I'm having my first holiday in years I'm that excited I will tell anyone who will listern. The missus and I are flying into Maroochydore on the 27th of march and going to hire a car( if anyone from around there know of any good rental deals please let me know)and spend a week driving up to airlie beach. Then go out to one of the islands for a couple of days. Shove the missus on a flight from Hamilton island back home. then cruise down to my mates 160 acres at Baffle creek. He has a 23' half cabin so I think i can amuse myself while he's at work. Then on the 15th of april I drive back to maroochy, drop off the car and fly home. :jamie: :D :P I can't wait

The headunit was cursed. Maybe its better gone! I bought Craig the headunit for his eighteenth and put it in his original Ke30. It packed up after a week. Over the next five months it went back to the manufacturer 3 times, taking about 6 weeks each time. I finally lost my cool and it was replaced with a new unit. We've copped that many bodgey parts that we have bought new, the radio being the first. So "yeah" I hope it has taken the curse with it before the new motor goes in

You can trust me on this one. We had to replace the drivers window on friday.(bastard radio thieves) To replace the widow I had to pop one set of rubbers out. Its easy once you've had a go :P

I can tell the answer some of this. We got a perfect set for the whole car at the wreckers. If you wind the window right down one set pops out just put a flat screwdriver behind and work it out. Then you have room to remove the other set. I think you push them in and down. :o They hook on a lip in the top of the door.

I think the track width is different. Somewhere there is a thread where someone measured the diff mounts of the different models. I could be wrong though!

You have to change the sump a 3k one fits you just have to modify the oil pick up. Due to stud patterns only a 7k head will fit the block. All kmotors fit k bell housings. 7K starter motor is smaller in the body We will know just how a 7k revs in a couple of weeks. We need a 7k manifold gasket. Got laughed at when i rang around a 7what they all said. Why would you want to over rev a 7k Max tourque is about 4250 Max horsepower low 6000

In 1998-99 petrol and gas both went up by about 30cents. I have had many 6cyl on gas/petrol and 1staight gas. My estimate was it took 2years to save the cost. The staight gas did run better. Oil droppers are expensive. A flashlube resivoiur is a good idea. Thats right the same stuff you add to ULP. it was origanally invented as a gas addative.

Don't let FEAR hold you back. If you ever want to learn basic mechanics the KE55 is a real simple car to learn on. As Nick said the labour cost just makes it non viable. Tell us a bit about the condition of the car. Is it going? Does it have much rust? Is it stock? I have been taught a lot by ROLLACLUB members and am willing to pass on what I've learn't. Also learnt a fair bit by making mistakes. If you have a try yourself you willend up saving a fair bit of money and the pride in your car will be 100 times greater :y: P.S. Where are you from
