  1. My sister had RT132 struts in her KE20. Apart from that I really can't tell you how easily they'll fit, as I don't really talk to her. I have TA22 Celica struts in the TE55, and custom made Pedders coilovers in the KE25. If you go Rt132 struts and hubs, it will change the stud pattern from what I assume you have at the moment. Measuring might be the best way to go with that question.
  2. It's mainly a problem with DCOE Webers. I just had the 40's on Bluey done, and both internal springs were buggered. It's not a thing that external springs are going to fix either, as it jams internally. Common problem apparently.
  3. It all depends on what you want from your engine. I ran the K-B carbs for years and they gave me good reliable service, on a good reliable grunty little engine. Flirty, the best thing to come up with would be a budget. From there you can decide what path you want to take. 5K is a good option, but if you want to do the 4K (nothing wrong with that), there's no secrets, and a good rebuild can be done for not that much (comparitively). Carbies are up to you, but if you have the twins, why not use them. If you don't like them, get a DGAV off a Cortina. Food for thought.

It's a TE25. If it was a TE27, I would personally have to go over there and hurt him. R
  5. Painting over the original colour is fine. We did that with Bluey. As stated above, preparation is the key. Don't do a whole car out of a can, unless you're some kind of guru. It will, odds on, look crap.
  6. Ummm, I'd back my "turd" against most things in most motorsport arena's. You can have a nice little grunty K motor for not a great deal of outlay. I don't remember the title of this post being about SR20's? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  7. Open the bores up, Check the inlet manifold port sizes, if it's a small port, use a small port head, if it's not, find a big port. Skim the head a reasonable amount, .050" to .075",clean up the ports, get a nice little cam with about .400" lift, stick it together and it should be a good little thing. No real tricks. :D
  8. Truth must be told, most of the bigport heads came off K motors (1080cc or so), I understand so, anyway. Not all 3K heads are big port. Look for the welsch plug, and they're visibly bigger ports. If you want serious grunt, start with a small port and get out the dremel if you know what you're doing. Cheers R
  9. RT-104 Corona. These things were unstoppable. Couldn't kill'em with a stick....
  10. We're unusual people! We did it that way around mainly due to the timeframe that we've had. The opportunity for the booth was too good, therefore, outside got done first....
  11. If you want a drive in drive out price, use the yellow pages, and let your fingers do the walking. For brakes, talk to an engineer, particularly if you're in Qld as you will need LA3 compliance for the supercharger anyway, and if it was originally a KE70, possibly LA1 as well. A quick call to an engineer will answer most of your questions. We could give you advise, but it might not be correct. Labour is you're biggst killer. Searching not just here, but google as well, is a great idea, too. No, I can't/won't recommend anyone to do it. Cheers R
  12. Getting there......
  13. working out seat mounting positions. Nav will be back and as far down as possible.... Will spray interior this week, after new seat mounts are made.....
  14. The guard came up well, see earlier photos of what it did look like..... Apologies for the tail on the Staffy!
  15. Must.... reassemble!!! (Number 5 alive!)
  16. At least two appearances by them, too!
  17. That is firmly your decision. Do the research, goolge about and make an informed choice. We can advise, you have to decide.
  18. Felix will either confirm or deny this, but this is my understanding of it. Ke10 auto's have larger trans tunnels than manuals. As the Ke10 never came out with a t-series box, I don't believe it will slot into the hole without modification to the tunnel. Engine shouldn't be a problem, just standard stuff like new engine mounts, exhaust etc. KE20's and later all had larger trans tunnels as they were designed to have t-boxes in them. They also have better suspension set-ups. Hope this helps....
  19. Classic Adelaide is on Telly today (30/1) at 1600hrs, should be good, look for Mel and Paul spinning on the Prologue.... :D
  20. Unless you're doing serious round-and-round circuit work, this is not a requirement. Neither of my cars have the kill switch externally accessable....

    Help

EErrrrmmmmm, correct me if I'm wrong, as i had HELL trouble deciphering your post. Are you eventually looking at putting the 3t-gte in an AE86? Or the 4ag stuff into an earlier Corolla?
  22. What are you putting it into? Can you hear the motor running? Why does he want to sell it? Why is he selling so cheap? Does he have receipts? What's it's history? History says that second hand motors are generally not what they're cranked up to be. Buyer beware.
  23. Matt black tends to send a message to Police: "Please pull me over..."
  24. Unfortunately gloss black will show every impefection in the entire car. It's probably the hardest colour to paint the car and have it look any good. Paint for Bluey was $200 for four litres. After engine bay an two exterior coats, we have about 1 and a half litres left. We put a number of evening and a weekend of hard graft into Bluey to prepare it, and it came out fine for what we wanted. It looks great at 20 feet, closer than that and you start seeing imprefections. For a first timer, I will almost guarantee that it won't come out as good as you will have wanted, I know my Mark one paint job didn't. However, the best way to learn is to do it yourself. You have to weigh up what you want out of it. As a learning experience, it's second to none, you'll never get better. However, you may not get the result you want. Hope this helps. R

    Help

Yes they are a good motor. Yes it'll easily get you in trouble. Yes it'll pull a good skid. Yes it'll have enough grunt to keep you satisfied if the rest of the drivetrain will hold up. No it's probably not as good as an SR or CA engine, but it's a different generation engine. It all depends on what YOU want. Dirve it. If you don't like it, don't but it. Irokin: Corolla's with those motors are hard to come by. It's a lot cheaper to buy a built car like this than it is to build one.
