  1. Low pressure gun, and we had partially un-masked the car by then. How hard is it to choose the colour red? There were thousands of the damn things. Unfortunately we couldn't match Dwarf red, too. :P
  2. General rule of thumb, if you can drive it there, it should pass. Within reason.
  3. GTX isn't what I'd be using. Penrite (what I used to use) and Pennzoil (what I now use) would be my personal picks. I think Jamies suggesting the Pennzoil 50w, correct?
  4. Give it to me and I'll abuse it for you......
  5. No! No! Thats just primer..... :)
  6. It should be a good day. I know Datgirl has lined up some very good experienced people to assist (at least one Aust Champion) and give advise if it's wanted.
  7. Tom, sadly in this day and age, if you want the job done properly, you must pay the dollars. Cut price job can mean cut price work. You get what ... etc...
  8. It's an unfortunate thing that motorsport doesn't seem to be "voter friendly". Diamond Joe Quimby, come on down.......
  9. Mmmmm 26mm of meaty thickness.....
  10. New brake rotors.....
  11. Hmmm.. photo's don't really do it justice....
  12. Is that why your car sits lop-sided? :) Sprayed the engine bay today. Mexican Red. Somewhat brighter than I expected.....
  13. Must admit, I was always partial to the really thick Penrite stuff, used to be HPR50, as Irokin said, I'd say its HPR40 now. It's not a permanent fix, it merely prolongs the inevitable.
  14. Am going to attempt to drag my sorry arse out there to assist......
  15. That was probably Peter and his V8.... :)
  16. I used to work with a guy that looked like him.....
  17. Remember this?? :P http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1095
  18. You will soon learn that young Fook does not possess a nasty bone in him..... :P
  19. For what it's worth, compression is a useful tool in unsettling the car on dirt, and lining it up for a corner. Very handy with a locked diff, as turn-in can often be at a premium. Requires a bit of practice to get right though...... :P
  20. .... and the engine bay is almost ready. We seam welded the LH tower, and the rear of the RH tower. The front has already been done in a previous indiscretion. And just for Jamie: Fred, Bill, Barney. Ralph.......
  21. .....All the body deadener is now out, now requires cleaning and a bit of floor panel beating.....
  22. Todays effort was the rear guard, which is coming up fairly well. Wayne fabricated a new edge, and it's looking fairly good.... alot better than it did yesterday anyway.....
  23. Pat, take it from someone who's been around a bit. You don't need a turbo. Not if you're 16 and it's your first car. God this sounds condescending, but in all honesty, you'd be a hell of a lot better off if you built a neat solid 4K. You wouldn't have issue of lunching pistons, using second hand parts (definitely NOT recommended), and you would have a good solid car to drive that wouldn't give you any grief. You don't need that sort of hassle in your daily driver. I apologise if it's not your first car, and I'm over generalising, but I stand by the statement....
  24. The trick is to make them look good with the minimum of effort.
  25. Unfortunately Wanye isn't a Bob. He only does very select work for a very select few people. Datgirl and myself are part of the privileged few... :P
