sorry, had to dig this'un up as i know a lot about these carbs. easiest way to tune a dft/dgv/dgav is to; turn your idle up to when it starts to miss, usually 1,200-1,800rpm turn your a/f mixture in or out until it smoothes out. if you went in, you need to install a smaller progression jet if you went out, you need a bigger one :angrybird:

my last head was ground down to that point; i had to run 91 octane, retard the timing 12*, it used oil, smoked, ran like shit and STILL pinged. i found a virgin head and am much happier. oh ya, that was my original '69 3k head, it cost me $200 to have it rebuilt and i only used it for a week anyone want it?

that page doesn't take me anywhere, jamie so the 1g-gte is an inline 6? if so, i'd got sr20 just for ease of conversion, parts availibility and drivibility

hey i've got a first gen. corolla manual (up to '70) i bought of ebay hopng it would have lots of info on body and suspension. it focuses mostly on engine/trans. it was printed in austrailia and that's where i bought it. any interest at all?

unless they f@$k with your car first. i agree that the person's car has nothing to do with whether or not that person is an asshole mess with the car, it's open season case in point; when i blew the original 200,000mi engine in my cricket, i parked at a local 7-11. i told the manager what was up and asked if i could leave it there until i got a tow he said, sure but to get it before 11pm, cause he would be off shift and it would be towed i thanked him and left. this was 8 am 4pm i went there with my dad and it was gone, i went inside and he said it made his store look like shit and was tired of looking at it. so he had it towed away. bob locked himself in the office and called the police(maybe 'cause i threatened his life) called the towyard, he towed it at 9am, 1hr after i left. i went there 9pm, drained the oil from the crankcase, cut the oil sending unit wire, drained the diff oil into a 5 gal bucket. next day i went to get my car and saw bob's truck on the side of the freeway....i never saw it again i feel no regret, he deserved it

excuse me for sounding like a moron; but what did the 1g-gte come out of? i know out here the sr20 is supposedly the shit, if you can't go rotary (drags anyway) i don't know anything about the 1g-gte

MY head's been ground to that point...the rockers had to be shimmed 'cause the pushrods wont fit under the rockerarms i will be changing this head soon XANY; could you tell me the lengths of the respective pushrods (datsun a12 to 4k) maybe i could just do that for now

you should pour the brake fluid carefully around his/her windshield front/rear seal; it will eat the paint, attack the metal and dry out the seal. they will NEVER get it to stop rusting, and never get paint to stay in there

hold on a minute..... i know we got the k40 and k50 but i have seen a k51 from a starlet (what i'm using now) and a k61 (5 speed)from an EFI starlet....it has evenly spaced gears. the k61 has a totally different bearing retainer than the k50,51

the ones i bought will fit right onto the stock exhaust; the collector is a clamp fit with a length of formed pipe reducing it to whatever the stock size was. you have to cut your original pipe down by the trans mount and clamp it on i threw mine away as i already have 2" pipe
