Saw a beautiful baby yellow KE10/11 driving north on the GDE. Looked overrated!
Also spotted a really nice old Toyota Crown in the carwash next to Domino's one night. Plenty of
KE70's and KE30/55 sedans running around. Some pretty cool ones too.. Summernats had a good
amount. Saw about 5 and all of them were running V8's.
I've got a K engine manual. It says that an air filter should be "cleaned" every 5,000km by spraying with pressurised
air just to get any crap out of it. However it doesn't mean it needs replacing. The filter was said to be replaced every
15,000km if I remember correctly..
Your answer lies in the users preference, which can only be answered by the user!
Go and feel up some perforated leather and then some suede and decide what you like.
Alrite guys... I'm in a pickle. Went to the carwash tonight to give it a last-minute clean. I'd been doing a bit of work to the car
so there were some grease marks here and there. So I thought to myself "tyre and engine cleaner must cut grease pretty well"....
Didn't know it cut grease THAT well... Including polish :) Stripped probably 95% of my coat of polish!
I'm going to be so ashamed to show my car tomorrow in it's state, but unfortunately I won't have the time of day to give it a
quick coat. For those willing, I'd love a hand to give it a decent covering of polish before we park! Will see everyone there :S
Hrmm... I bypassed my ballast resistor when it broke (was horrible trying to find what was wrong with my car at the time).
I don't really remember WHEN it happened, but I think it may have been BEFORE I've gone through 4 starter motors
(in 8 months) Would/could this be the cause? The solenoid is the bit that ALWAYS breaks/doesn't function. When they're
on their way out they would start to click on and off.
:)
Seen one of these out the front of my tech. Pretty cool looking car. Must be a hell of a lot of fun to drive being a 1.8 with all of those mods.
Shame you broke the first engine. Need some 12" rims with an equal amount of dish and it would look awesome :S But seriously...
any plans for some fat little wheels?
I'll say 6... That way we can all grab a drink, bite to eat and then have plenty of time left over to settle in before the (majority) of cars start coming past.
I haven't used one for a while, but I'm pretty handy with a MIG if you've got one (pretty sure anyone can do it anyway haha). Arc welding isn't too hard either.
I'll need a hand taking out the engine/gearbox of my KE30 soon! Won't be able to bring it because it doesn't drive but everyone's welcome to come around to
my driveway for a BBQ and perform the quickest gearbox and engine removal from a KE30 in my street!
We'll talk about it on Thursday...
Cool photo's Chappo. Where is that spot with the two bridges above?
The museum is a cool backdrop ;)
Come to the Summernats cruise THIS THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And bring the KE35 :lolcry:
Well, as a lot of you may know, the Summernats 2010 car festival will be on from Thursday 7th to Sunday the 11th of
January! Will there be any Corolla's coming down for the show or anything in particular to look out for? We are having
a small meet on the Thursday night in the city to watch all of the pretty cars pass by! If anyone is interested and is coming
to town check out the Canberra section and post up your interest in the "Shows And Cruises And Swap Meets" thread.
Cheers,
Vincent!
Straight out.. no. If you want it to work you will need a K engine inlet manifold (I think they're made by a company called Lynx. Redline may also do them)
and then you may need to modify or replace the linkages to something that suits the one on a KE70.
I like the plans, but as for the diff conversion, I don't see the need... The gearbox is probably the weaker of the two.
If you do the master cylinder, I'd do it after the TA22 items go in to see if you still need it.
Otherwise, do the rest ;)
Bumper does look great!
What's the go with the K50 conversion? Is it already 4-speed manual or will you be needing to do the full auto > manual swap?
If it's already manual, swap should be piece of piss but I've never done an auto > manual conversion so can't help you out there!
Liking the rest of the plans. You'll be surprised how many people say you have a hole in your exhaust/muffler when you get your
exhaust done.. I deliver pizza's and I'd say 1/10 people tell me to get a new exhaust :)
Good luck :(
I hope you're leaving the standard colour!!!1! My fave factory colour of all Corolla's :(
Work is coming along very well :)
EDIT: Love the "hoist!" reminds me of when I had to turn a wrecked car onto it's roof and all I had was a scissor jack
with a max height of about 35cm and the wilderness around me!
