  1. Just keep your hot weather down there, NSW doesnt want it.
  2. Just stay off the mainland! we have enough dangers! Congratulations mate. Enjoy it and hopefully you get through the other side of your Ps unscathed!
  3. as Hiro said, Trolley jack on the engine cradle and away you go, just be careful of it slipping as you get higher. Jack stands about half a foot behind the wheel arch where the A pillar is then let it down slowly.
  4. nothing wrong with that! haha
  5. bahahaha, someone has their computer playing music (other then me for once) here in the office, its coming from the offices behind me, which are all males.... nothing too interesting there, BUT the song thats on is "barbie girl" by aqua. I nearly spat out my coffee!
  6. A little less then what they are selling for here! :hmm: Doesnt have to be a true to kind replica though, that was more the point, any mustang done up as an eleanor would be money better spent then doing it to a corolla or a celica. I wasnt implying that a fastback (of any year) would be cheap as chips. On another note, a company in th US has started doing all new mustang shells, not cure what models they are doing but from memory they were starting with the Mach1
  7. I always found the pulsar recaros (atleast the earlier ones) to be a pretty ugly looking seat.
  8. I would, but according to some this place is a corolla only thing..... sorry.
  9. Just remember. liquid in one end means liquid from the other! :D
  10. ^ thats a pretty good point hey! They wouldnt fit on the bottom rear bolts on the SUs which was a twat of an idea. I'm pretty impressed with alot of tool makers these days, Snapon used to be the only decent brand out there, but Kingchrome and others have really increased their quality in the last few years.
  11. might just be the perspective. I think that bloke had them re-packed before he fitted them, could explain the puffiness. But they give a general idea of the seats and wadding. comfy as hell too! haha.
  12. Wheres your grandads farm? Looks like he planted a healthy crop of cars and trucks about 20-30 years ago!
  13. Not sure how well they would fit, but late model commodore (VT-VX SS) seats have a decent side wadding and are a "bucket" style. They fit width wise and height wise in toranas, so they would more then likely fit in your rolla. There are plenty of them at the wreckers too, just steer clear of the bloody ones! Other then that, I can reccomend mid-late90s early 2000s integre seats, The typeRs came with some decent buckets over the years. WRX seats are another lot that come up from time to time as upgrades in early model cars of all makes. just to illustrate the commo seats in a torana thing plenty of room accross, and they come in alot of different fabrics and styles. Just another option to consider if you arent worried about using something out of a commodore.
  14. I would have just bought a couple thousand dollar mustang body from the US and gone from there, import fees would total a couple grand, then go nuts on it and end up with a "real" replica (thats kind of double dutch... but you get the point) Thats not to take away from the skills involved, but they are a bit of an abomination!
  15. I bought a set of kingchrome lever reversable, imperial sized ones just before chrissy. (same type as the picture in the top post) They are pretty decent, I can't say I have used them to undo anything mega tight, but they make life easier in those tight spots where you have limited room (only need 5* to work) and they give your hands/arms a lot less curry when trying to do up that prick of a bolt where you can't always see to use a normal spanner over and over. The lever reverse ones have the benefit of the fact you can still use the neck of the spanner (the slight bend found in most spanners) to get into certain areas and still use both directions. The only downside is that they are a little pricey, I think my imperial set cost $105 trade.
  16. Mirrorshine metal polish. It comes in a small, gray/silver bottle and is the best polish for alloys and anything really. I used to use purple polish, but this stuff takes the cake.
  17. yeah, it looks like they pulled off something no major marketing campaigners thought they could! They all thought Mother was stupid for re-using a failed brand name, and that people would associate the brand with the bad tasting last version. they sure proved them wrong!
  18. depends on where the water jackets are located as to where they take the meat for the ports. Best bet would be to mark out the ports on a gasket or even on cardboard and go from there. You can buy sheets of gasket material straight off the shelf that should suit what you want done.
  19. where are you from? someone was on about a bookshop called "pitstop" in perth somewhere that had tonnes of manuals for lots of different cars and engines.
  20. would be interesting to see how many you catch (do you fish alot?) over a period of time and see if more appear as time goes by. Might even be something the CSIRO are interested in.
  21. the lass posting ^^ is my partner, she has been a member on here for a while, just doesnt post. :hmm: Just incase anyone was wondering.
  22. for the sake of discussion, I might chuck this on the download list at home tonight and give it a watch when I get time.
  23. I run a set of triple inch and three quater SUs on my 202, and have had drama after drama with them from day one. I ended up rebuilding pretty much everything. New needles, new butterflies, new throttle shafts, new piston springs etc. I still have problems with one of the carbies, no matter what we do or how many times we balance them and drop or raise the flats, its never run as perfect as the other two, its always too lean or too rich (usually the latter) sometimes they can seem, perfect and still be rotten pains in the bum. If you are chasing a vacuum pump to mess with, VK commodores, non injected ran a vacuum pump, lots of them are now seized up or have been sent to the scrap heap but a wreckers with any old VK vacationers or some of the other models with the black 202s (non injected remember) should have vacuum pumps, they ran them as part of emissions gear.
  24. :hmm:
  25. Lift plus used to be the best choice when there was only V and lift plus. V always seemed to taste like crap, it was only the energy crap that made you drink it! The old mother was pretty bad though, pretty big move to go and change it completely.
