  1. Bah. Silly K motor nonsense. Chicks dig guys with big umm displacement.... and who can resist twins? Cams that is. :D Also, is there a difference between Auto and manual trans tunnels?
  2. Really? Pics must hide all. It's far from cool.
  3. Haha so it finally happened. I've become one of the KE70 brigade. This is my $250 Ebay special. Its a Cat piss yellow 84 update front. Povo pack S model. It comes standard with features like: Hubcaps on one side. Mis matched paint and battle scars. Obviously a hardc0re drifter. Performance rubber strips up the side. Sports steering wheel cover. If your game enough to peek under the bonnet you'll find A fire breathing 4KC auto power plant. Not for the feint hearted. So there you have it. The car will be the daily shitbox to get me to work. I'll probably give it two cams and 16 valves mated to 5 cogs to make it half exciting. It will also be the new home to my LSD diff. :D
  4. So my 25mm bolt ons are out then??? :)
  5. The easiest way i've found is to pack it full of grease and then punch something through the hole to force it out.
  6. I beleive the earlier AE86 looms didnt come with a diagnostics plug. So your loom may be from an early model AE86.
  7. I give them the big thumbs up. I felt it made the car much more predictable when driving hard. So it chirps a bit when doing U turns and parking. I never found it a problem even when it was my daily car. Only time it was a problem was when there was revenue raising scum... I mean pigs... I mean police around. :)
  8. All my 4ac's used to rattle. I thought it was pinging. I wouldnt be too fussed. As long as its got oil and water it will go forever..... and ever...... and ever... then pull it out and attach it to a chain on the end of a boat where it will find its true calling.
  9. What box are you on now? The one I sold you?
  10. Yeah under all that is a highly modified 7M. Still a f@$king boat anchor in my books...
  11. If you are using non LSD axles, be zenki or kouki they will need to be shortend. But that only applies to factory or TRD LSD's. AFAIK everything else will take both LSD and NON LSD as long as they are the same type ie zenki axles to zenki diff... etc. I would assume a t-18 driveshaft flange would bolt up to a JDM AE86 diff.
  12. Try and lock 1 side in place and then try and turn the other. It should be either really hard to turn or impossible to turn depending on how tight it is.
  13. SR20's are ghey because. A. They are datsun B. They sound like a tractor C. Rocker arms get the f@$k outta here 3S is king of the 2.0 litre turbos.
  14. I do burnouts at the local Maccas carpark.
  15. Watch out cause cops also like to rape people at the spit as well. Usually they don't give a shit about our old corollas anyway. Hell I might even make an appearance in the grandpa mobile.
  16. Sigma control arms will give roughly -3.5 to -4 with standard struts. My car had -3.1 with RA65 struts.
  17. How cheap? If its already mapped for a GZE go for it otherwise avoid. I've got that exact ECU in my 86 and its OK for what it is. Unless your going to go nuts with the GZE, stay with the stock ECU. As with all aftermarket ECU's, you will sacrifice driveability for performance (starts 3rd time, every time).
  18. Yes c'mon lets skidpanning! I hope you're all happy to know I have a much quieter exhaust on the way. Woohoo for legal dB reading.
  19. Yes roundabouts need to be negotiated at grandma speeds but it is possible to drive around normally in the wet with a locked diff. Also what LSD did you end up buying. TRD? Cusco? 1.5 or 2 way? My Cusco 2 way still likes to chirp around corners and makes the odd clunk here and there.
  20. Lockers are the cheapest and easiest way to get both of em spinning. The downside is that they are hard on your drivetrain and will flog out your suspension bushes quicker than normal. They can be a bit of a pain in a daily driven car (ie U turns and reverse parking) plus the whole illegal thing ( I had a couple of occasions where I had to miss my turn and drive straight as there was a cop nearby) A properly welded diff should give you many months if not years of trouble free driving. I find they are more predictable than an open diff and if you find them scary in the wet then you are A: A shit driver B: Not driving properly With months of driving a locked diff I never had it come out without me telling it to. If you take care in the wet and use decent tyres you shouldnt have any problems.
  21. VeeDub Golf VR6 Twin Core aluminium. Wont bolt in but will cool that shit.
  22. Doh WTF! Why didnt anyone tell me this was on.
  23. /me bows to the god of Cusco. MMM LSD. All the fun of a locker without the constant breaking of centres and axles. It's not cheap but after replacing my 5th diff in 12 months it was time. $1300 for the centre $80 for 3.9 T-18 rear end $30 for 4.1 Celica centre $120 for fitting $30 for bearings $20 for oil Drift = Priceless don't be fooled. Stock diffs and VLSD's are crap. Nothing beats a good aftermarket centre.
