  1. I think this car is (or at least will be) fantastic. Take a break from it and go back to it when you can. Unless it's a space issue I'd just tarp her up and put her aside, don't sell her off. Although it might not seem like it to look at her, you have actually come a long way with this car. Don't give up now.
  2. Welcome Matt... Welcome Matt... Welcome Matt.... Not sure when our next cruise is but we always have more than a healthy gathering of T18's :fuzz:
  3. Don't drive angry!
  4. Thanks Chobis & Davros. The paint is 6 coats of enamel, nice and thick so I can buff her back to shiney a few times :fuzz: I also perfer the original look, but wanted to play with it a little. She will be very close to stock. The things I have changed I believe will compliment each other when she is on show. It should find some middle ground between the restorer crowd and the show crowd... least that is my aim. I'm looking forward to showing her at Motorvation but a straight original restoration gets no attention there. The gauges, stereo & bling wheel should help her... and I like them  Edit: I've got her booked in for a full rewireing, show style (all hidden and battery in the boot). Just gotta book the bumpers and grill in for repair/rechroming and the dash pad in for retrimming. Sooo close :)
  5. Where is it leaking? Do you just need new oil seals and sump gasket or do you need to take the head off? If you just need to change the front oil seal and sump gasket it won't cost much. But if you need to change the rear seal it will take a lot of time and the engine will need to come out. Once you start looking at the head gasket you will also need to get the head skimmed, this will start to cost a bit.
  6. You can bolt the toyoglide straight onto a 3k, 4k or 5k and bolt straight in with no mods. You could rebuild the 1k but 3k's are cheep as chips, just throw one of them in. Edit: Don't ditch your 1K. Drain it, wack some grease in the bores, wrap it up and store it somewhere dry... They are getting harder to find and you might want to put the car back to original one day (or sell with original engine).
  7. If it helps she will only be wearing this wheel on special occasions. Going to steel the stock wheel out of my KE20 for every day use. Also, I've gone with black for the handbrake.
  8. Register the engine swap and hope the engine isn't listed as stolen.
  9. OK, OK, I'll cancel the sill plates... but I need new ones :(
  10. Lol, nope not kidding. Going bling :(
  11. I hear fender mirrors are a bit useless when it's raining..
  12. Got some new bits on the way :ninja: These next 2 but in White Desided to go with the bling theme... original was already out the window with the dekota digital gauges and new deck :(
  13. Don't tease me Uncle Shady :lolcry: Perth is having it's worst winter on record as far as cold goes. I'll trade you some of our cold?
  14. I second that :lolcry: Great find.
  15. Alttezza, you missed the point of the scheme completely. It was to help young people get into a market that had been swamped (and thus prices inflated) by people moving in from overseas (or over east as the case was for WA). You are part of the cause, no way should you get the grant. Edit: I should add that I don't mean this as a personal attack, I greatly appreciate the knowledge and perspective you bring to Rollaclub :lolcry: The reason this topic gets to me is that just because of my age I had to pay over $300k for a house that for the past 20 years had only moved in value from ~$60k to ~$100k. Most people 5 years or more older than me were given ~$100-200k equity almost overnight.
  16. Work the body work work the body Slow down girl you're bout to hurt somebody! :lolcry:
  17. Best drift clip ever :)
  18. This is what I was thinking about when I read the topic title. There's a hell of a lot more to a working airbag system than the airbag. I would expect this to cost more than a top of the line cage, racing seats, harnesses, helmet and race suit...
  19. That thing would suck balls in WA. Not many trips where you don't get a chance to go over 107km/h :) I'd want mine set at 140-150... not that I ever drive that fast :)
  20. As bad as a KE10 I saw with a Sprinter badge on the back... Why bother, those who don't know the difference won't like it either way, those who do know the difference will think you're a tool :)
  21. I think the Ipod gripe has more substance :jamie:
  22. He already changed plans to a 4AGE guys. 1UZ would be great fun on a burnout pad or drag strip... not on or anywhere near a road :jamie:
  23. Chech with Davros , his Ke10 has what you're after. Yes there is a lot of work.
  24. I'd pay to see that :jamie:
