  1. He did ask what is needed to be done for it to last..
  2. rub it back with some 1000 grit, etch prime it, rub it back again then prepwash it and paint them..
  3. Anyone seen the touring car masters before? Pieced together some videos I took while at Bathurst this year..
  4. ROFLMFAOBBQ$%*)(#!!!! I don't think anyone can top that!!
  5. It is definatly overcharging, Should be around the 14v mark when its charging properly. Is it an internal or externally regulated alternator? If its internally regulated you would be best starting by checking the regulator first (may need replacing). They usually start to overcharge if they are faulty or if they lose the battery sense wire to the regulator. If it is internally regulated you may have to remove the alternator and get it repaired/replaced..
  6. Happy New Year all rollaclubians...
  7. The old man had a look and recons its silicone contamination. Could possibly be from the car being polished with a silicone based product before, A rag you used to clean it had silicone on it or someone that was in contact with silicone touched it. He recons to Rub out as much of the defects as possible use some 800 grit sandpaper, then 2000 grit & prepsol (Wax and grease remover) to clean it up with a fresh rag. He said it would be OK to paint straight back over the top as it is fresh paint.. (No need to re-prime it)..
  8. so can you get some pictures at all?
  9. Depends how big the pinholes are, If they are small and lots of them all over it could be solvent boil (Cause is too much hardener / too many coats too quickly) or Silicone (Due to not cleaning the surfaces properly it makes the paint pool out as if it is not bonding).. Can also be caused if the undercoat isn't rubbed down properly or has been sprayed too dry.. Can you get any pictures of the pinholes at all?
  10. I think you need to lay off the cones
  11. Looks like a 7K starter, Correct me if I am wrong..
  12. Pretty sure they are ND..
  13. Bottom right is a KE70 starter, Can tell by the stud for the heatshield..
  14. Surely it is also possible to swap the drive end of the starter with the one that is going to suit the right angle to clear the extractors? most bosch stuff should be interchangable..
  15. One on the right looks like a 4A-C / 4A-FE starter to me.. Can you read the numbers off it at all? Left one looks like a 4K-C starter.. Reduction starters don't have the external solenoid, They have a plunger inside them..
  16. Think it has moreso to do with the fact they didn't come with twin carbs from factory and also they wouldn't be very emission friendly. I wonder though if you could get away with it if you can prove TRD made a twin carb manifold as a factory item.. Just keep it neat and tidy and don't do stupid stuff on the street, then the boys in blue don't have a reason to pull you over..
  17. Judging by the welds It is stainless..
  18. Yeah, That makes sense, Was reading some articles the other day on fitting catch cans and saw one done like that.. Makes it a bit harder with twin carbs, I don't exactly have a place to plumb it back to / no air box.. Been wanting to do this for ages so I'm glad its finally done..
  19. I beg to disagree with this method, Sandblasting = friction = heat = distortion of the panel. Chemical stripping does not cause any of that drama.. Yes it is a tad messy, But if you know what you are doing you can do it with minimal mess. Both my KE70 and Teddy's KE70s were done with chemical paint stripper.
  20. Fresh coat of paint makes it look a million bucks
  21. Already fitted, Doubt it would be ADR approved as it is venting to atmosphere, Though this time it is not going to leave oil vapors sludging up on my firewall where my ghetto catch can was before (Softdrink can)..
  22. Today I fabricated a bracket to mount the catch can, Went out and got some 90 degree vacuum elbows from Supercheap (They didn't have enough in stock, Had to use a T piece and a blocker for the last one). Ran all the piping for the catch can. Degreased the engine bay and carbs. Cleaned the K & N filters and re-oiled them..
  23. Picked it up off Ebay for $100 delivered..
  24. Didn't bother getting the code off the plate on the firewall?
  25. New toy came in the mail this morning.. Will fit it up tomorrow..
