  1. Hey mate, Been looking through the 7age build, awesome stuff mate. Going to be an absolute weapon when it is done. Good luck with the rest of the build, it's inspirational. Cheers Mick
  2. Hey mate, Yeah the Ke25 manual will be fine, the ke25 is pretty much identical except for a few body differences. It should list the Ke20 in the model covered on the first few pages. CHeers Mick

  4. I was working out figures for a BEAMS conversion in my '25 a few weeks back. With everything to suit legal requirements, i.e. engine in, brakes/suspension upgraded, diff upgraded, everything mounted properly/safely, wired up, exhaust done, tail shaft modified etc etc) I had a figure of $15k approx. That is a lot of work done by myself as well. $6k wouldn't even put a 4age in, if you aren't doing anything yourself. I suggest, do some research on the 5K (plenty of people have done this in their ke1X / ke2X / ke3X / ke5X etc.), there is a lot of information on this forum. Pretty easy motor to swap over if you look in to it and have the tools to do it. Plus it is a good learning experience to do it yourself. Good luck, Cheers Mick
  5. Sounds good, I would be interested to see what else was out there. Cheers Mick
  6. Yeah that is a Ke30 4 door. Fair enough, looks like a big collection though. Cheers Mick
  7. Alix, Is that in Young? Any Ke25's kicking around in there? Cheers Mick
  8. Has anyone been going to the IPRA NSW or MRA Series? I know there were a few rolla's racing a year or two back in the IPRA, but haven't had the chance to get out there this year. Also Wollongong Car Club runs the Huntley Hill climb, the next round is coming up in a few weeks time. Huntley Hill Climb (near Dapto) - August 7th http://www.wscc.org.au/calendar.php IPRA - Wakefield August 19-20-21st http://www.ipransw.com.au/ MRA Series - Wakefield October 30th 2011 http://www.mraseries.com.au/ Cheers Mick
  9. Going super slow for me. Mick
  10. If it is a plastic type, it will be pretty easy to take the clamps off and replace. If it is the metal type, the nuts may be hard to get off, so be careful not to round the nuts. Most corolla's will have the filter on the drivers side in the engine bay(well, early models). When you put the filter in, make sure the arrow is pointing with the flow of the fuel to the motor. Also, when you do it, make sure you have plenty of rags haha. Cheers Mick
  11. If it is running rich, I don't think it would be a fuel filter problem. If anything, it would run lean as there wouldn't be enough fuel going in. Cheers Mick
  12. Glad to see you are making progress Cuz. At least you have the motor and driveline sorted. It's just the painful task of body work. Cheers Mick

    Dry Ice In Sydney

Too easy, thanks guys. There is a BOC down in Taren Point near me, so I may give them a try. I will let you know how I go. Cheers Mick
  14. Hey guys, I have just been doing a bit of searching and found nothing on here, just wondering if anyone has experience buying dry ice in Sydney. Preferably Sutherland Shire or south Sydney. I heard BOC sells it, but I thought I would ask on here to hear peoples thoughts/opinions. Cheers Mick
  15. Definitely have to agree with that comment haha. Cheers Mick
  16. No worries mate. I have been watching your build for a while, looks impressive mate. Good luck with the rest of it. Cheers Mick
  17. Hey Mick, Good to see the '25 is still kicking around. Looking as awesome as ever! Definitely recommend Selby's. I knew Greg a while back and he did some brake and suspension work on my '25. Top bloke and very honest. Cheers Mick
  18. Has anyone been out to this place in Cooma, NSW? I wonder if it would be worth taking a day to drive out there. I am guessing this is the place: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=corner+of+dry+plains+road+and+snowy+mountains+highway,+cooma&hl=en&ll=-36.239263,149.083947&spn=0.007191,0.009645&sll=-36.237887,149.082842&sspn=0.014382,0.01929&gl=au&t=h&z=17 Cheers Mick
  19. Passenger side I am pretty sure, same as the Aus spec AE86. The Jap T50's had the drivers side slave cylinder. When I had my old Ke25 with 4age and jap T50, i did source a slave cylinder to suit drivers side. I will try to find what it came from. edit: Check here man: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tech-conversions/46333-jdm-adm-t50-questions.html Cheers Mick
  20. I have been doing a bit of cutting and welding with my Ke25, I am no where near a professional welder, but it really comes down to practice and having a grinder handy. Also, just taking your time and not rushing it. I am using a gas-less MIG, it's ok, nothing special but it does the job. As for rust treatment, look at POR15 (google it). I have read some amazing reviews of this stuff and I plan to use it in the next few months on the '25 where the common rust areas are. Cheers Mick
  21. Ah fair enough. So haven't been out there lately Cuz? Interested to visit the Northern Road wreckers, but driving from my way would be 1.5hrs each way. Not keen on that! Cheers Mick
  22. I thought I may pop my head in here. I live in the Sutherland shire as well. Previous cars: Ke25, ke20, ke26, ae86 (x2), Jzz30 Soarer, Ke35, RS2000 Escort, R31 Silo w/RB20det. Current: AE96 4age 20v BT and a Ke25 for a project(won't be on the road for a while unfortunately). Cheers Mick
  23. Anyone been out there lately? Or to Northern Road Wreckers? Way too far for me to just casually drive out there. Cheers Mick
  24. It was either $850 or $830, I can't remember. It was definitely reasonable though, considering the condition. Some places wouldn't even touch it, as soon as I said it had no seats. A lot of places I found refused because glass was not intact and also they wouldn't accept with spare parts in the car. Basically I found the criteria for most cars set by transport companies were: Must be a complete shell Must have working brakes Must have seats Must have all glass in place Must have no spares in the cabin So pretty much a car which has broken down. Hopefully this helps someone else out, definitely helped me. Cheers Mick
