I use to work with a guy who had australia's fast n/a rotary, he told me easy to get massive power out of a "chook-cooker" but the move power you get the less engine life, ( his rx2 ran 10's @ the creek) i was told a 12a bolts straight in to a ke20 but all you had to do was change the "tunnel" i was told to install an hilux diff.

My current project is a 1984 dual cab 4wd hilux, I am building it for only 4wd use, but i need to find a new cab firstwork to be done Diff locks(detriot in front,ARB in rear),winch,dual tanks,turbo,dual transfer cases.Work already done,2L rebuilt and tuned for fuel economy,rebuilt and toughend gear box,rebuilt both diff's,dual batteries under bonnet,completely rewired.Once thats finished i will start working on my ke20.... maybe a 3t or something... hoooo hum.....

Hello all, Could some body please scan and e-mail me the rebuild procedure + pix for the carby off my ke20, My carby kit is not the right one and it fell apart when i pull the two main bolts out of it... so i am ...... without help..... thanks :P

we made one of these 10 or so years ago and pushed heaps of ball bearings into the potato and shot it a an old gemini wagon for about 60mtr's away, when the potato hit the car it sprayed all of the ball bearings everywhere, the potato when right through the car door and the bearing left what looked like a shot gun blast all over the side of the car, even broke the drivers window.... , it was made to shoot tennis ball's and it easily over shot an AFL oval, cricket balls only went 50 or so meters....

hello all, apprenticeships are ALL crap, i was an apprentice mechanic for 2 years and all i was though was how to sweep floors, I finailly left the job when the boss told me he was paying me too much (award) for the amount of work i could do, the funny thing was i though my self to sevices cars on weekends and i could do a complete service quicker then his other two mechanics..... and i hated working on my own cars i had to send my car to the wreckers because it got that bad.... I am now 27 years old and was offered a job as a apprentice Refridgeration mech. but they they told me they could only pay junior award...remember they wanted me to work for them...... i was not even looking for a job...... the sum all of this up....THERE ALL TIGHT ARSE ALCOHOLIC NAZI'S every trade i mean... you might as well apply of a job working in and internet help desk and get paid $45k plus a year then work in a trade.... what i don't understand is there will be no trades people left in 10years time, so why doesnt somebody pay good wages...

Hi all, The new canberra group of people are looking for some where to source old rolla parts from, the wreakers in canberra are so over priced and have little or no parts, if anybody can help us please let us know, so far we need parts for ke20's and 70's. just spare's would be good but addon bits would be great.... thanks in advance

a little note for you, that ticking noise in an diesel is the injectors firing, diesels use mechanical injection so to cut a long story short thats the noise you hear... when you run 22:1 compression and no spark the fuel need to be shot in hard, when i loosen my injector from the block fuel flies out and lands 5 meters away... anyways thats my two cents worth... proberly not of any help but you could be hearing your injectors firing........

my mate is putting a 1g-alphabet in to a vl dunnydore, we found out there is two different types , one with a front sump and the other with rear sump, one is built for the top of the line luxury car, the other for the sports cars but the luxury one can not be upgraded as much some thing to do with the mods toyota made for the sump change, the bad news i can't remember which is which....

i am currently in the process of making biodiesel for my hilux to run off, its just cooking oil, should improve engine responce and the only side effect is you exhaust smells like popcorn LOL, will cost around 60cents a litre not $1.20 like normal diesel.

hold on mcguyver only used the pyramids to travel to different worlds..... oops... thats stargate..... back to the sidcrome stuff i suppose... the hilux idea rock's ( only because i owned one) They would have had to have diesel engines they would have run them off there old cooking oil... as the was no petrol available then.... go the LN65 with the old 2L mechanical injection rules....

i don't know what it was called but it looked like that thing and it had a toyota motor as far as i remember..

sorry i can't find the web site, i am pretty sure its off one of those site with heaps of stupid stuff on them, the bit i remember is when the cart drove down the race track straight conpletly sideways and still excelerating.....

ok here we go..... you can buy an led flasher unit in kit form from dick smith or jaycar, easy to assamble and all you will need to do is replace your flasher "can" with the led flasher unit, but if you want a cheats way of doing it...get the normal flasher unit to "flash" a relay which in turn controls the led's, or another way of doing it is use resisters to load the normal flasher unit... or you can buy leds with in built flasher units, I have not tried to resister or relay method because i already had the kit made up. I have just bought a spare dash for my ke20 and i am going to change it all to leds, i will send some pix when i am done, it will take me about a month to make up the control module alone as differnent lights behind the dash need different currents, but once it's done i will post the wiring diagram. If you would like the jaycar part numbers i will look on a few web sites now for you, and i will look through a few catalogs at work tomorrow as well, i need part numbers for my self anyways

why don't you put the gearbox in backwards.... 5 reverse gears could be handy...
