  1. Ahhh, good idea. I'll check that out a bit later. How hard would it be to convert the timing chain over from the 3K to the 4K?
  2. Who knows. Best bet would be to call/email Toyota and ask what all the factory options were on the KE55. If its a KE55E, then it could be a possibility, but seeing as though KE70's that were first released didnt have them (not that I have read about anyway), I don't see why a KE55 would have them from factory.
  3. No job = no money = just want a reliable daily driver. Not interested in doing up the panel van too much as its just my get around car for my band equipment (when i happen to get into another band)
  4. I'm pretty sure they never ever came out with electric windows. It'd have to be done aftermarket.
  5. Hmmm, interesting. So noisy tap-tap-tap sounds would just mean i'll have to adjust the valve clearance still or could it just be that the lifters are so worn that its not pumping oil up to the top of the engine? Can they be removed without having to take the head off as well?
  6. Test drove it for the first time today after fixing the oil leak, First thing to say - The lifters are very very noisy, even after a adjusting the rockers. Other than that, it hauls along pretty well, much better than the 3K did. Now I have a couple of questions. Are the 3K lifters the same as the 4K ones? Or Should I just convert to solid lifters?
  7. It was international Slayer day as well. And to top it off, I went and saw The Omen. Gotta say, it wasnt bad at all. Everyone should go see it :faq:
  8. The forum wont let me upload any pics to this topic for some reason, so here's some external links for ya. Engineers - Adelaide - Page 1 Engineers - Adelaide - Page 2 Enjoy! I recommend Rory Thompson. Awesome guy, but don't waste his time unless you got money to back it up cos he can pick time-wasters from the guys who want to get something engineered.
  9. You'd want faulksy's engine. Turbo 20v 4AGE :faq:
  10. Its all working. The oil pump wasnt aligned in the right spot to get the rotor button lined up with Piston #1 on the dizzy cap. After much aligning and messing about it fired up today. Now to just fix that oil leak from the oil filter bracket.....
  11. Can you override the immobiliser?
  12. Success! After lining up the oil pump (so the dizzy was in the right spot), it started with a little bit of coaxing, I timed the engine and now I just have to fix the oil leak (which is coming from the oil filter bracker). Once all that is done, I'll save a bit of money and put the 3K head on the 4K block and maybe regrind the cam and get a 32/36 weber and extractors for it, then a sports exhaust.
  13. I'd go a 4AGZE as opposed to a 4AGE.
  14. I'd suggest another ECU....
  15. So when's it going on the road Faulksy? :monkey: I think everyone would like an update :)
  16. A 100kw 4AGE motor went on toymods for $750. It was a FWD set-up with FWD gearbox, manifolds etc etc (no wiring loom though) but if you know enough about them and research the converting from FWD to RWD its not that hard to do. :monkey:
  17. I'm thinking sump as it only happens when oil pressure is increase from cranking the engine over. My next questions - can the gasket be replaced without having to pull the engine out again?
  18. My nipples felt like that when i was workin on the panel van last night!
  19. All depends on what shape you like dude. Its a personal preference really but if you were to go AE82, get a twin-cam as they come with the 4AGE engine.
  20. Yep. She just wont start up. Just cranks over and thats it....
  21. A good way to learn is to have someone who knows what they're doing mechanical-wise and get them to watch over you. OR You do what i did and mess around, make mistakes and learn from them. Nice car by the way. Very very clean :monkey:
  22. I tried again today and the battery is now flat, so I gotta wait for it to charge up again *sigh*
  23. Got Takumi-wannabe? :monkey:

List the following and issue a statement to the police Area, date, time, which way he was travelling, which way the honda was travelling. Draw a map of how the incident happened, list the speed humps, stop sign etc etc and get to the police about it. Description of the occupants in the car will help police with their inquiries as well.
  25. can't actually see any visible signs of oil anywhere on the engine. All i know is its leaking onto the crossmember and then pooling on the floor under the car.... As for spark and fuel, i have both of those.... Compression check I can't do cos I don't have anything to check it with :monkey:
