  9. Doug, I know someone ith a heap of bits to make it a 2T-G if you want to as well. I'm just about to pick up a couple of cams of this bloke, and I kow he has a heap of other stuff as well. R
  10. It's the internet. It must be true.
  11. .... I also have it on good authority, that when/if the springs jam internally, that having a second redundant throttle return spring doesn't do much. Blueys carbs had both springs broken, and the first thing the carbie man said was "Had your throttles jammed open?" When I told him no, and I run a second return spring, he told me it didn't matter, it'll jam anyway if I have a second spring or not. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. *shrug* I'm not pulling my Webers off because they may jam.....
  12. RA60 struts= big brakes. Work well with 4 spots...
  13. g0t bumpst0ps?
  14. As we all know, you match the springs to the cam. I have some sort of hot Holden 202 blue motor springs in mine, and they work well, although we change them every eighteen month because they soften up a bit. If double valves springs work with your cam, all well and good. You probably need them for the amount of lift you have, as you need the compressability, as a single coil wouldn't have the strength and compressability you require. I don't know where mine valve bounces, the Tacho stops at eight.
  15. No offence taken, but I disagree, if it goes pear shaped, and you're commited, (and this guy wasn't a goose by any stretch of the imagination) you're relying on something to be there and it's not, it turns very ugly. I did it in the Stanza. No clutch, no second gear, no drive, large embankment. Same deal. If there'd been a big drop, I'd have been over it, and I consider myself reasonably experienced. Maybe I should have written commited in capitols, because when you are absolutley chock-a-block up it, by the time you've realised what's happening, it's all over. Cause or catalyst, it's best descibed as "a racing accident". It's a risk you take and accept.

I didn't think TE27 came out with a 2t in it. 2T-G yes. TE27's were, as far as I know, all Levin's, and had big arsed flares. The Seppo's only got the 20 series with t-series motors in them, thus leading me to believe that it's a TE-25. As I can't get onto the website at the moment, I could always be wrong... :D *edit* He does call it a Te27 at the top of the page, but I'm very doubtful.
  17. call me.

  23. Got a spare $1000? That will get you a hilux diff fitted. If you're lucky. Gearbox will last as long as you want it to.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you already have a 4K block?
  25. The problem is, in competition, you have your foot flat, until you won't lift until you brake, normally, when you button off, car starts decelerating, with throttles stuck wide open, you keep going! This is enough to launch you off a corner, particularly as you have to turn off the motor to keep it from exploding, power is a wonderful thing for getting through a corner. If you have it happen on a gear change on a straight bit, all well and good, but coming up to a corner, VERY unattractive.
