  1. Hi
  2. Damn.
  3. Anywhere but Pedders I would suggest. They will tell you everything needs replacing, standard opperating procedure for most pedders stores. Your local tire place should be able to inspect and repair, Ian Diffen fixed mine.
  4. Drum brakes on rear are fine... I don't think the style of brakes is the problem, probably more the condition of them or some other component?? Check with the other Rolla nuts in your area and see if they know of a trusty mechanic who can fix (or replace) yours properly. When working properly there are no issues with the rear brakes or handbrake in stock standard format. I think swapping out for someone else's drum brake setup would fix easier than swapping for a disc setup. I hope this is helpful, even if it's not the answer you were hoping for??
  5. Does Godfather mean you get to borrow the baby to pick up chicks (they can't resist a cute baby :D) then return it as soon as it starts to smell funky??
  6. I thought you did a great job explaining the symptoms... my two cents worth. I agree with Robert. Our Celica was having similar issues, visually all looked ok but had several of those components bent. Got them replaced and a wheel alignment and she's as good as new :D
  7. Fantastic thread, I love the box for the twin SU intake. :jamie:
  8. :jamie: I'm still happy with the rolla's as my babies for now... but that will change after I finish them all (if I ever finish them all) :jamie: Congrats man!
  9. OK, I've had my licence for about 10 years. Here's the list: 1985 Blue AE82 Sedan 1985 White AE82 Sedan 1992 Pearl White 1UZZ30 V8 Soarer, ex-demo car for stereo company with $10K stereo :( 2004 Silver Avalon (loved the 3L 1MZFE power) 1967 White KE10 Corolla (my baby), not finished restoration... but close 1972 Blue KE20 Corolla, not running yet. Undecided 4AGE or 3K?? 1982 Yellow RA60 Celica (the wife's baby) I think the main thing missing is a Supra
  10. Who are the "we" that are organising this? What exactly is a scavenger hunt cruise? and what is the money going towards?? What other clubs are involved?
  11. Damn that's one bad day. So the mechanic seems to think the engine will be all fine once the new pressure switch is in? I hope you have a better day today :P
  12. That is a hatch isn't it?? Looks tidy, great find. :)
  13. Loved the traffic compilation and the tetris one... Fantastic :)
  14. Not much. I've tracked down a dash pad!! Will be booking the car in to get re-wired in a month or so, then get the windows put in. After that everything is ready to reassemble :) I'm not rushing it, 2-3 months I would think. Have to finish a couple other projects first.
  15. Looking good... I'm drooling over those wheels!!
  16. Should be there in the wife's Celica.... it will make all your Rolla's seem fast
  17. I can't see it... but I'll assume it looks great! Welcome to the club.
  18. I love this thread Shady :D Can't wait to see the sexy after pics... you will be in the pics right? :rolls:
  19. Been away for a week, just read all the new posts in here... Leslie, Redwarf: you summed up exactly what I've been thinking of Toyota lately. They have a huge lineup of cars, not one of which has any style and most of which I think the current versions went backwards from older versions... Especially the latest corolla :P Stop teasing us with the FT86 and give it to us already!! :D My wife is looking at a step up in her career that would warrant her driving a new car, but we couldn't justify spending enough for a new Lexus and nothing Toyota is offering is any good... I hate to think where that leaves us.
  20. Aren't several car makers releasing similar boxes (kia soul for one)?? I don't see anything individual or risk taking in this, they are following the current trend in my opinion. I personally think this current trend it ghastly and hope it dies soon so we can get back to cars with style.
  21. Hard to get in WA. I paid $300 + $300 in freight.
  22. Hey Comtoy, great buy! I brought a set of these for $300. I got 2 of the KE3X or KE2x (can't remember for sure) carby rebuild kits off ebay and they had larger jets and fitted perfectly (I was after larger jets because it was going on a 5K).
  23. I got mine from Instant Windscreens, had to be ordered in.
  24. YAY! Good to hear
