  1. Haha. Thats my mate Dan's KE70. Just got the 4AGE treatment 2 weeks ago so a few bugs to iron out. The whole car wouldnt owe him more than $2500. The only reason he wasnt out there was because the front shocks are flogged and its a scary thing to drive. The wing is actually off an E30 shape BMW 325i.
  2. Same shit, first gear really. As long as you don't go knocking every pole over with one handed open door slides you'll be ok. Smoke and noise is good.
  3. Yeah there was a short run of 4A-FTE sportivo corollas.
  4. Yeah I thought everyone would have seen that one by now. I don't know what the problem is, my car is dumped and I don't have any clearance problems.
  5. Actually its a rather quick circuit car.
  6. Insert default CBY levin photo
  7. My car passes. So its not exactly strict.
  8. Q: How do Kiwi's practice safe sex? A: They spraypaint a red X on the sheep that kick.
  9. If its the one I'm thinking of it was on one the HPI vids and was powered by a GZE. I'll get some pics of my mates KE70 we just dropped a 4AG into. It f@$king cool.
  10. Around 60kw ATW should be enough to be fun. Thats what i'm estimating my 4ag is making and its tons of fun.
  11. My engine already came with sexy stainless 4-1 extractors. Sure stock ones might be good for 200hp but a set of nice bling tubular extractors look a lot sexier than stocko cast jobs.
  12. It's your rear wheels. They're crying because they're the one which should be driven and not the front wheels. Theres a fairly easy fix for it around. It's called Corolla and can be found fairly easily and cheap too.
  13. I've downshifted from the high end of 4th into 3rd in my mates CA silvia while braking hard for a corner. The tacho went well into the 8000 range. Lucky my mate the owner was drunk at the time. He thought it was cool.
  14. Dirty tractor engines I tells ya. Never underestimate the mighty CA.
  15. MMM cenny. I've had the pleasure of driving one of these around for a mate (lost license) for the last couple of weeks. Its an 86 model but its f@$king loaded with so much cool shit. I want a V12 model.
  16. if you've got a mechanical oil pressure gauge then chances are you're going to get done for it if your car gets anything more than a casual lookover by the feds. it's pretty hard to hide an oil line going into the cabin I was refering to boost guages but yeah Mr Plod will definitly break out the anal lube if he sees oil lines going through the firewall.
  17. Just mount it into the dash so A. It looks nice and B. Keeps Mr Plod happy. In cabin boost controllers seem to be a big nono but guages seem to be fine if they're mounted in the right position.
  18. I agree with fook about the surge tank. Definitly get one if you can. I ran my car for a short period with a surge tank and whenever the level started to get close to 1/4 it would start to surge taking corners. Not driving hard or anything but it gets quite annoying.
  19. Happy new year!!! yeah I;m f@$king maggot!! Just got home and imfeeling fine.
  20. Sounds good. Get the basics down first. You'll know when your ready to upgrade.
  21. You'll need the steering arms as well.
  22. I saw a similar setup actually being used on an MX5 at a recent track day. It re-routed the intake piping up through the firewall into the vents below the windscreen to take advatage of the high pressure area there. Didn't find out if it made any noticable gains but it probably helps a little bit.
  23. Yeah my fronts are RA65 celica. Dunno what they're worth, I pulled them off skidmans parts car for nothing. Anyone with an angle grinder and a welder can make coilovers. I can't remember what my coilover sleeves were worth. My fulcrum ones were around $100 but I didnt end up using them. That also didnt include the top hats for the top of the spring. I just took my struts, and shocks to Paul at Rallytorque and let him weave his magic on them. They cost me just over $300 each but that included the coilover sleeves, top hats, 400lbs springs, strut case shortening and a little spacer i needed so I caould use the standard strut top. Plus they look like a work of art. I've never seen such neat welding in my life. Worth every cent if you ask me. Sigma control arms rock. $30 for big camber instead of $300 for cusco camber tops. Works well with RA6x struts as you end up with positive camber if you use standard control arms, although the camber gets a bit excessive (4-5 degrees) if you use standard struts. Josh's cat piss yellow AE86 is a good example of sigma arms with standard struts. I have less pronounced 3 degrees on mine.
  24. I wouldn't exactly say I'm experienced on the subject but I can make a few recomendations. I think coilovers would be a wise investment. The inital cost is higher but adjustability is what you want. What if you find 400lbs is too stiff or too soft! Try and get as much adjustability into your setup as possible and f@$k with it until you find what works for you. I know of people with 10k springs in their AE86 which may seem astronomical but it seems to work for them. I currently have 7k in the fron of mine and I was looking at dropping it down to 6 or 6.5. More important is the choice of shock. This is where money should be spent. don't go and blow 800 bucks on HTS if its out of your budget but money spent here can make or break a suspension setup. Also remember, you can spend all the money in the world on suspension but it doesent mean shit if you havent got the skills behind the wheel. I've seen too many people whove dumped shitloads of cash into their car but couldnt drive a well lubed stick up a bulls arse to save their own life.
  25. Yeah I saw that corsa. I was carrying around a TRD wing for an AE86 for a while.
