  1. got them both out, bubba's is indeed a 3:58, but daisy's is a 4:10....oh, well....she should be wayyy better
  2. if i could add this without offending anyone; when grinding, make sure you do not heat up the metal too much, i.e. discolorization, this means you will warp the metal
  3. bubba and daisy are swapping diffs today...... considering that bubba has 3:58's and daisy has 4:30's the te38 i just found has 3:75's...i will be saving it just in case
  4. i have lots of experience in 'glass, we built the Mach5 from speedracer, and started doing repops of the original Batmobile i took my original Cricket dash, bogged up the cracks, inserted 3 spray can tops over the passenger side and one top in the bottom corner of the driver's side coted it in gelcoat, let it dry for a week (longer than required) then waxed the shit outta it. this made the plug. coated it with gelcoat again, then used the chopgun to lay in the 'glass. In this application, it should have been cloth instead of chop, but since i wasn't paying for any of the materials, and he was spraying chop anyway, it just got done. this made the mold. then wax the shit outta it again, spray gelcoat, chop (or cloth) run all the air bubbles outta it, and you got a part. getting it outta the mold was a pain in the ass, and my original dash was destroyed in the process. i've got guages in the 3 spray can tops and my tach is in the 4th it's a real pain in the ass for a onetime use, but if your gonna make parts and sell them, go for it i will post pocs when i get her out here, 3 weeks
  5. one wire goes to battery, one wire goes to ign, last goes to lamp ground.

  10. love the ke1X because at the tender young age of 15, when riding my 2spd puch moped, i came across a ke17 sprinter. 3kc, red k40 love at first sight....there was nothing wrong with it when he parked it, just that he had a company car with free gas well, it sat for 10 years, i put a half ass battery in it, primed the carb, and drove it immediatly home (on 10 yr-old gas, no less) it used to overheat A LOT, so i traded it for a '66 dodge polara x-police car and regretted it the second i closed the deal i found daisy 6 mos. later and bugged that old man for 9 YEARS to sell her to me he finally did, and now she's almost done.
  11. they just pull off (hard) MAKE SURE YOU MARK THE RELATIVE POSTION FIRST!!!! mark the drum in the speedo, etc.....

  15. ok tonite, piled in bubba to go to wal-mart, no headlights. all the other lights work ex. turn and hazards. checked every single fuse in the 2 panels, none are blown. went to wal-mart in g/f's neon, came home, saw lights flashing waaayyyy up the road....guess who? guess bubba is freakin possesed! so now everything works ex. right side high/low beam. wtf?!
  16. i was about 100*f here, i spent the day welding up bubba's rust and relearned a valuble lesson; DON'T WELD WEARING SHORTS!!! not counting the sunburn yet, though
  17. you would want the tubing smaller on the engine side, right? the 4KE EFI use a pcv valve, and the other port goes straight int to plenum, if you take the oil cap off, it will run lean....(false air)
  18. looks awesome, we didn't get that body after '78. the steering wheel is on the wrong side, though. tips; don't go putting 17" or 16" stick with old school 14" dish stlye wheels
  19. mmmmm lucky seats
  20. mine looks a lot like that one except i have'nt a tach, i do have the digital clock, my idiot lights are smooth and hidden. ok, i bought a set of coilover springs on ebay for $13usd. the guy didn't know what they were for, but i got the fronts on without the adjuster sleeve (too small to fit over the strut) it sits a little lower than i like, but they wouldn't fit the rear at all, so i took the front springs and put them in the rear, cut 2 coils off of them, now it sits with a little rake. took him flying down these clay roads we have here, super drifter style....i'm happy..... oh, the front struts were empty, so i put 70w gear oil in them, they are nice and firm now
  21. HEY!!!! I'M the ONLY mikey in this forum!!!!! :P
  22. the heads are standard early 3KC heads, the intake ports are huge, the exhaust look stock. it will cost $60usd to ship 30lbs to austraila
