  1. So, if you go here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=forums&area=topicsubs Change "Show topics from:" to 'the beginning' you still don't see any of these topics? 4598 34542 35933 37832 40065 40455 41168 42416 42641 43360 43740 43829 43830 43904 44123 44412 44793 45266 45521 46745
  2. Works fine with chrome and IE8. What version are you using? If its IE6 I'm going to come to your house and beat you with a stick! You can only see your own warn status.
  3. Like others have said, KE30 backing plates are the answer. No need to machine or redrill anything (but you might like to retap the mounting holes on the strut).
  4. Well I started it for the first time in a little over two years tonight. Aside from the lean problem that cracked my old turbo and a couple of noisy lifters everything looks sweet (fingers crossed). Should hopefully be back on the track on the 15th of February pending a workshop.
  5. trolling
  6. All alloy motors. My hands hurt :(
  7. Yea they turned the search all shades of shit in this version. People have been trying to get them to fix the search for years and they only ever seem to make it worse!
  8. *bing* (is a shit search engine)
  9. Like I said when I added the disable mobile site button, the main site isn't designed to be handled by mobiles (hence the mobile site). If it works for you, great. If it doesn't well thats unfortunate but it isn't going to change. Often mobile browsers don't have the same capabilities as desktop browsers and as Rollaclubs intended to be viewed on a full desktop browser I can't let the shortcomings of mobile browsers hold back the main site. Most fairly powerful smartphones (iOS 3+ Safari & Opera mini, Android 1.5+ default browser are the ones I've done basic testing with) should be capable of browsing the full site relatively well. Now, the reason the disable button wouldn't be working for you will be something to do with the way your phone handles the session cookies. The session ID stored by your browser is tied to a database entry. Stored in the database entry is your browser type. When you click the "Disable mobile site" button it changes the browser type stored in the database so that the full version is shown. If your browser discards the session cookie the software has to determine what type of browser you're using again and you lose the full version. TL;DR if you hit the button and it reverts straight back to the mobile version your browser isn't storing the session cookie. This is a client side problem and you need to either change your settings so that session cookies are stored correctly or change to a browser that is capable of handling them correctly. Trev: I might and add a button with the other few underneath the avatar. Still looking for more people to help out with the wiki and/or introduction.
  10. I think you need to check your calculations. I'd expect 4.7L/100km out of a modern VW Golf turbo diesel not a clapped out 20-something year old automatic 4A-C. Double that figure and I'll start to believe it.
  11. It'll probably be easier to just make the nomobile script work for your phone. Works on both the iphone browsers but I don't have any other smartphones to test with. What phone/browser is it? PM if you need to. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for any browser though, just make sure you're logged in before you disable it and it should stick.
  12. You realise there's a link down the bottom to turn it off don't you? Definitely wont be deleting it!
  13. I haven't replied to a lot of posts directly but rest assured I have definitely read them and the ideas are still in mind. Bit of a long winded post so I've broken it into a few sections. For Sale areas Mandatory image upload is possible but I'd have to look at the code side of it closer. Really though do you think you'll get those people uploading photos or just not advertising? So ignoring ads without pictures would be essentially the same? (Yes I am trying to avoid spending time on this :P) I'd like to avoid using moderators as servants too. If someone can't be bothered putting the time into the quality of their advertisement then it shouldn't be up to a moderator to have to pull them up on it. Sure, we expect the bare minimums and I've automated that as much as possible but I still find it ridiculous that something like 90% of the moderation is in the for sale areas. Thats all time taken away from being able to make Rollaclub better. All that aside, I believe there's a new addon product in development from IPS (the people who do the forum software). I can't seem to find the development thread again but last I saw it was in beta. Even something like this aftermarket addon. I believe the official one is very similar but a bit further along in development from memory http://dev.millne.com/community/index.php?app=classifieds The FAQ/Wiki This thing needs a major tidy up! The format worked well initially when it was bought over from Jamie's original FAQ. Now that its grown to encompass more models and a broader range of topics its become fairly messy and difficult to navigate unless you're familiar with it. I think its to the point now where new information