I was the same. Used to park in the old Curtis St Car Park in Ballarat an watch the traffic go by with mates. No one ever seemed to stuff around their so it was a good spot. It seemed that if someone started doing something stupid, they would be brought into line quickily by the group. It always seemed to by a P plater in daddies commodore that were the problems. If you want to go out and do skids then find private property to do it on or go to an organised event. Don't know, but becoming a dad may have something to do with my attitude.

Suppose you could space frame the car, sit the engine next to the driver and run as a sports sedan. I remember there was a supercharged 350 chev powered corolla at the summernats years ago. Think it ended up as a turbo rotary. It was the yellow and green one.

One of my biggest hates is this sort of bullshit on the streets. Sure in my younger days I wernt cruising with some mates but never did it get to the street racing/burnout stage. Honestly, if this is the mentality of the drives then they don't belong behind the wheel of a car! If they are such good drivers then join a car club and compete legally You may thionk my attitude is harsh but I feel that this sort of bullshit behaviour gives everyone a bad name in the general community. As soon as someone sees you have a modified car then you are classed as a hoon no matter how you drive. PS. having a waste of oxygen decide to drop a burnout in reverse 1m from my wagon didnt help with my attitude

Yeah, I was thinking understeer. There was a Datsun 240K set up with a V8 in Bendigo and it handled like a piece of shit. Off road suspension and all the weight over the front......

Ta Fook. Its all at your friendly Holden dealer. Wheels, kit, suspension and interior are all Holden by Design options. Just cost lotsa extra $$$$$$$ :sad:

If its a show car, then it doesnt really matter if its legal sitting at a show. You could have your big diameter wheels for show and a smaller, but similar set for road use. With $4k worth of paint, I'm guessing road use would be minimal. Also who is doing your paint? There is a guy in Ballarat who has supported me over the years which I like to throw some business to if possible. He is one of the old style of painter/panel beaters who will actually repair something instead of throwing new parts at it if it is possible. Also he has painted cars that have one awards in shows over the years. Also painted parts of the Cenovis/Bannana Boat V8 supercar Falcon years ago.

Wasn't there this year due to work not giving us the week off. Its very wishy washy who gets time off in the education system. Some get time off for pissy reasons but we were not able to get the time off for an international sporting event :thumbsup: Remember the Sherin Hire guys from Targa a couple of years ago. Nice group of blokes. Ended up with the drivers hat, along with a few others.

Jusr wondering who out their is involved in motorsport in any way apart from the few obvious ones. Could be actual competition, officialling, helping out etc. To start you off. Me motorkahnas up to national level, club level autocrosses etc. Rally official, including Australian Rally Championship (Subaru Safari in Tassie mainly) and Targa Tasmania. Also a few national, state and club rallies over the years here in Vic. Thats about it for little old me. So if you wish to add your experience to this post go for it. If not..........

Swapped my first rolla for a ute. (hastily ducks for cover and covers head knowing what is about to come) :thumbsup: The offer was to good to let go. 1978 HZ ute canopy/bullbar/lights etc GENUINE 50,000 odd km's original purchase reciepts/books etc never had a radio fitted from new, no hole in dash never been pranged/ original paint and interior been in family from new Wish I still had it but at 19 mpg on the freeway it was a killer when work was approx 130km round trip every day.

Dunno, Only the Simmons have really grabbed me so far. Have you thought about getting a custom set made. Uncle was looking at this for his EH (mainly due to the offset required because of the narrowed diff). They were looking at Dragway Wheels, made here in Victoria I think Dragway Wheels On an old Corolla you need something with a bit of dish in my opinion. Actually anything RWD looks tuff with deep dish rims. Some of Dragway's billet rims may apply. eg.

Let me see, Second hand extractors bought for $20 Length of 2" truck engine pipe $0 Second hand muffler $20 Piece of 3" truck engine pipe for droopy tip $0 Complete exhaust system for $40 :thumbsup: Only problem is that it went under the diff housing not over it.

In my experience, the car will still run without that wire connected but it runs crap and idles crap.

The wire hasn't fallen off of the soleniod (spelling) on you carby. The one that stops it from running on. That will stuff up your idle.

While any license holder can drive a vehicle up to 4.5t why should a special license be required for 4wd's. My Commodore wagon is 4.9m long, 1.8m wide and weighs 1700kg unloaded. Apart from weight it is close to being the same size a Nissan Patrol. Should I be made to have a special license to drive it. My old HZ ute was longer than my fathers Nissan Patrol but I would not have to a a special licence to drive it. Instead of targeting a special group, all drivers need to be tested properly. At the moment it seems if you can complete a written test and reverse park you can obtain a license.

My old KE35 (5K, 3KB carbies) used to ice up regulary between Melbourne and Ballarat - no matter what time of the year. Really any long continuous running at constant throttle would set it off. Ended up having to run tubing off the extractors into the aircleaner housing as it didn't have a winter setting. Also found that running a small amount of octane booster helped mionimise the problem. PS. it was well below ten degrees down here :)

If I can remember correctly (7 years of killing brain cells since we last done this), isn't there an issue with the mounting bolts being different sizes for the backing plates between the KE20 and the KE55? May also be possible to bolt a KE20 hub onto the KE55 disc to keep your old bolt pattern. Have done this with KE35 dics and calipers so I didn't have to replace 3 sets of rims.
