  1. But would you take to your car with a stick welder trying to weld a spare wheel well into the car? Gasless is quite different to standard MIG (or GMAW as the now more technically correct term). The wire structure is different hence it creates a different type of arc and you get all kinds of funny stuff happening. I just don't think its very suitable for welding thin metals. The most delightful machine Ive ever used for welding thin metals was a 350amper. It was hugely powerful (welding 15mm plate was a breeze) but you could ajust it so delicately down low.
  2. Yes, QT needs to do some big reforms, they have some big problems.

Fook gave me some good advice when I was thinking about doing some suspension work regarding busches. He said: Keep the rubber castor rod busches that way you can wind on full castor. :) It was good advice!
  4. ARGGG I HATE YOU!!!!
  5. I would avoid gasless mig if at all possible.
  6. Each time you engineer the car you have to get another mod plate. So if Fook mod plated brakes and seats at one time, then the diff, and then the cage then he will have 3 :). My celicas got a mod plate, but if, for example, I did a brake upgrade then Id have to get another mod plate put in. Weather you can get them all combined onto one I'm not sure of, but heaps of mod plates in the engine bay looks cool :)

No emissons to get in the way and just generally a delight to work on because everything is so simple and layed out nicely.

  16. but where does the power for the electrical fan come from?? I think your going to be drawing power either way... I saw a very cleaver setup a year or so ago. These guys had designed an altenator that is combined with the water pump pully. So you have an idler and all the power is used in one location.
  17. accually come to think of it...my mate had a problem with his poo-colour-KE55. He used to have to bash the dash really hard to get the guage to work.
