Must be a pretty overrated ke70! Flushing the block out sounds good... Radiator is brand new bought it more recently than the thermo. :) What is a reverse flush? I flushed it when I got the new radiator but I'm thinking I should just pay to get it done properly. Thanks for the advice about the shroud, I've read that a bit around here and other forums. Hmm... so if you're saying suck cold air by means of extending the reach of the air filter, could I somehow slap a pod at the end of it? I've thought about doing it but I'm unsure how the piping would attach to the Aisin carby... Cheers.

Panelvan aye? Haha... hmmm that's something to consider haha. New forum: http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/

I'd have an ae71 right now if it weren't for the slanty front... not much of a fan.

Hey. I'm sick of the stock air filter on my 70. It's a hassle to get on and off, especially with the catch can... so I was thinking about getting a K&N. I'm interested to know what these are like once fitted. Which leads me to my next question... my car gets hot quite easily in the hot weather (usually sits at exactly half but can go a bit above 3/4 in the afternoon up a hill). I was considering going down the thermo fan route but I'm curious if it's something to do with my thermostat or a flow problem with the radiator... the thermostat was replaced a couple of months ago, so I don't think it's that. So, my other question is, is there any kind of test to make sure the coolant is getting to all the places it should be? I know it's a stupid question but I want to make sure that the factory cooling is working before slapping on a thermo. Edit: Also, what kind of rate of coolant loss is normal for these cars? Cheers.

Hahaha.. oh crap.

Haha can't say that that's happened to me, although I don't watch TV that much.
-
I sometimes read the news stories that I told Google to show me on the search page... but I hate it when you go and read one and all of a sudden a friggon video ad comes on. I can't stand TV and commercial radio as it is, but having some friggon site steal my bandwidth to show me some ad I couldn't give a flying f^^^ about is really annoying.
-
Interesting... A shaved head would affect compression, yeah? If so, what kinda of adjustment would I make to compensate for this? What about a porting job? Would a change of fuel octane (ie between unleaded and ultimate/premium) require adjustment? Or do you mean like ethanol or crazy stuff? I thought if your timing wasn't set to the standard timing (or adjusted to suit the things you listed minus the last one) that it would mean the engine won't run as well? Could you please explain this a bit more? Cheers.
-
Hey guys. Just wondering in what cases you'd adjust the timing on a car? I've heard that you do after you put a Weber on, but what are other cases when you would change it (apart from when it's out from wear and tear)? Cheers.
-
Stronger return spring just made it harder to unstick. Tried the wd40 thing. I ended up putting the Aisin carby back on as the Weber had too many issues.
-
Tame Impala - Half Full Glass Of Wine I don't actually listen to them but they were on JJJ and it suited the footage so I went with it haha.
-
Haha! I dunno about leading... haha. Maybe second? I'm always worried about speed cameras and shit haha.
-
Weber is off and Aisin back on. Drives like a charm. :bash:
-
Cheers for the pics. I prefer the silver ones though.. but I guess this will have to be on my to-do list haha.
-
Hahaha. Yeah it was a good route.
-
I've sprayed the whole thing with wd40 to no avail... we put Chris' return spring on which was really stiff and it did the exact same thing except was way harder to unstick. The cable moves freely within the casing. :bash:
-
Hey guys. My weber's accelerator mechanism is sticking... Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator, it (accelerator thing at weber end of cable) gets all sticky and I have to kinda kick it and give it revs for it to become unstuck... as you can imagine I look like a complete tool revving at traffic lights and everytime I stop, and it's making driving not fun at all... can anyone suggest a way to fix this? I went and wasted $10 on wd40 since I wasn't at home and it didn't fix it at all... Cheers. Edit: Should mention that this is a reconditioned carby and hasn't been on my long enough to succumb to wear/crap inside it.
-
Were the earlier or later ones pictured? Sounds like I'm better off going for the SAAB ones?
-
Cheers! :bash: Link to interceptorish rims on Jono's KE20!

Since you gave no explanation whatsoever I'm going to assume that's purely your opinion of them on a looks basis. :bash:

I got a thermo fan now and it looks like it will fit quite well, but I have to buy an aftermarket temperature switch (Davies Craig) which is gonna set me back $80 - that's more than the friggon thermo cost me! As well as getting an electrician to wire it all up... and having heard about cameron's switch dying I'm not too sure... but the thermo I bought was wired directly to the ignition on the car it was off, so it didn't have a switch. :bash:
