  1. Is that Peter Robinson the one in Melbourne that specialises in Corolla's? If so I disagree with him. It wouldn't be the first time, either. If you want to go fast up a hill climb, you want 4.5's. 4.8's would be even better.Yes the gears will run out quicker, but you'll have better acceleration, and you'll be in third still accelerating, when others are in second and maxed out. The legendary Murray Coote (he of proflex fame and rally god status) stated that if you can pull another gear for even two seconds, you'll be going faster. With the 4.5's you will change to third earlier, and therefore gain the advantage. Meh, so you have to change down again, no biggy. Make me a realistic offer for the carbs (and that goes for anyon else, too). 1 1-2 SU's, CP4 needles, linkages, filters, set-up, good to go. I am however going away in 5 hours for about three weeks, so have a think about it. You could probably make me an offer for the Dwarf, too. :P
  2. Wrong way. You need 4.5's to hold third longer. 4.1's it'll take you longer to get there, and the car won't have as much pick up. Trust me. I accidently put a 4.1 in the car instead of 4.4's, and it was a slug. Carb's? You need to buy my twin su's. They're already set up for a hot 3K. P.S: Linky no worky for me.
  3. Wet hanger floors, tyres with no tread.... I got one of those bogged out the back of the MEL hanger once, we took it 4 wheel driving!
  4. Neither do I......
  5. He and the shovel deserve each other....
  6. Do YOU want to drive a big KW Front driver?? I sure as hell don't. There's only so much you can do to a mass production car and still make it affordable.
  7. My main gripe with them is that asthetically they're about as pleasing as a mid 70's concrete office block. You just have to look at a Mazda 6 to realize how far behind Toyota are in interior design...... (and exterior)...
  8. Drill a hole in something metal, and attach it to that. If the wire isn't long enough, make it longer....That's all I did.
  9. What you have is far from the ideal set-up. Either of the above suggestions would be the go. Good luck!
  10. *shrug* They're all as ugly as a hat full of.......
  11. I agree, Tom. I've crapped more exciting things than the current model Camry. Hopefully it will be a well thought out piece of motorcar, and not something slapped together that steers like a pig with throttle. I think I'd prefer to see a genuinely hot corolla though.....
  12. Camshaft Engineering did mine. They're in the Yellow Pages.....
  13. I don't care. I'd still have one. Although I'd have to hide the Ford badge...
  14. I started to get worried there for a second...
  15. Jamie, 4K head on a standard 3K would lower compression to about 7ish:1?
  16. That very seriously does it for me.
  17. Exactly.
  18. Wrong wheel drive!
  19. There's a heap of information in here about 3K's. Use search, or Google.com, and you'll turn up even more. For a start..... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=2129 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1982 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1795 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=2333 I know there's more about....
  20. What exactly are you endeavouring to achieve?
  21. Where are you located? I have a contact in Brisbane who deals solely in KE10's. I know Kelly's have a couple, too.
  22. different dyno, this one is southside.
  23. You will need to get your blue plate from an engineer, roadworthy places very often do not have the ability to do these. Your NSW engineers unfortunately don't mean much in Qld, but it can't hurt to take it along, as the Qld engineer has to be happy with the conversion. I assume that engine and box ( and possibly brakes?) will need to be done. (LA1, LB1, LD1). I think you'll find that a friendly roadworthy may be hard to get as your car will have to go to Queensland Transport, and I know they're on the war path atm. Good Luck!
  24. Relistically, dyno figures should only be a comparitive tool. No two dynos give the same reading. I've had one dyno read 85hp and another 60hp with the identical setup. If you want a big hp figure I can send you to one which will read about 30% over.....
  25. I only use Frawley's in Anzac Ave in Redcliffe. 3284 3224 and BOB is the man you will talk to.