has ceased to be added to it as its easier to find it in the forum. What I'd like is for group of members (or one very dedicated member) to get together and take the task on of reorganising the wiki so that it can become a valuable resource again. Much of the information is there, certainly there's more that could be added but I think the primary goal would be to create a structure for future growth that is easy to navigate for first time users. I'm happy to provide a dedicated forum for the group to discuss how to go about achieving this and provide technical input. I'm also happy to assist in some training in how to edit the wiki, it is a different setup to the forum but you really can't mess it up, every change is able to be reverted back to an earlier state. Beyond that helping people add more information to the wiki would be the long term goal. Hopefully that will remove the need for some of the "The XYZ Thread"s as an attempt to accumulate information. These make me cringe because in the long term the information will be lost in the sea of threads. Hopefully if the same information can make its way into the new format wiki it will be valuable for as long as it needs to be. Introduction tour/guide/email/whatever This is coming out of these few posts: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/46183-5k-hp-and-a-query/page__view__findpost__p__478624 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/46183-5k-hp-and-a-query/page__view__findpost__p__478693 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/46183-5k-hp-and-a-query/page__view__findpost__p__478700 Yes, love the idea but like the wiki it needs some people to put their hands up and put this together. Again I'm happy to provide somewhere to discuss ideas and put together the guide. I'll be there to provide support on the technical side of the implementation and other guidance if needed. New forums/threads There's a fair amount of consideration given before a new forum is implemented. I try not to overdo the categories too much because it makes navigating difficult among other issues. Tech Tips is definitely one I like though so we may see that in the near future. As I said before threads covering entire topics is not something I'm a fan of and I'm not sure why they've gained in popularity of late. I honestly don't think there could be a worse way to compile data on a forum. Threads are easily lost (and we can't pin everything), the linear nature provides little continuity and there's always the chance sometime down the track someone who's contributed to the thread chucks a tanty and edits all their posts out. Ideally someone would take the time to compile all of the info gathered in these threads in a neat fashion and translate it all across to the wiki. I'm sure there's other things I haven't covered so I might pick this up later.
  14. If you have trouble with the standard uploader you can try switching to the flash uploader here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?app=core&module=usercp Tick "Enable flash uploader?", Save changes and reload the post screen. Not much I can do unless the problem shows up again. Too many possibilities. May have been as simple as a connectivity problem.
  15. Surely telstra would have sent you a bill in the past with the wrong name on the account and you could have done something about it then? Personally I rate telstra shop foibles pretty low compared to optus' shoddy network. I hope the day never comes when I have to use that garbage again :S Wgmg: the good guys. Someone at work just got a new laptop and asked me to have a look at it, couldn't get some facebook crap working. The problem? Internet Explorer 6 is installed. WHAT THE SHIT!? Why don't you just sell a new laptop with preinstalled viruses? IE6 is more than 9 years old! RC didn't exist when IE6 was released. Stop using that shit!
  16. Yea that was me setting the memory value higher than it could allocate and apache (the web server) crashed  oops! It was about 4 times slower on average, now 'only' 2.5-3 times slower. The raw figures for generating the index page are something like 80ms for the old software on the old server 40ms for the old software on the new server 140-200ms for the current software with no tweaks ~110ms for the current software with the current tweaks If I can get it back down under 100ms I'll be happy...ish.
  17. I've just finished (yea right, finished like a project car) some tweaks to the server that should HOPEFULLY make the site a little more snappy. The new software has been driving me nuts with its incredibly poor load times and I've missed the snappy feel of the old version. So far it seems to have improved drastically over how it was performing but not nearly as good as the old software. Let me know if encounter any errors, I'm not anticipating any but you never know.
  18. Should be able to clear it by clicking the little number.
  19. Hrmmm yep, not 2E. This is gonna annoy me all night now.
  20. My moneys on 2E
  21. Fixed :) Cheers for picking that up.
  22. Don't forget to bring cash guys. HB don't split bills so if you don't have cash you'll be up shit creek.
  23. I'm glad people find it so useful :)
