  1. maybe they couldn't afford to cut the front springs...only had enough money to get the rears done
  2. the spur?? is that the lovely hillclimb between Broadford and Flowerdale??
  3. now that's fat...if only it were auto :) :)
  4. well, stripping stalled on the first day, had to clean all my parts out of the spare room as my gf acquired a roommate. which as a bonus, means i have someone to help me pull gear out of the ke35 :)
  5. i know what you mean about the head unit. installed my g/f's one in the same spot, made a bracket to support it underneath, and have 2 screws on either side of the console holding it in. the screws almost look like they belong :)
  6. the only way to see if they go is to put some on and see. in vic, you can only legally go 25mm wider than the widest standard wheel for that model car. and you can only go 15mm larger in diameter that the largest diameter of a standard wheel. so if they magically happen to fit inside these reg's (which they don't) then it would be good.
  7. i had seen that green thing powering around before, shame it got put off the road. but not really, without being hit, that 12A would never have found it's rightful home in a rolla :) cross-bred love
  8. some extra stuff for you jip. pic of audrey, owners name is kate the blue parts car got a name as it had a permit when i picked it up, Darren and a pic of red ke20. oh, and also, my real name is Tate cheers :P
  9. another parts car, it would've been great to keep going, but after sitting for 6months, its too far gone for me to bother with :no2: that and once i'm finished with it, it won't have a drivetrain at all :P KE35~915370 May 1978
  10. well i picked up my new engine over the weekend (and a whole heap of misc. crap that is attached to the ke35, like extractors, woodgrain steering wheel, k50, taillights, uncracked dash) been driving it around for the last few days, and boy has it been fun :D now, after finding out that i can put the 5k into the ke20 without needing an engineers report, it's all systems go :) stripping will begin this saturday, and it should be completed by the following weekend. i'll try and keep a diary-like thing happening. cheers df
  11. :) that's the best news i've heard!!! :D i was put off putting a 5k into my ke20 because of the capacity increase. now i think it'll happen very quickly, after i strip my new parts car that is :P:D thanks for the info
  12. ROLF! and that's the way it should be... if it's too hot, you're too weak :locked: :D

  16. cheers all...i'll let you know how things turn out over the next month or so. df
  17. i don't see why not, so long as they don't be idiots driving... also, it'd probly be better for you to join us at the meet point in bacchus, give you some time outta your car for a gasbag
  18. maybe someone told him to sharpen up or that he needed a "rocket up the ass"
  19. speaking of datto's... and then just a good funny one
  20. well as things have finally worked themselves out, i'll be taking hold of a 5K in the next few week, i just need to pick it up. :D the 3K in my 20 has nothing wrong with it, but i feel she needs some more oomph. the obvious choice would be putting the 5K into the 20, but $-wise it isn't so great. so after some very quick thinking i will be putting the 5K into my 55, along with a k50 box i just pulled out from the parts car. now i'll be left with a mechanically sound 4K and 4spd box, and it'd be a waste to see it sitting in the shed for any lengths of time, so i will be putting it into my 20. the only thing i can think of not fitting are the gear-stick hole, and the tail shaft. the gear-stick is a problem that can be fixed with a welder and cutter, but the tail shaft isn't something i can do myself :( will i need to get a shorter tail shaft? is there anything else i might have problems with? thanks df
  21. hopefully this turns out well enough that people can tell where we'll be going. :D well, that's alot worse than i had hoped for :( , but anyway, it won't as hard for you all to follow me as it is that map :fuzz: oh BTW: if anyone wants to help me strip a ke70 some more, feel free to swing by on saturday, as i still gotta take out the rear axle/diff and front brakes before the run :fuzz: call me if you have any questions about the run or would like to help with the stripping cheers DF
  22. here's the parts car, KE70E-9719031 cream/beige CS 5speed may 1982

  24. the version i heard was that the husband being a wealthy guy, bought them new and put them there for storage. he passed away, his wife did a few years after that, and then it was bought and the bounty discovered.
