFM56-3 and -7 Engines. Carrying out, supervising and certifying maintenance for a company with large red aircraft. Part time driver, Holden Stormriders. Crappy job, but someone has to do it. :) I also still dabble a bit with Heavy Vehicle telemetry and diagnostic systems.
  15. I guess the maintenance crews here in Melb don't get the same paypacket as you then. Those blokes go on strike at least 3-4 times a year over pay and working conditions. Most people i know would kill to have job like that (including myself). Very touchy subject, and I'm advising you not to go there unless you are EXCEEDINGLY well informed. The money is a side issue, however conditions have been continually degraded over recent years. At the end of the day, YOUR life is in our hands as much as in the pilots. Aviation is in such a state at the moment, that if you were considering a job in it, I'd tell you to become a plumber.
  16. That would therefore make you a "conehead"! :) Sadly, yes, I do play with planes. I'm just getting back in the game again after a ten month break, working for Virgin Tech based out of MEL, but still living in Brissie. Basically, I don't know anywhere else I can make that sort of money.
  17. When I used to work double time, it ended up being single time tax free.
  18. It shouldn't work like that. It's a cumulative system. For each extra dollar you earn, you should see at least 51.5c per extra dollar earned. It should be more. If you earn an extra $200 a week, you should see at least $100 of that. *cough* :) Sorry.
  19. I will defer to Chris on this one, but I still thought that if push came to shove on a one off, you could (and indeed I have) use petrol. I know continual washing in petrol roots them, but for a one off it shouldn't be a problem. Chris?
  20. You're only getting $26 per hour for night shift? Bugger me, I don't get out of bed for that on a day shift! Something is not right with your tax. I'd look into it. I know how the system works, and you should be getting more than that.
  21. See above.
  22. Edit due incorrect info
  23. Just washed the damn thing, and now it starts raining....... Edit: THUNDER?? Where did the &%$king THUNDER come from??????
  24. A reminder of what it was.....
