Was it fitted in a panelvan? From what I've heard the panelvans wiring is a tad different..

4AGZE into AE82 has been done before, Requires the same modifications as dropping any 4AG(Z)E into any car that came with a 4A based motor. Can use the original mounts, Need fuel pump, need to sort all the wiring etc. If you can't figure this out for yourself you probably shouldn't be attempting the conversion yourself.

As far as I am aware as long as it is from another ae82 it should fit. They usually have one screw holding them in the middle and about 5 other plastic clips around the outside edges..

I think you mean castor rod. The front doesn't really support that much so I don't see why a 2mm plate welded with a mig would cause a problem.
