  1. Damn..just looking at these pics...good work Fook!! Gonna have to come out for QMS2 or whatevers next
  2. Its tried and tested. Other guys have said that K50s don't handle power as well as K40s. Stands to reason too when you really think about it. 5 gears, more moving parts, more chance of something screwing up. Robs using a K40. Sure he could do with an extra gear..but loosing that reliability isnt worth it. The other argument is that 5th really isnt that great...i mean shit..maybe a 500rpm drop. Youd be better off getting larger rims (14s or 15s) and use a slightly larger profile than you would to match the old diameter.
  3. Theres a few around Gina Bullians New Zealand KE70 4AGZE 20v turbo 11.44 123mph theres a few KE1x and other earlier corollas with 4A-GEs around. Do some searching...you will find them. For example I found a guy just finishing up a CA18DET conversion in a KE70 when I was looking for inspiration.
  4. Xany: Hope your gonna use a 4 speed....a 5 speeds probably not gonna last long if you make it to 150hp
  5. I don't think you can make the car "heavier". Its all based on the manufacturers kerb weight.
  6. I recon redcliff...its not somewhere I go often.
  7. And you plan to street this? Hate to be the one to tell you but its gonna be highly illegal. Not 100% sure but I think a 13B is too. For registration purposes Rotarys capacity is doubled. SO a 20B is gonna be 4L...which is above the Literage limit imposed on vehicles weighing less than X amount. I know a 13B isnt legal for a KE20...unsure about KE70s...perhaps its legal
  8. Oh do you mean both? UH OH!! BAD IDEA. Most people that attempt twin charging fail. Its just difficult to get them working together properly
  9. Fairly easily. Turbo manifold. Piping oh and the turbo.
  10. As standard! Me...well I just get stabbed with my steering column. I don't think I want to live without my corolla anyway.
  11. friday nights an easy one.
  12. hahaha I can't believe things like a collapsable steering column were marketing points. Oh and you couldnt go without your arm rests on all doors
  13. I think you'll find 12A-t and 13B-t will end up a fair bit more than your expecting. A mild 12A-t with block, turbo, manifolds, injectors goes for $2200. Then you need a gearbox, custom tail shaft (because you will chew universals for lunch), new diff if you plan to accually bring it on boost, loom and ecu, new fuel pumps and surge tank...the list goes on. The you need the brake upgrades to make it legal. Id be steering away from rotarys...great motor...tad expensive. 4A IMHO are too expensive for what they are. Ive got my heart set on a CA18DET (ok so its datsun...) with a T25g turbo, RB30E(T) VL gearbox, RB injectors. Fingers crossed I can have it putting out about 200rwhp in the long run. Probably more like 160/70 straight out. I'm expecting that to cost me a tad over a grand. Things like exhaust, intercooler piping and turbos are what kill your budget.

  23. Well I picked two jobs out of the saturday paper. Other place called today asking for an interview...had to turn them down...I'm glad I only appied to two places!!! Few placed to check out http://www.detir.qld.gov.au/ Department of education and training (also industrial relations) http://www.mtaq.com.au/ (Motor trades association queensland - give them a call. they can send out some specific information for the automotive industry) Also if your not sure what you want to do for a career, centerlink has a careers center. You can do a program there, takes about 20mins and you'll find out whats suited to your interested. Engine Reconditioning was one of mine. I had already expressed an interest for it but this was just confirmation, and the extra reassurance I needed. don't have the number on hand...I'll get it after I come back from the coast if your still interested.
