  1. Tony Scott's KE70 used to run 15:1 and ran on some evil Jungle Juice. Now decompressed to 11:1 to run Premium. Yes that car used to be quicker!
  2. Northside Brisbane, feel free to come and rape my collection of heads.....
  3. Long story short. Did three stages, went VERY fast. Stage four, broke most pinion teeth off diff. Kicked car. Got car out of forest on trailer, went to Gallangowan. Car now used as Pick-a-Part. Partied til 3 in the morning. Drove home, killed Pajero tyre. Now Sleeping! P.S: How many Rollaclub members does it take to put up a tent? :insane:
  4. Look funny doing an eight wheel drift... :insane:
  5. (Datgirl here on Redwarf's computer again) Awww thanks guys, I didn't realise this thread was happening!! It was SUPER HEAPS fun, not scary in the slightest, damn my man is FAST!! We were so excited about getting better and better - compared our $15K Escort to the $80K+ cars we were starting to beat. We can't wait for next year, we're definitely going back. Adelaide itself is beautiful and the rally takes you around the gorgeous countryside. Rallying is the best way to see Australia!!! Thanks again guys.
  6. Okay, but what is value for money? Do you desparately want to stay Camry? Would it be more cost efficient to build a Celica? Or a Corolla? The problem is your going into mainly uncharted territory, where most items would require custom fabrication (Redwarf Motorsport, PM me for my mobile number! :insane:), and custom stuff comes at a price and doesn't always work. Ask Fook. You need to set a budget, and research your rectum off, and there wont be a lot of info out there. YOU need to do the hard yards, check and double check what people tell you. People will bullshit you to get the work, and if you don't have firm pricing, they will screw you. It's not all gloom, if you do the hard yards, supervise the job properly, look after the budget, it's one of the most rewarding things you can do.... P.S: Punctuation is your friend......
  7. I know a 3sf-e with a turbo bolted to the side of it in a Camry. Now normally I crap more exciting things than a Camry, but this thing has balls. The BIG downside to the conversion is the drive train is nowhere near strong enough. Drive shafts, diffs, gearboxs, it's been through them all, some more than once. Cheap horsepower is fine, but in the long run, everything else in the drive line has to be stronger than the engine. I don't believe TRD make a lot of Camry bits. And remember, contrary to what people say, no conversion is ever truly easy.......
  8. Dwarf is only going into semi-retirement, probably to become more bitumen orientated. No more rallys though, unless I break Blue...... :insane:
  9. With the rally coming up, I realistically can't look at it until probably Monday. Is that still okay with you? R
  10. Final round of the QRC this weekend, with the old team of the Dwarf and Datgirl taking Red out for it's (hopefully) final rally. We're comfortably sitting at car 20 out of 50, a good seeding. New gearbox in, spanner check completed, only a couple more items to go on the list. The rally starts at Sumner Park, transports to Beerburrum, does two stages to Woodford Service, 18km stage and then Jimna sevice 1, 20.65 km to Jimna service 2, then two stages of 37.17kms, to Gallangowan regroup and service, then a loop of 28.62 kms, service and repeat loop. 151.24 kms of competitive, 257.35 km of transport of a total of just over 400kms for the day. ( in the morning til 22:30 at night. This is going to be a long day!!
  11. You can bring it around and I'll have a quick look for you if you like. I'm in Aspley, and Nick has my number. Cheers R
  12. It depends on how far you want to lower it. On one of my spring packs, we flipped the main spring (yes it has inverted eyes), I think usually its the second biggest one, but experiment and see what happens, alternatively for $200 or so, you can get it done by the pros..... Experiment!! Felix or Peter would have a better idea, it's a long long time since I've done it...
  13. In standard form you paint them blue to prevent scaring the fish. They need a bit of work to make them go, but when they do, they have torque that would pull a 4AG in half.....
  14. Fook, I used my half ton to re-topsoil thefront and back yards....! :insane:
  15. That's okay, she's still in Adelaide! :insane:
  16. depends on what you want to do. A 2NS would not allow you to, say, do the Autocross that is on tomorrow at willowbank, Wyldephyre is right, it would discount you from the Qld Challenge as well. If you just wanted to do motorkhanas, a 2NS would be fine, but I'd personally go for the 2S.
  17. Trent, look here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=571
  18. The oil pressure switch broke off the block, therefore puting the oil from inside to outside, and engine doesn't like no oil. :insane: They were doing super well, including ninth outright on one stage. Who says you need a Porsche to do well. Major, major bummer. No rest for the wicked though, because Datgirl comes back and navs for me at Gallangowan next week. A slight change in pace me thinks.....
  19. She's naving in a 180hp MarkII Ford Escort. The cost of the suspension alone would buy your Camry 4 times over. Paul's a serious pedaller, if she says it can't go any harder, the next step is to bolt wings to it..... I think they're about 19th overall, big effort when you look at the competition....... http://www.classicadelaide.com.au/ca/ Car 607 :insane:
  20. Datgirl update: At the end of day two, Paul and Datgirl are coming 13th in the Late Classic Competetion at Classic Adelaide. At last report the car "Physically can't go any faster". Giddee Up!!
  21. The main problem with HiLux diffs is they are huge. It'd be like swatting a fly with an axe. To be honest, I don't think they're that much cheaper, not when you have to cut them down to suit....
  22. 2.25 works well on my 3K.... :insane:
  23. Bugger me Ben, don't hold back so much next time!

and outragously expensive. The last outing cost me two tyres, a gearbox, a brakeline, and the need to repair my $700 extractors as one of the pipes had snapped. It's not a cheap exercise. The next round has already cost me $750 and I haven't left home yet.
