Hi, As the title suggests I have a problem with my interior light. It's not working at all.. not in the "on" position or the "door" position. The strange thing is that it used to work fine. It just started playing up one day and now it has stopped working completely. I never knew how much I used it until it was gone! I have checked the fuses and they look ok. Also have tried a different globe but there is no power getting to the light switch at all as I have tested it with a multimeter. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I know it's a very broad question and it would be hard to answer without looking at the car but I am getting really annoyed with it as I have tried I can think of... Just after some ideas really.. Cheers, Chris

Loving it! Big wagon fan here.. Really like the work you have done so far. The paint has come up great! Globes should look cool too, but not sure if i like the front lip. Looks a little odd to me. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Chris

28/36 dcd nice! I'll get around to putting mine on one day haha Couple of questions.. What venturis are in it? Is it ok to fit with standard fuel pump, no pressure regulator or return line? What size jets are you running? Looking good! Cheers

Well. Thought I better do some kind of update since my this beast got nominated for rolla of the year haha! *cough* vote for me HAHA no seriously though I didnt expect that at all and cheers to anyone who nominated/voted/got mad love for this little 38. It has really inspired me to keep at it and someday hopefully I can be nominated and actually have a chance of winning! This car will not have an engine conversion or any big money spent on it unlike many others. I plan to keep it on historic rego which means it must keep its 4k and more or less everything standard. Rims are allowed as long as they are similar age to car (mine were built 1980) so thats all good. Plan on fitting my 28/36 DCD Weber under the stock air filter, do some engine work including a cam grind, maybe some head work etc. Then also would love to do a full respray in white at some stage in next couple of years.. For now though just enjoying it and doing a few things here and there. I have finally finished my headlight upgrade with some new bulbs and fitted them all up. Wow, what an improvement! Can see so much better at night and the signs light up properly unlike my old lights which were pathetic to say the least.. but I never knew how bad they were till i got these! And the best part is it only cost me 55 bucks. These photos were from last weekend. Went for a cruise down to Middleton. Cheers, Chris

i reckon its underrated

Good work on the front suspension dude that looks nice! Whats the specs on front wheels and how close to the guards/ how much track has it got now?
-
Looks good dude! Can you measure the xt130 hub thickness for me? Still considering going down this route if i can get em to fit better.. Good to see you out and about in this the other day also!

Nice update on the engine! This car just gets better and better...

Sounds like fun but it does look pretty ugly especially from behind.. id tap my wagon over this anyday

don't the early aw11 rear shocks fit the front and are shorter stroke? My link
-
yeah pretty much should have done this conversion before i bought wheels. I reckon 14x6 with the same offset would be about right. Just can't bring myself to changing wheels anytime soon so the struts are for sale.. just going to get some new bushes up front and slightly firmer springs should be sweet with my standard struts. Edit: would ae86 struts be any better suited?
-
yeah i know haha just using standard KE parts other than the struts and steering arms... apparently xt130 hubs are slightly smaller and would fit these struts but even then i don't think they are gonna work with these rims

A few things been happening with this. Got some struts out of an rt133 corona which I planned converting to adjustable coilovers, but after test fitting them I have decided not to go down that path. The extra track it creates at the front, and 14x7 offset 0 wheels is just far too much for the front of this little thing. Tried it even with unrealistic camber (more than camber tops) and there was still too much wheel outside of the guards and looked stupid. Can't really think of any way around this? Other than different wheels which is not an option. Possibly different hubs? Heres some pics.. Ke38 front struts Rt132/33 struts Also these came in the mail today  Just need to get some globes for them

Keep spotting a super clean red ke20 which i think lives near me in seacliff. Looks very nice and original.

Thanks Crowie, the shocks cost about 200 bucks for the pair. think they might have been 95 each or something, worth every penny I'm loving them.. Now makes me realise how much I need to do something with the front end too, so I'm on the look out for some struts like xt130 ones or something, to convert to adjustable coilovers. Like what you have in yours but probably not as good haha Thanks! Thanks Glen, I got the mirrors from online, but you can get them from most auto parts stores. They are just universal fit ones and cost about 50 bucks I think.. Cheers, Chris

Ok, finally went up to pedders at morphett vale to get some new rear shock absorbers. Ended up going with suzuki sierra part number GSR9047. They were the right length for the wagon and nice and firm to stop the hard rear springs from bouncing around all the time. Very happy with how it feels. A bit stiffer than before but not bouncy at all which has actually made it more comfortable to drive with, if that makes sense... Here's a pic of a new sierra shocks next to the old ke38 rear shockers. haha! Sooooo much better :)

Yeah that was me. Would have to be blind to miss your little red beast. Dragways look nice too. :y:
