It is stated in the big book that my engineer has, that many 'same family motors' are allowed to be put in to various cars without a mod plate. eg 202 into lj torana In this big book it actually lists the allowable same family motors for each car, from memory the 5k was allowed, but to be sure you need to consult an engineer, cos that was a few years ago. even if the engineer is to busy, ask him if you can have a look through the book. I think it was called 'code of practice for light vehicle modification', or something similar.

:( :) :bash: damn rain :bash: :bash: :bash: :sob: Anyways, there has been some things happening, I bought a ford C4 auto for the KE30, its fairly built, and manualised. I have already sourced a stocko sr20 auto bellhousing, and its going to be real easy to make the C4 fit by my measuring. I also have purchased, a b&m oil cooler, and this: Also the fabricator rang this week, and wants my car there on sunday :) So, that means: Custom plenum Custom turbo manifold New mandrel bent 3" exhaust (a neater one) I tried to talk him into building my rollcage too, but he doent like doing them, and recons hes too busy :sob: -

Huge fan of ta22's ;) its going to go real hard once its tuned, looks like youve been pretty busy. :bash: so how much boost are you going to put through it? what sort of power are you hopeing for? -
Nice seats, must feel pretty sweet to drive. ;) So are you still changing the color of the wags, or just gonna touch it up for now? Definately can't complain about the yellow either way. I kinda wish mine was a wags :bash:

Nah, its not as exciting as you would think, just another bolt in replacement, with a small twist. This ones more of a restoration project, rather then a modification project. i can't bring myself to cut into this one. :jamie: Thanks man. Yeh the car had only a few dints in it, and almost zero rust, but from factory there were a things that need to be smoothed properly. for example all of the edges around the doors and door openings are high compared to the flat of the panel. can't wait to see how yours turns out with that racer look and color scheme! :hmm: -
This thing is going to look awesome! i personally hate spoilers, but your front bar even looks good, I recon the look will definately work.

Will put pics up of the new motor as soon as it arrives. :jamie: -
Up until now i have not started a thread for my ke25, because it was finished, and there is nothing to write about. But, due to a way too cheap motor option coming up, the ke25 is no longer finished, so here is a quick backtrack of how it got to where it is. :jamie:

Cam Instalation And Tappet Addjustment

1. They bind if all the coils are touching each other, once a spring has experienced this, it looses alot of strength. You can check the bind on the springs by turning the motor over by hand and looking. Probably need to know a bit more about the cam for anyone to give specific advice. They are unlikely to bind without large amounts of lift, but you also have to consider valve bounce as a possibility as well. 2. very important that you use a torque wrench, you can break your cam. 3. the factory clearances should be fine, although the cam would have come with its own specs. 4. do them slightly loose of the settings given, warm the motor up, and then reset them. -
Sounds to me that you pretty much have it covered. Start a thread in the 'rides and projects' section of this forum and keep us all informed. :hmm: Pretty easy conversion from what ive seen, theyre a pretty small six. Not sure about this, i don't think they are known for their stength. If youve joined toymods heres a link for you. ke30 1ggte for sale

Nice pics, the stitts car off toymods. these are the best pics ive seen of it :) Mine is pretty much the same, its a series one though, mine is a series two, so they have different fronts including gaurds and bonnet. Its all interchangeable though. It has 192kw @ wheels, still a 7m though, which is a shame. -

Got a bit done this week, still just using the paint stripper, First i did the ke30s new bootlid, the old one was always intended to get replaced, i found this one in excellent condition. mmmm, bare metal. Then i got a bit anxious to do a bit to the crown, so it got the paint stripper poured over the roof. This is the worst spot of rust the old crown had in her, i had to cut the gutter off, and will be bending up a new peice to weld in soon. A few things arrived in the mail this week too, new door and screen rubbers for the crown, i was lucky to get these from the US, they don't even list them on rare spares. Some 800cc injectors for the rola, and the bearings for the new bottom end. crap pic. And a front case and oil pump for the new motor, cos i didnt have a DET one. Last of all i thought i would show everyone why i like to take my cars back to bare metal, before respraying. This is what i have found under the paint of every old car i have stripped back, over the entire car. This is the crown roof This is the rola boot Because of the age of the paint, it no longer keeps the moisture out, and rust forms under the paint, giving no evidence from the outside. The paint on the corolla boot was perfect and glossy too, so you can never tell. :) -
New Engine Convrsion For Ke-11
oh what a nissan feeling! replied to kickn5k's topic in Automotive Discussion
Wrong, a four stroke motorcross bike requires a rebuild every 6 hrs of use (2007 model specs). A 2 stroke is similar, but is damn easy to do. I don't think anyone was talking of a zzr250. A 1000cc sports bike requires a major service at 24,000, adjust valves, torque cylinder head ect. at 50,000 they are due for a new timing belt if youre lucky, if ridden hard a rebuild is on the cards. -
17s fit fine on a ke 30, i assume the ke70 would be the same. Offset required is +25

Well scott, atm i am "not a suitable person to be holding a licence". :hmm: but the rola will be back and better then ever in a few months. What is your ride? -
Do a search for this info, its been covered heaps of times, the options are RA Celica struts, Nissan silvia struts, or hopper stopper kits (falcon brakes). Once again search. The options are: Hilux diff, apparently the early ones are nearly the right length, lsds are available. Mazda b1800 diff, huge axels, and only 20mm too long in total, lsds are available, but rare and expensive. BTR78, comes out in commos vl-vs, falcons ea-el, and r31 skyline and pintara. the strongest and most expensive option, but you have to get the right one as they come with 25 spline, and either 2 or 4 pin centre. definately, the are heaps of these things on toymods LOVE KE70 is a member on here that has one in a ke70, toymods would definately have more info for you on the conversion though.
