  1. The autodarkening helmet is great help in welding. I used to use them in my class. They can be hard to use when welding in some awkward position, or in situation when the light at the back is brighter the then welding pieces at the front.
  2. This one is really old, but just refuse the die.
  3. 100-200 amp machine would probably burn holes on thin sheet metal. If no holes made, it'll warp the panel. Something below 50amp if fine.
  4. I hate rust.... Well, the rusts spots are quite large. It'll be larger if you prod with a screwdriver, when you wish to find out the extent of rusted metal. The rust area at the side of the rear boot space can be tricky to fix. They are normally cut out from outside and replaced with a new panel. The rocker panel would also a tricky fix. if you consider fixing it, do take a look of the inner sill too, as it is susceptible to rust too. Once fix, apply anti rust. The rest of the rust spots are straight forward to fix, even for e DIY-er with plenty of patience, reasonable skill and tool/equipment. Good luck with the repair
  5. The rust area in the boot sounds like a tough job as it occurs in hard to reach area. I used to have a car with rust behind the kick panel. The panel beater was having trouble working on the rust area. Even worst was the dashboard was above his head, further limiting his reach It was almost a job for a contortionist.

  9. Guys, I have a spare KE70 lamp sitting around and thinking of putting LED instead. Would it be considered illegal if I convert the original light bulb to a few rows of LED lights? (DIY soldered together) Won't be any different from outside, but it will definitely be brighter when the light is on.
  10. Since its about dream cars, I don't mind dream a little dream for these.... or or maybe
  11. hmmm, what's with the car with 2 flags stuck to the rear of the car?
  12. wow, like it just came out from the showroom or something...
  13. I guess after the Mc D outlet got burnt down, Mc D still qualifies to be "the happiest place" in the world.

  18. just a pointer guys...to obtain better/even light distribution, its better to paint your meter's inner housing with silver paint. No need to remove the meter face. Use a fine tip brush and paint the silver around the edge of the housing adjacent to the meter face. Good as new. Anyway on the subject of meter cluster. Anyone knows how to "re-new" the transparent plastic cover over these meter? Some have the 'cracked ice' effect, some have this yellowish dull tint. No point having LED but the meters are marred with unsightly plastic covers.
  19. A cheaper alternative is to visit breaker yards and source for those used gas struts, found in station wagon's/van's rear hatches. They can be a real bargain compared to brand new after market struts (esp the branded ones).
  20. Just a note. Some lifters are sold pretty cheap, but when the lifters are fully extended they are come out short. In another word, the longer the better. Imagine having your bonnet to open 90 deg. for engine repairs. FYI, Mercedes (the W123) model has 2 stage hinges. stage 1 for "normal" bonnet opening, and stage 2 is good for engine removal.
  21. Anyone can tell if e-book downloaded from internet (with subscription fees) can be shared among users?
  22. I'm not too sure about the e-book, but I guess It's safe if it is not used for reproduction and sales. Anyway, since the Admin is uneasy about the pdf e-book, I'll voluntarily delete the link. Thanks for the reminder. :D
  23. from the pic of the white ke20, the outside just suffer from minor dents. My panel beater used to tell me that as long as the metal is not folded with ridges, then its easier to repair with some dolly and hammer. lucky thing the dents can be accesible from the boot. Some pic of the damage from the inside of the boot can tell much more about the dents though.
