  1. I'm not sure if the mods would like that, cos its not rolla....maybe..... I was actually looking for a 67-70 crown wagon for about 2 yrs, I finally got this one transported from sydney, it has a bit of rust in it, and the prep job on the paint is terrible. So it will cop the bare metal treatment soon after the rola is done. I'm still glad i found one!!! It has a 7mge in it too, so it goes pretty well.. :y:
  2. Ive always had a thing for wagons  , will be following your thread
  3. man that cracked me up! I go through stages where i could be bothered, at the moment i have a gt3076r sitting on my desk, thats my biggest motivator! Damn i love that color, pics never do it justice, but it sure gets me keen to get into it  Yeh, thats my brothers project, its a holden 304 V8, in an old hr holden. Its pretty much getting there, hes wiring it at the moment, then he has to assemble the bottom end. Turbos a gt42r, i think..... :y:
  4. Yep, that colour is the light at the end of the tunnel! Absolutely! at $2 each theyre good for work rest and play!
  5. I'm going the new commodore "atomic" green. :jamie: It didnt really need painting, but there were a few things about the paintwork that bugged me. The panel gaps were never that good, A bubble had emerged from under the paint on one rear quarter, I bent the lower apron when loading onto a trailer, and i really wanted to change the look again with new paint, wheels, and full chrome all over. :y: I kind of wish i never started it, cos the Crown wagon i bought needs it alot more, it has a fair bit of rust that needs attention, but.... its my dream toyota, and i finally found one! 8/
  6. I think youre right, cos the progress is excessively fast, he has something new nearly every day.
  7. Yeh mostly thrash rims for burnout comps and stuff, i always just run the cheap 2nd hand import tyres on them. I thought about polishing them, but the surface is a pretty rough machine job, so they would have to go on a lathe first to make it easier i recon, big job otherwise. 8/
  8. Been following this guys progress for awhile, just checking that everyone has seen it. 8/ Hopefully this hasnt been posted before.... 2jz ke20
  9. Thanks styler. Man i was suprised how close the ke20 is to being allowed a 2litre turbo. Its allowed 1945cc I had already got the weight of the ke25 from the book, and knew it wasnt allowed an sr turbo, but it suprised me that the ke20 is heavier, so i had to double check.
  10. Well, after a month the rain has stopped for 2 days, so i got crackin, cos its supposed to rain again on tomorrow. :jamie: Anyway, i got to stripping the rear end to bare metal on sunday, these are some of the handy tools. paintstripper The black marks are from where ive been with the wire buff. Last time i painted it we welded the seams up in the rear because they are so prone to rust. I also got to inspect the lower rear quarters again, happy to say theyre looking good, one little hole to weld up. RDO today so i got to finish the prep with the wire buff in the hard to reach areas, and pulled out the 2k etch primer, this stuff is the best money can buy, it is marine grade, and comletely seals the surface, ready for filler. It sux working in my little carport, but the big shed is taken up by my brothers 929, hes nearly done though so the rola will get a promotion soon i hope :y: This 2 pac uses a different hardener so it is not carcenogenic, however i still should have grabbed my mask, but forgot. Ready for the next phase now! 8/
  11. wowsers, this thing is gonna be awesome! nice color choice :fuzz:
  12. I'm on sunny coast, and i know of two others on here too, corollaandy, and dragongoddess i think...
  13. I'm painting my ke30 the Atomic this time round, awesome color!! :fuzz: I have a thing for in your face colors though, so some may disagree :bash:
  14. Well. you know i wanna come! hmmm, why are all the cruises in sydney..........
  15. I personally recommend horsepowerinabox, they are on nissan silvia as well, donot go with sliding performance, also on ns.com, as after 7 months of waiting i had to consult a lawyer to see my money again.
  16. Sorry to invade, but i can't remember the qld code of practice light motor vehicles weight for my ke25, have you got it styler? Just saves me a trip to my engineer, thanks.
  17. hey man, good to hear this is still a happening thing :lolcry: nice work, keep us in the loop :drgrim:
  18. Big fuel lines, and nice tashaft loop :drgrim:
  19. I have had my my 17s with 205/40 tyres given the nod on my ke30, while trying to defect the crap out of my car they spent ages looking through a very thick book which had every car listed, and that book stated that my tyre size is the max legal size. i believe this is in the australian adrs, luckily it appears that in queensland they go off rolling diameter as in qld adrs, no larger then a 1" increase in total rolling diameter.
  20. Would be interested to see how you go with this, if you are using a ke30 crossmember. Keep us updated on the progress.
  21. I'm pretty sure kumho, (or was it simex :P )make white walls, thats what i had lined up for mine, they were $105 each in 205/60/13, which is not too bad :P
  22. With metallic paint the whole car should be sprayed together, the metallic flakes will never sit the same otherwise. my guess with your two different colors though, is that you simply didnt stir you paint well enough before using it. With metallic it is also important that you swirl the pot of you gun to stir it also, fairly often, between strokes. hope this helps :P
  23. Awesome car man, looks like your doing a real good job with it too. Nice choice on the diff, you wont break it. Will be following your progress for sure!
  24. thanks man, youve done a damn tidy job yourself. that zoom mag is a keeper.
