  3. sounds like it maybe the dashpot ,bit hard to say without looking at it,as for the return spring question ,make sure the linkage that joins the carbs opens and closes the carbs correctly, full throttle and back to the stop(idle speed)screws on both carbys,if your not sure seek help from a mechanic,as a mechanic ive seen people play with things they don't understand and cost themselves more money, just ask them to have a quick look and quote you and get a few quotes.find an older mechanic as many younger mechanics will struggle with twin carbs.hope this helps
  4. if the radiator is stuffed then the overheating is what probably blow the head gasket.get it check by a pro,its a small investment.get the cooling system pressure tested when its back together to make sure your not loosing coolant

  9. if you have the tools you can do it yourself if your keen, but it is hard without the tools, the rest is just practise.best of luck ive just about finished that part of mt rt142 that looked a lot like that, but i have to do the whole car .if you fix one dent then you got to do them all.

  12. catch the bus or buy a motor bike, cars don't run for free! its got power everything and ac and they need power to run ,still produces about 100kw can't get something for nothing
  13. is it internal regulator or external,if its external it may be in the regulator ,which means changing the alternator probably will have no effect!
  14. the charge light wire must be connected as this is the exciter wire to start the electromagnets in the alternator until it makes charge and the regulator takes over.check that it is charging between 12.8-13.8 volts with headlights and accessories turned on and reving at 2000 -3000 rpm, you can check what the drain on the battery is by turning everything off (engine an accessories interior light everything off) and put a fused amp meter between the battery negative at the earth connector after you have removed it from the battery, any power has to pass through the meter.it should not be any higher than a few milliamps(remember to start on the highest setting and work down).fully charge the battery fully and take it to an auto electrician to load test it must do it for free.hope this helps
  15. good quality lights ,good quality globes are good but they will work better if the harness to the light is upgraded with relays and higher amp wiring.use the factory wiring to turn the relays on and off,if you mount them close to the front you can replace the harness to the lights with better wiring, the lights are only as good as their power supply.watch the amp rating of the wires and fuses.to work out the amps ,divide the watts by the volts and that is the amps drawn.
  16. any of your mates got compressors ?,just borrow them and link them together,2 or 3 cheap compressors should keep up.
  17. the only things that burn white are water ,atf and brake fliud, the latter is like tear gas ,good prank.oil has a blue colour to it and a unique smell.
